I love when Simon Brett reads his own works. My library has four Feathering books on audio cd. I just couldn't get into them. Now I realize it's because of the narrator. I prefer Mr Brett to read his own books to me😊

Ii love that Simon Brett reads his stories tonus. I just love Carol and Jude and the rest of the residents at Feathering. I laugh so hard in so many parts of the stories, but in addition to laughing in this one, I cried so hard at the end. It was so heartbreaking the way life can just wear us down and break us. Simon Btett really exposed the failty of our human condition as well as delighting us with the assurance that life is beautiful at any age.

It doesn’t seem that much of import re the narrative is lost, but I do feel an unpleasant-jolt whenever chapters are cut-off mid-sentence.
