Hey, I do the same when hitting the water early, is to hit the lights first then go to the designated spots. The colder weather brings them around structure and deeper pockets. I enjoyed the video!
Cool intro Jake! Good stuff & nice Old town. The drives are known to be almost maintenance free, hope you get the same with this one. Congratulations on being a guide, awesome man.
Hey! My father and I have watched your videos for a while, and wanted to book a guide with you. We do have our own boat, and mainly fish out of the rockport area.
I havent, the Old Town has a lifetime warranty and is a robust fishing kayak. Still have the Outback but wanted a substantial backup/loaner for guided trips.
Im pretty impressed so far with how shallow the prop system drafts. Ive had it out in some thick stuff but Ill definitely keep running her through the paces.
Awesome video, I like that new kayak. All of the old town owners I know have zero problems with them. Boats and drives seem bulletproof.
Theyre bullet proof for sure. I heard some intel under the radar on ole Hobie n its not looking favorable

Ziptie a pvc pipe to the steering knob and you can control it with your other hand
Do you think if I made the pipe long enough I could just let someone else steer for me? 🤣
Head shaker! I'm not to sure how I feel about a trout shaking it's head with treble hooks right by your legs in a yak! Gives me PTSD haha
I hear ya, Ive gotten snagged a few times, theyre pretty spunky.
Why did you move away from the Hobie

Just wait till you have to lift the prop up non stop when the floating grass locks the prop up every 10 yards🤦🏼♂️
