- It's fight night and today we're looking at how Amboss stacks up against UWorld! In this video we'll be looking at:
1) Which resource is more comprehensive?
2) Which resource is most similar to the actual Step 1 exam?
3) Which resource offers a better self assessment?
4) Which resource’s Progress Analytics are better?
5) Which resource is a better value for your money?
***Something we forgot to include in this video is that you can turn off the Amboss hint options by entering "exam replication mode." This makes it easier to avoid using the hints while you go through the qbank.

Well... Amboss has a TEST MODE in which the key info and attending tip are not available so it is actually pretty realistic. While the majority of step 2 questions only have 4 choices, there are indeed, some questions with 6 to 8 options, so having those extra options in amboss is pretty helpful
In my experience, Ive used both and Amboss and UW... and amboss is way way better in my opinion. If you are a person like me that likes integrative, colorful, easy to access, all in one, no wasting time going through different books, then amboss is for you! I found UW too dull and monochromatic which makes studying boring for me, so since in my dedicated period I study 12 to 14 hours per day, using amboss, that has, great Osmosis videos, picmonic videos, images, microscope smart zoom, very well explained ECGs, mnemonic tips, comparative tables, and more...

Also, UW only limits you to 40 questions per session other than the self assesments which you can only do 1 time each, amboss lets you do unlimited questions... I personally do 70 to 80 questions at the beggining of the day, and then review and study them... by the way I always reccomend doing questions in Exam mode, either platform you use... putting yourself through that time-stress is what will make you get used to the timing and realistic situation of the exam, later on, you can take all the time you need when you study the questions

I have used both. I think uworld is better. amboss gives too much information which is hard to retain.
Curiousity if you can only choose 1 what would you prefer??

Can we use Amboss as a main study material for usmle step 1 thorugh its library or first aid and bnb is must?

Hi! To clarify-- yes you can highlight key points on the actual exam yourself, but they will not be automatically highlighted for you as a "hint" feature. We apologize if the use of a highlighter as a graphic was confusing.
