DUTY RON I am so so glad that you and Ed do not water down this information about this case and others. I worked in forensic pathology for awhile and it was the most interesting job I ever had. It's been so informative hearing how this guy planned everything and now LE can link everything together. All of his planning is completely drawn out! With all of his intelligence eventually he dropped a pot of gold into the laps of LE! I bet he was one sick puppy😂 Again, thank you for giving us everything without blurring it out . I had a horrible mother and never turned into a serial killer. I was definitely a better mother than she ever was. She was capable of terrible things. That just made me want to do better than her in every way. There's no excuse for his actions.
Because I recognized that my mom didn't have a clue how to be a mom, I studied how to be a good mom from the time I was young. I made mistakes, but I kept learning and trying harder.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER: The question in my mind is, when will the Suffolk County Police Chief and DA get together and decide to charge Rex's daughter, Victoria, with being an accomplice to multiple murder? Rex was arrested on circumstantial evidence, cell phone tower records, a witness identification of a large hulking man, an ogre in a 1st generation Chevy Avalanche and a hair of Rex found through DNA analysis on at least one of the Gilgo Beach victims' bodies. I think it was just one hair of Rex's. However, through DNA analysis, the DA's office said that several hairs belonging to the Heuerman women, mom and/or daughter Victoria, were found multiple times in multiple instances on multiple victims' bodies along Gilgo Beach. Add to that the many morbid and ghastly drawings and bloody and grisly paintings as created by Victoria in which it appears she drew and/or painted her father while he tortured, mutilated, murdered and dismembered his victims in his torture dungeon of a basement, then any investigator has to piece this together to realize Victoria was present at the scene of these crimes because she painted them in real time as if her eyes were the lens of a video camera when she made this snuff art. She even painted Rex wearing a green shirt, much like the one he wore in one of his arrest photos. While DA Ray Tierney does have experienced prosecuting drug dealers and some murderers, he has never once prosecuted a serial killers or a serial killer team. That's right, there have been serial killer duos in the past, in Florida, Texas, Los Angeles, etc. And there have been teen-age girls in the past before who were arrested for having a hand in a spree of violent murders. These kinds of sadistic sex and torture/mutilation/murder crimes are sometimes a result of Satanic cult involving devil worship and other bizarre cult rituals, as happened in Matamoros, Mexico in the late 1980's when a young American med student was abducted from Brownsville, Texas by a Mexican devil cult and taken to an isolated farm at night for the sole purpose of being a human sacrifice in the most brutal way imaginable. Even worse occurred inside the Heuermann home but so far, DA Tierney does not seem to be able to think 'out of the box' in that he hasn't been able to fathom how a teen girl like Victoria could be so easily led by her deranged father into conspiring with him by her participating in some of the serial killings DA Tierney has attributed solely to Rex thus far. Those who doubt Victoria's role in these murders cannot imagine it, claiming that if you went back to 1992 or '93, she would have been too young. But would she have been too young from 2007 and onward? I don't think so. I think as Rex got older and more out of shape, he needed help in these killings and Victoria, likely already obsessed with creating art that graphically depicts young women being tortured and killed, was ripe for the occasion, provided her father agree to allow her to draw and paint his grisly deeds as he carried them out in their basement. If that was the case, then Victoria is complicit in her father's many murders because she aided and abetted him. She did nothing to stop him from committing these heinous acts, she could have phoned 911 and reported what she knew to police but she did not. She could have ran to a neighbor's house for help but again, she failed to take action that could have saved those girls' lives. Instead, what did Victoria do? She got oil and acrylic and water color paints, drawing pads and canvas boards and drew and painted terrified young women as Rex bound them, beat them, torture them, mutilated them, raped them, slaughtered them and dismembered them. ART IMITATES LIFE: There was Victoria, probably wearing an artist's smock over her clothing so she wouldn't get paint on them. There she was, with paint brushes and wooden palette, asking Rex to position his victims a certain way so he could pose for her as she dipped her brush in the paint and began her works of snuff art. Who knows? Maybe there is the blood of the victims on some of Victoria's paintings and all DA Tierney thinks is that it was red paint. Maybe the paint on those paintings should be tested for blood and DNA. The other thing DA Tierney should do is have all of Victoria's paintings X-rayed to see if she painted hidden images beneath the surface images of her paintings. He might be able to decipher a hidden clue, a hint, anything that could provide him with additional information. After the death of the great artist Picasso, it was discovered that some of his paintings, once X-rayed, contained hidden images Picasso either inadvertently or purposely concealed beneath a layer of paint in his finished paintings. Sometimes he would start a painting but then want to change it completely before he got any further. So rather than throw the canvas board away and get a new one, Picasso would simply paint a colored background on the canvas board and then use various other colors in which to paint his surreal images that he was famous for. Picasso could even have painted words on the canvas board the first time around, wait for the paint to dry, then paint over the words with a new layer of paint and new imagery and no one would realize he had concealed a hidden message or hidden image beneath the second layer of paint on that canvas board. What if Victoria had painted the words, "My father, the killer', on one of her canvas boards, concealed beneath a new layer of paint and other imagery? The police wouldn't know it unless they X-rayed the painting. Then and only then could the hidden message or image be revealed and seen for what it is. It is worth a shot. Apart from that, I still say the DA has a good chance of charging Victoria as being an accomplice to her father's crimes. At best, she can be charged as being an accessory to the fact. At worst, she can be charged with being an accessory after the fact. Tierney must have the courage to take a chance with a trial jury rather than opt out for an easy plea deal with this family of devils. Would you want Victoria walking the streets free, if you lived on her block? Tierney must remember this; he only found one hair belonging to Rex on one of the bodies the cops found. But the cops found multiple hairs of Victoria's on multiple bodies of those victims. It is all circumstantial but it the dots are connecting in this case. What Tierney should do is consult with law enforcement around the nation who had extensive experience investigating serial killers, especially serial killer teams because he is going into this blind and feeling his way around. He can't afford to be walking in the weeds, lost and think he should simply go after the father and leave it at that. He'll only be doing half the job.

