Thanks so much! I'm glad your enjoying them 😊I really do think splitting them is going to be a viable solution since the fabric and design initially was so lovely.
they are so cute!! I agree sometimes dresses could be a little ¨too much¨, but by spitting into two parts, they look much more modern and wearable (even though I'm still a fan of that dress which makes me want to go out for a picnic 🌻)
I adore this refashion! The top is lovely on you and i think it came out perfect. the skirt is lovely and your right, it would make a nice soft petticoat! Just came across your channel today and i'm loving your videos!
I just discovered your channel and OMG I love you!! Love your clothes and your spirit. I have a feeling I'm going to learn a lot from you and I can't wait!!!!
Great idea. I have a m7998 in a crazy fabric that is just too much as a dress. I will split it into a blousy top and a flouncy skirt to see if I can use both more often. Love your new skirt and the cropped shirt. Yes agree, never throw out scraps. Lol😂
That sounds like a great idea! I hope you have success in that too, it was so satisfying to remake this dress into something wearable. & yes! Must save those scraps 😆
- Bodice #m8102 - Sleeves #m7838 view C (the cuffs are shirred instead of being joined using a button placket) - Collar #m8180 - Skirt - vintage Kwik Sew pattern
Much better as separates, not so overwhelming. Now I see you first with either of them instead of seeing the DRESS then you. Nicely done
Exactly! You put it perfectly, the dress before was wearing me LOL.
What a great move. The two pieces are awesome
Thanks so much!
You were spot on with those as separates!!! I love how you have transformed something you made and like to something you Loved.
Thank you so much!!
That first dress is giving me a 'Belle' from Beauty & the Beast vibe, it's so pretty! Loving it as a top & skirt.
I can totally see that! 😊
Love the transformation of the dress and your energy - so positive even when you make "mistakes" that just make the skirt better. Thanks for sharing.
You are such a neat seamstress ! I love watching and learning from your techniques ✨
Thanks so much! It makes me so happy to hear the videos are useful 😊
Super cute! I love the look of the top with the jeans, and your skirt is super cute. Enjoy the expansion of your wardrobe!
Thank you so much!!
Love this as a skirt! Knocked it out of the park again!
Thank you!! I feel like i cheated slightly b/c I didn't really 'tailor' anything but I think I've definitely made them wearable.
Splitting the dress into two pieces was the perfect solution! I love watching your tutorials!

I totally agree! The initial dress was definitely perfect for frolicking (which this city girl - unfortunately - does none of LOL).
I absolutely love the resulting two pieces.🫶🏾

Thanks for subbing! & yes I believe thrifted bed-sheets are the best kept sewing secret, such an affordable way to get large yardage of fabrics!
