To hear Trane’s voice and human ideals is inspiring-for us all to aspire is good!! And his playing inspires even more as he shares his continual reaching to beauty!!
So many artists back then were incredibly enlightened without any media telling them Truths. They received information in Spirit or by having mentors or books…
John expresses the wisdom of a Bodhisattva: he devoted his life to be a positive force for all other beings, and did so by taking care of himself and doing what he believed, trusting that all this energy would emanate through his music and do Good in whoever listens - even if they wouldn't get it the first time. If he decided to go more commercial, certainly this essence would be dissolved and his message wouldn't get through. I wish he could see that decades after, indeed he positively influenced thousands of people!
Thanks for this video! Minor correction of some of the chapter timestamps - Its easily understood 2:58 - 3:19-3:59 is a whole another clip - Get in shape 4:19
Thank you for putting your film together like this, too hear ‘Trane’s speaking voice, and it’s content is so fascinating, loved his compositions and his playing, he was and is the Father of us,,,,,his music and his musicanship…..Forever inspirational
John Coltrane is my favorite saxman 😊... there's no one past or present that moves me like John... from his work wih Miles, to hear him with Johnny Hartman and Duke Ellington and his last eight years of life with his own bands and players Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, McCoy, P.Sanders and so many other greats... he was just a beautiful musician 🎶
john had a voracious appetite to know things, he felt the pursuit to know god was the greatest of those endeavors and i don't think he was slighted in the end.
If i only had a time machine, seeing people like John, Miles, Nina even Muhammad Ali etc. Artists and sports people were better back then. Nowadays they call you fantastic, wonderful and the best thats ever done it when you do something mundane..🤔✌🏾
🪷Coltrane wanted to take the right path, to free himself from suffering by changing, to evacuate the poisons of life, anger, greed, ignorance, to find inner peace and free himself from his demons. Practice generosity, compassion, and love. Music was a companion in all the sufferings of his life and finally found in it a beautiful lotus flower which by its purity sings a happy melody. ❤🛎️🙏
I examined the poets, and I look on them as people whose talent overawes both themselves and others, people who present themselves as wise men and are taken as such, when they are nothing of the sort. From poets, I moved to artists. No one was more ignorant about the arts than I; no one was more convinced that artists possessed really beautiful secrets. However, I noticed that their condition was no better than that of the poets and that both of them have the same misconceptions. *- Socrates.*
John Coltrane was druq addicted ..had no discipline ..he failed :/ He used music to get fame and to make profit ..he also failed here :/ Whoever takes druqs and even for only 1 week ..has no respect towards his own body
@blank......interesting insight. The last 4 to 5 presidents of the US have all been drug addicts and drug traffickers. None of them where part of any revolutions or revelations in the arts. I would rather sit and speak with Coltrane before I would ever sit and speak with 90% of all the worlds leaders. So, you are somewhat right, and somewhat wrong.....more wrong than right though. I mean if you hate Black people, just say that. Because we are sensing you are being a jealous hater, don't be a coward as well.
Coltrane was a humble servant of music and humanity ❤
He was, and still is.

He sounds so much like Denzel!
No he doesn't just because they look alike doesn't mean they sound alike damn @@tdcaudio
@@mrlofi333 what are you talking about dude? They sound wayyyyyy more alike than they look...like worlds more. You need glasses and hearing aids?
really I don't think they look that much alike, where exactly do you even get that?@@mrlofi333

Well said
That's very true and respectful.
The words media and truth is the ultimate oxymoron.
That’s what I strive to be as a musician spiritually there
@ltgyrl909, and this drove Wal-Mart Jesus just crazy.
May his memory be for a blessing
Thank you God for blessing us with Coltrane
Ameen

There are bad forces here that bring suffering to others and misery to the world. I want to be a force which is truly for good.

Facts!
Coltrane is one of the greatest jazz musicians ever but we shouldn’t be duped into thinking this is insightful.

Coltrane wanted to be a car designer if he'd had more access...let that sink in.
Anyone here as a result of Andre' 3000's latest project? Just curious.