There are certain times when people don't think clearly. To him, this was his "normal" sex act. His wife must have noticed when he would be more aggressive, then more gentle, or no intimacy at all. You would think that she would have thought he had someone on the side... nobody thinks something like this.
The thing with these monsters who are so addicted to all these sick actions, is that they are also continually fantasizing and reliving their sick crimes. So, even if he is researching and making detailed notes as to how to make sure not to leave any evidence behind...he is going to want to WAIT until the last minute to actually get rid of those trophies, toys and torture devices that he is so attached to. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Right now, the most prolific American serial killer is Samuel Little. He could remember 90 women, but there may have been more. It's impossible to comprehend how a human being could do such terrible things.

Because his wife would take her children to Iceland for extended vacations, a month or even a whole summer. He had plenty of time to play killer of small women. Just like many of these serial killers send the family away for a break, so they are free to kill.

Look up Janice Fullam. She is still missing. She was same age as Rex and disappeared his senior year of high school in Long Island in an area (Hauppauge), where I believe Rex also picked up at least one victim.

Rexter kept notes, to-do lists, and what not to do lists. I feel like he would have kept a list of his victims complete with dates, times and specifics. I think he would look at that as his list of accomplishments. It might be in code or hidden somewhere he believes it will never be found but I really think that list exists. I think there are so many more.
He can't mount a credible insanity plea for a long list of obvious reasons, starting with how comprehensive and well thought out that list is and the number of years he meticuloudly carried out one murder after another while simultaneously holding down a professional job which required a high-level of sanity every day.

I'm not so sure anyone in the family knew. These guys are incredibly good at hiding their serial killer side. We like to think that we would be able to spot someone like this, certainly from close up (it makes us feel safer), but the fact is we can't. BTK's family was completely unaware. These guys have spent their entire life learning how to fool people and they're very good at it. A spouse might think that he was having an affair, but let's face it, most of us are never going to jump to the conclusion that our spouse is a serial killer. Let's not blame women for the horrible things that men do. Also, read Kerri Rawson's (BTK's daughter) book.

Great show. I have to wonder how far his murders go back. Do we really think Sandra Costilla was the first? I find that hard to believe that he started murdering in his 30's. It is very disturbing and heartbreaking how evil one human being can be to others. My heart goes out to the victims and their families and all the unknown victims.
My question exactly. How did they miss ALL of those electronic devices, or did they? Giving the incredible number of them, perhaps they collected all of them in round one of the search and had exacted enough actionable information to conduct search 2, but this time looking for specific things, like those push pin holes in the ceiling or adhesive residue ... or roles of duct tape, lye residue, etc. I doubt we'll ever know how many people this monster terrified, gruesomely tortured and murdered, but it has to be dozens. That 1993 murder wasn't likely his first. And the LE guy (DA?) who refused to let the FBI intervene is culpable if not directly involved in some way with Huermen. Hundreds or thousands of copies of that document/report should be made and every time a woman is arrested for prostitution, she should be given a copy for complimentary reading during her overnight stay in the jail. Upon release, she should be given information on gov funded skills training programs which include room and board during training and internship and job placement assistance. That report should be enough to scare any woman out of the profession if they have another viable option to earn a living.

