why would the instruments be prestrung before going to decon. how are boxlox being cleaned if they aren't completely open when putting in the washer? we open all clamps and box locks before going in the washer after pretreatment and point of use cleaning.
@betsyrodriguez8064 good question. At point of use instruments should be placed back on the stringer as a courtesy for ease of handling in decon. Instruments are pretreated at point of use and when received in decon, we remove the strung instruments and all other instruments from the basket. We rinse, sort, soak and rinse instruments prior to placing in the washer. When sorting, we do remove all the instruments off the stringer and either transfer onto a decon stringer or stand up in the fully open position in order to get maximum contact during cleaning.
when you receive a tray at decon the instrument tray is still bloody and soiled so do the SPD just dip their hands in the bloody tray or do you disinfectant first??

Theres some places that dont do it , they just pre- rinse it while instruments are still on stringer. Its crazy!
