Another excellent appeal to what sanity is left in the world. I was at the march on Saturday, and I'm glad to reassure that there's plenty more sanity than television lets us think there is.
All these images of children dying is truly horrific and shocking. Saw on X a father running barefooted with his daughter in his arms to the hospital, but it was too late, the medics place her on the floor she had head injury it was so horrendous to see her laying there lifeless.
I've cried so much seeing all these deaths, it's really distressing, feel your pain. Agree it seems they want to push the surviving Palestinians into the Negev Desert.(If there will be any survivors left)

I saw that person on Twitter, and OMG. So messed up. I'm equally disappointed in the same people you are tbh. And it's fair in my opinion to express that. There's nothing wrong with wanting people to speak up, IMO. I'm trying to do so myself. Sending you all the love and good energy.
I get the frustration. I'm a pagan witch, and seeing many of those the pagan and witchcraft communities be so silent (far from all though, there are plenty who are) when so many of our gods/myths/history are about justice and fighting against unjust systems is astounding. On a less serious note I'm a big Taylor Swift fan and have been since I was eight years old, and seeing her be silent when so many of her peers are speaking out is also upsetting (I've always had my criticisms of her while still being a fan though lol). Luckily the many (not all) of the swiftie fan accounts I follow have been speaking or at least reposting.
It's hard, but I just maintain that I can't control what others do, and just focus on what I'm doing. Just because I like someones content or art doesn't mean I know them personally or will like everything they do, or in this case, don't do. I can like someone's work and still criticize them. Obviously there's a line where I can't support people anymore, and the line is going to be different for everyone! Ultimately for my own peace of mind and ability to move forward, I gotta keep that balance. I'm going back to therapy for this exact reason 😅

every word you spoke is the truth. i share your anger and frustration. it's been very alienating only having 1-2 irl people that are engaged with the atrocities in palestine that i can speak with. i have lost nearly all respect for some of my closest friends (self-proclaimed "progressives") who have said nothing. i have been watching your channel for years and think the world of you. thank you for speaking out. i know that i feel less alone.
I am enjoying your thoughts in your videos on this topic, Claudia. You obviously are very passionate about this. Just understand that, yea, a lot of people won't care, or will not be talking about this topic, its just how some people are, it doesn't mean they are bad people. They just have other things maybe going on in their lives or things to think about. Maybe its just taking place too far away for some of them to think about, if they are in the United States for example, and they just don't think about foreign countries much. Lots of people are like that, actually... Probably half the people never pay any attention to the news these days, for example.

honestly i am glad you're talking about this. i don't know what i can do anymore. i emailed my mp, he seems to want a ceasefire but he also toes the tory party line, so i don't think i helped in any way. i also can't easily make it to protests as a disabled person - i've seen a couple of people with palestinian flags in my city but i've never actually heard anything about protests (ie maybe there was a protest i didn't know about it in time, or maybe those were individuals doing their own thing) - it doesn't seem like anyone in cambridge cares all that much, and i spoke to someone last night who said as much (ie that people in general here tend not to care). i feel helpless, and i'm haunted by the images i've seen on social media, and the knowledge that the journalists i follow are younger than me - in their early 20s, close in age to my little sister. it's all heartbreaking.
The doctor who fans who don't speak up about Palestine are a symptom of a much bigger problem. T.S Eliot said "Humankind cannot very much bear reality". Escapism to a certain level and at certain times is not only healthy. It is also essential. But there have to be boundaries and there have to limits and when a situation like the one in Israel and Palestine is happening all of us - including Dr Who Fans and Lord of the Rings Fans and the Harry Potters and the Classical Music Nerds (that's me!) and people who are fanatical about Manchester United. We all of us need to get heavily into reality and say enough is enough. What those HAMAS killers did was morally wrong but though very wrong it has been dwarfed by what the Israeli Politicans and the Military have done who have USED the act of Hamas to slaughter and take over Palestine. One of the problems with modern life - especially if one is very wealthy is it has become increasingly easy to escape into some sort of fantasy land or somewhere where the shameful evil of reality does not seem to exist. We can burrow into the internet and social media and netflix and podcasts. For those of us who can afford it we can fly off on an aeroplane somewhere sunny and sexy and exotic. We can go to a restaurant and eat exotic excessive food. And on and on. But when something like Palestine happens we all need to come together and say NO! I will say one more thing Claudia. You need to take good care of yourself both physically and emotionally. You are a very very valuable person and there is only one you. People in Palestine are relying on people like you to speak out so remember to eat well, drink well and get enough sleep. But even more importantly do it for you as well. Sleep is very important. If you have a tendency to mental ill health (which is something biological - not a personality defect or lifestyle choice) then your mood will plummet if you don't spend the right amount of hours in bed asleep. I say this because I care as do so many many other people too.