I know people are upset about the documentary Asa is involved in. She has an adult daughter who works. She has a son who is Special Needs, and she's going thru cancer treatment. And now the main financial support is in jail. So I understand why she's doing it, that's all. And I was taught to wait until evidence is presented, then speculate, not the other way around. I don’t believe he stopped in 2010. He started in the 90’s and his victims were not discovered until 2010. No way did he just stop then. He had found a new DS and a way to abduct his victims. How many sex workers in the approximate area have been listed as missing since 2010? What about other States or places he visited?

He has been covering this case for a very long time and has questioned whether Rex Heuermann was the Route 29 Stalker. Nathan talks about Rex's trips out to his mother & his brother & father. He also talks about a Catholic priest that owned a house next to where Shannon Gilbert died. Not all his videos are still up but his research is solid.
THE LONG ISLAND CHAIN SAW MASSACRE: I am wondering if the list Rex compiled, of what to do, especially after a murder, was intended as instructions for his daughter to follow. These are not just notes to himself but actual instructions, as though intended for another person to follow up on maybe because Rex was too exhausted after he brutalized, tortured, raped and murdered his young victims and then, with some of them, dismembered them. Seems to me his daughter lent a helping hand to him because maybe she too was obsessed with death and everything associated with that. Look at her paintings and drawings of scenes depicting sexual depravity, torture, mutilated bodies of women, etc. They prove to me the images were a window created by the daughter's bizarre and morbid artistic ability. The images she created were a lens into what her father had done, implying she was right there in Rex's dungeon when these murders were occurring and may have aided her father to that end. People like the Heuermanns have split personalities. They can put up a front to appear one way while there is yet a secondary, fiendish personality lurking within them, just beneath the surface that propels them to commit acts of evil. This is a hugely desensitized family, devoid of the normal kinds of emotions typical families have, such as guilt, remorse and empathy. The victims were treated more as objects and less as human beings. But what gave Rex the right to end their lives and so brutally? And as far as his daughter's drawings and paintings of the carnage he committed, they themselves are an admission or confession by the daughter that she, at least, knew these things were going on and/or that she helped Rex get rid of the evidence, thus obstructing justice. But even more chilling, she herself may have also been into torture, rape, mutilation and, murder. Maybe this is a family of devil worshipers. One thing is for sure, if you own a home on that block where the Heuermann home is, it will be a very long time before you could sell it. The property values on that street have sunk to an all time low, thanks to Rex.
Thank God for this team of detectives and DA for the work that they have done and hopefully are continuing to do. If they know dates of every time the wife and family went out of town then look at those dates and cases of missing people and dig deeper. My heart goes out to all the families of these young victims.

I heard he was bullied in school, his father passed away when he was twelve, and his mother was a “controlling and domineering” presence in the home. Everyone at school knew he had a difficult home life. He purchased his childhood home from his mother in 1994. I've heard it postulated that his first marriage and his mother moving out of the house, both in 1993, may have been a triggering factor.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER: The question in my mind is, when will the Suffolk County Police Chief and DA get together and decide to charge Rex's daughter, Victoria, with being an accomplice to multiple murder? Rex was arrested on circumstantial evidence, cell phone tower records, a witness identification of a large hulking man, an ogre in a 1st generation Chevy Avalanche and a hair of Rex found through DNA analysis on at least one of the Gilgo Beach victims' bodies. I think it was just one hair of Rex's.
However, through DNA analysis, the DA's office said that several hairs belonging to the Heuerman women, mom and/or daughter Victoria, were found multiple times in multiple instances on multiple victims' bodies along Gilgo Beach.
Add to that the many morbid and ghastly drawings and bloody and grisly paintings as created by Victoria in which it appears she drew and/or painted her father while he tortured, mutilated, murdered and dismembered his victims in his torture dungeon of a basement, then any investigator has to piece this together to realize Victoria was present at the scene of these crimes because she painted them in real time as if her eyes were the lens of a video camera when she made this snuff art.
She even painted Rex wearing a green shirt, much like the one he wore in one of his arrest photos. While DA Ray Tierney does have experienced prosecuting drug dealers and some murderers, he has never once prosecuted a serial killers or a serial killer team. That's right, there have been serial killer duos in the past, in Florida, Texas, Los Angeles, etc. And there have been teen-age girls in the past before who were arrested for having a hand in a spree of violent murders.
These kinds of sadistic sex and torture/mutilation/murder crimes are sometimes a result of Satanic cult involving devil worship and other bizarre cult rituals, as happened in Matamoros, Mexico in the late 1980's when a young American med student was abducted from Brownsville, Texas by a Mexican devil cult and taken to an isolated farm at night for the sole purpose of being a human sacrifice in the most brutal way imaginable.
Even worse occurred inside the Heuermann home but so far, DA Tierney does not seem to be able to think 'out of the box' in that he hasn't been able to fathom how a teen girl like Victoria could be so easily led by her deranged father into conspiring with him by her participating in some of the serial killings DA Tierney has attributed solely to Rex thus far.
Those who doubt Victoria's role in these murders cannot imagine it, claiming that if you went back to 1992 or '93, she would have been too young. But would she have been too young from 2007 and onward? I don't think so.
I think as Rex got older and more out of shape, he needed help in these killings and Victoria, likely already obsessed with creating art that graphically depicts young women being tortured and killed, was ripe for the occasion, provided her father agree to allow her to draw and paint his grisly deeds as he carried them out in their basement. If that was the case, then Victoria is complicit in her father's many murders because she aided and abetted him.
She did nothing to stop him from committing these heinous acts, she could have phoned 911 and reported what she knew to police but she did not. She could have ran to a neighbor's house for help but again, she failed to take action that could have saved those girls' lives.
Instead, what did Victoria do? She got oil and acrylic and water color paints, drawing pads and canvas boards and drew and painted terrified young women as Rex bound them, beat them, torture them, mutilated them, raped them, slaughtered them and dismembered them.
ART IMITATES LIFE: There was Victoria, probably wearing an artist's smock over her clothing so she wouldn't get paint on them. There she was, with paint brushes and wooden palette, asking Rex to position his victims a certain way so he could pose for her as she dipped her brush in the paint and began her works of snuff art. Who knows? Maybe there is the blood of the victims on some of Victoria's paintings and all DA Tierney thinks is that it was red paint. Maybe the paint on those paintings should be tested for blood and DNA.
The other thing DA Tierney should do is have all of Victoria's paintings X-rayed to see if she painted hidden images beneath the surface images of her paintings. He might be able to decipher a hidden clue, a hint, anything that could provide him with additional information.
After the death of the great artist Picasso, it was discovered that some of his paintings, once X-rayed, contained hidden images Picasso either inadvertently or purposely concealed beneath a layer of paint in his finished paintings. Sometimes he would start a painting but then want to change it completely before he got any further.
So rather than throw the canvas board away and get a new one, Picasso would simply paint a colored background on the canvas board and then use various other colors in which to paint his surreal images that he was famous for.
Picasso could even have painted words on the canvas board the first time around, wait for the paint to dry, then paint over the words with a new layer of paint and new imagery and no one would realize he had concealed a hidden message or hidden image beneath the second layer of paint on that canvas board.
What if Victoria had painted the words, "My father, the killer', on one of her canvas boards, concealed beneath a new layer of paint and other imagery? The police wouldn't know it unless they X-rayed the painting. Then and only then could the hidden message or image be revealed and seen for what it is. It is worth a shot.
Apart from that, I still say the DA has a good chance of charging Victoria as being an accomplice to her father's crimes. At best, she can be charged as being an accessory to the fact. At worst, she can be charged with being an accessory after the fact. Tierney must have the courage to take a chance with a trial jury rather than opt out for an easy plea deal with this family of devils. Would you want Victoria walking the streets free, if you lived on her block?
Tierney must remember this; he only found one hair belonging to Rex on one of the bodies the cops found. But the cops found multiple hairs of Victoria's on multiple bodies of those victims. It is all circumstantial but it the dots are connecting in this case.
What Tierney should do is consult with law enforcement around the nation who had extensive experience investigating serial killers, especially serial killer teams because he is going into this blind and feeling his way around. He can't afford to be walking in the weeds, lost and think he should simply go after the father and leave it at that. He'll only be doing half the job.

Rexter kept notes, to-do lists, and what not to do lists. I feel like he would have kept a list of his victims complete with dates, times and specifics. I think he would look at that as his list of accomplishments. It might be in code or hidden somewhere he believes it will never be found but I really think that list exists. I'm not so sure anyone in the family knew. These guys are incredibly good at hiding their serial killer side. We like to think that we would be able to spot someone like this, certainly from close up (it makes us feel safer), but the fact is we can't. BTK's family was completely unaware. These guys have spent their entire life learning how to fool people and they're very good at it. A spouse might think that he was having an affair, but let's face it, most of us are never going to jump to the conclusion that our spouse is a serial killer. Let's not blame women for the horrible things that men do. Also, read Kerri Rawson's (BTK's daughter) book.

My question exactly. How did they miss ALL of those electronic devices, or did they? Giving the incredible number of them, perhaps they collected all of them in round one of the search and had exacted enough actionable information to conduct search 2, but this time looking for specific things, like those push pin holes in the ceiling or adhesive residue ... or roles of duct tape, lye residue, etc.
I doubt we'll ever know how many people this monster terrified, gruesomely tortured and murdered, but it has to be dozens. That 1993 murder wasn't likely his first. And the LE guy (DA?) who refused to let the FBI intervene is culpable if not directly involved in some way with Huermen. Hundreds or thousands of copies of that document/report should be made and every time a woman is arrested for prostitution, she should be given a copy for complimentary reading during her overnight stay in the jail. Upon release, she should be given information on gov funded skills training programs which include room and board during training and internship and job placement assistance. That report should be enough to scare any woman out of the profession if they have another viable option to earn a living.

I know people are upset about the documentary Asa is involved in. She has an adult daughter who works. She has a son who is Special Needs, and she's going thru cancer treatment. And now the main financial support is in jail. So I understand why she's doing it, that's all. And I was taught to wait until evidence is presented, then speculate, not the other way around. I don’t believe he stopped in 2010. He started in the 90’s and his victims were not discovered until 2010. No way did he just stop then. He had found a new DS and a way to abduct his victims. How many sex workers in the approximate area have been listed as missing since 2010? What about other States or places he visited?

@DutyRon you should consider interviewing "True Crime with Nathan Adams" from here on YT. He has been covering this case for a very long time and has questioned whether Rex Heuermann was the Route 29 Stalker. Nathan talks about Rex's trips out to his mother & his brother & father. He also talks about a Catholic priest that owned a house next to where Shannon Gilbert died. Not all his videos are still up but his research is solid.

THE LONG ISLAND CHAIN SAW MASSACRE: I am wondering if the list Rex compiled, of what to do, especially after a murder, was intended as instructions for his daughter to follow. These are not just notes to himself but actual instructions, as though intended for another person to follow up on maybe because Rex was too exhausted after he brutalized, tortured, raped and murdered his young victims and then, with some of them, dismembered them.
Seems to me his daughter lent a helping hand to him because maybe she too was obsessed with death and everything associated with that. Look at her paintings and drawings of scenes depicting sexual depravity, torture, mutilated bodies of women, etc. They prove to me the images were a window created by the daughter's bizarre and morbid artistic ability.
The images she created were a lens into what her father had done, implying she was right there in Rex's dungeon when these murders were occurring and may have aided her father to that end. People like the Heuermanns have split personalities. They can put up a front to appear one way while there is yet a secondary, fiendish personality lurking within them, just beneath the surface that propels them to commit acts of evil.
This is a hugely desensitized family, devoid of the normal kinds of emotions typical families have, such as guilt, remorse and empathy. The victims were treated more as objects and less as human beings. But what gave Rex the right to end their lives and so brutally?
And as far as his daughter's drawings and paintings of the carnage he committed, they themselves are an admission or confession by the daughter that she, at least, knew these things were going on and/or that she helped Rex get rid of the evidence, thus obstructing justice.
But even more chilling, she herself may have also been into torture, rape, mutilation and, murder. Maybe this is a family of devil worshipers. One thing is for sure, if you own a home on that block where the Heuermann home is, it will be a very long time before you could sell it. The property values on that street have sunk to an all time low, thanks to Rex.
Thank God for this team of detectives and DA for the work that they have done and hopefully are continuing to do. If they know dates of every time the wife and family went out of town then look at those dates and cases of missing people and dig deeper. My heart goes out to all the families of these young victims.
This trial is going to be huge.

I heard he was bullied in school, his father passed away when he was twelve, and his mother was a “controlling and domineering” presence in the home. Everyone at school knew he had a difficult home life. He purchased his childhood home from his mother in 1994. I've heard it postulated that his first marriage and his mother moving out of the house, both in 1993, may have been a triggering factor.
