If it is a stupid I’m so done funniest workout there is in the best teenage mutant ninja turtles movie but then again I’m so ready for the one this August
im not sure if its widely talked in the franchise but the weapon choices for the turtles by splinter was pretty on point imo. Leonardo is the oldest, the most mature, and is given the katanas. A true dangerous and deadly weapon, and he's trusted to use it if he needs. Raphael is given sai, also known as sword breakers, is mostly defensive weapons. So the one with anger issues has the least dangerous weapon. Donatello is a genuis, the smartest. So he's given a bo staff. Michelangelo is a scatterbrain but has more talent than the other brothers combined, so he's given the nunchucks. Every weapon is a lesson. :)
Another way of looking at it was Leo had skill and brains and muscle, he was the most balanced and best fighter, Raph had more muscle than skill or brains, Donny had more brains than muscle or skill and Mikey had more skill than muscle or brains. Or, "Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines. Raphael is cool but rude and Michelangelo is a party dude!"
Yeah pretty much Leonardo: Since he’s a leader he’s been given The twin katanas symoblising discipline and maturity and also a reminder that there will be a Time that blood will be shed in order to protect his loved ones. Raphael: Being The hot-headed of The brothers he’ll need to learn patience and tanquility, The weapon he has which are The Sais used to be known as farming tools and also able to be defensive. Donnatello: Being The Smartest of his brothers he was given The Bo staff which is The simplest weapon with no blade symbolising that he needs to use his creativity on How to use it while fighting. Michaelangelo: The hyperactive of The group and childish but has more natural talent to fight without thinking at all he was given The most challenging weapon to Master which is The nunchunks to mirror his ability to adapt. Yeah I agree all of them fit with The users
There is that but there is another widely spread theory about the weapons choices given: Leonardo gets the Katana because though he is a great leader, he thinks he can never take a life so the Katana is to teach him that he has to make tough choices. Ralph gets the Sais to teach him to defend himself more than just attack over and over again. Donatello gets the Bo Staff because while he could use tech, it’s his creativity that he must use to use the Bo staff. And finally Mikey gets the nunchucks because not only is he the most skilled buts it’s a while for him to have his focus on one thing and teaching him how to properly use the Weapon.
Or Leo and Raph are opposites. The level headed one is given the only weapon that can kill while the hot head gets the most defensive weapons. Don is the most tech related one so he is given the most simplest weapon. Mikey is easily distracted but is given the most difficult weapon to handle so he needs to focus more.
Thank you, it's not 1 of my personal best TMNT movies of all time but it's much better in quality and visuals more than any of the 90's TMNT movies back then (2 & 3 comes to mind).
Yeah the Turtles are great done like this; Shredder was the one thing that just felt weird for me… However the sequel felt insanely better that this one, at least for me; they even remixed the theme song for the credits💪🏾
So fun fact the guy you said at 17:30 should've been Shredder was originally intended to be Shredder, but due to fan complaints, they changed that aspect of the movie
@@Zeptoid the movie is pretty clunky in pacing, and the shredder is... well.... more like a mini transformer than man lol. But I actually don't mind Megan Fox as April
Fun fact: Alan Richardson the actor who played Ralph in the movie absolutely hated filming the movie and the sequel. Apparently the studio treated him and the rest of the “Turtle” actors badly, were underpaid, and promised they’d make more with the 3rd MOVIE (which never happened).
GOD I love this movie so much. I don't know why cause the whole "no more vigilante thing" doesn't quite make much sense, nor does Leo's antagonistic views on the Nightwatcher since he was gone and someone needed to pick up the slack BUT the fight scenes are pretty good, and the characterization is still on point AND Leo vs Raph is still one of the best TMNT fights ong.
I literally just commented this and glad I wasn’t alone! It’s my personal favorite TMNT movie. Ofc the shows are better though Also it stars an established team as it is a spiritual successor to the older TMNT trilogy
Alan Ritchson said he had a bad experience working on the TMNT series. He spoke about it indepth with Kristian Harloff and Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. The pay was bad and the treatment of the actors was terrible. He had to do the second film due to being contractually obligated.
yes, I remember watching an interview of him talking about it, sucks how they got screwed over when the turtles are literally the main point of the movies.
The 2012 animated series that aired on Nickelodeon was what got me interested in TMNT, the show still holds up imo. Show got pretty dark in the later seasons, pretty dark for a show aimed towards kids.
On God, the 2012 show being slept on to this day by a lot of people. I'm thankful I have a dad that showed me all the og shows (Transformers, TMNT, everything) when I was a kid, because it opened my eyes to all these newer versions coming out when I was growing up.
There are times when I first saw this, I was nitpicking a few things. Then I had to keep reminding myself: "Mutant turtles doing kung fu and are talking...it doesn't have to make sense." My kids loved those two movies and to hear and see their reactions mirror my reactions when I saw the 90s movies is all I can ask for as a Dad.
They wanted to hate this movie so bad and nitpicked every detail. It’s just a fun turtles movie and they watched it like it was supposed to be Oppenheimer
yup. why bother with the reaction if they're hating every minute of it. criticism is fine . they can say whatever they want while reviewing it but to constantly bitch about the realistic aspects of a movie named teenage mutant ninja turtles is ridiculous.
@@nitinmathew5391like when Aaron asked if turtle shells were bullet proof. Like bro does he not understand that they aren’t regular turtles. They are mutant turtles
If you guys haven't read this already, the movie was HEAVILY modified from what it originally was. The reason shredder felt so sidelined was because originally the other villain, who you guys liked, was meant to be shredder in a twist, but once the secret leaked, the movie got intense backlash from the fans at the time leading the studio to completely redo a large portion of the script and they recast shredder. Also the turtles were originally going to be aliens but once again the secret leaked and the fans hated it so they had to once again rewrite the script and they ended up connecting them to April. If the movie feels conflicting its likely because the script was rewritten multiple times for the fans
I feel like that "thing" is happening. You know, the kinda'thing where one person doesn't like a movie or show because of a couple of flaws, and then the other person accompanying them who sees the show/move for what it is, enjoys it more, but because of the other person ranking on it decides to keep all positive comments to themselves and only shares negative ones, and progressively gets just as critical as the other person who kinda hates the movie/show. That kinda "thing".
I think that people start to hate this movie after knowing it was produced by Bay. It's a decent fun summer action movie. The visuals are cool and I personally dig the live-action design.
The reason the William Fichtner character felt like more of the main villain is because HE WAS supposed to be Shredder. 💯 Greg was right at first. I’m not 100% clear on the backstory (fan complaints or something) but he definitely was originally supposed to be revealed as Shredder. That’s why most of Shredder’s scenes look like reshoots. 💯💯
I watched both movies again a few days back, and being a turtle fan i loved these films. What I didn't like in the second film was that they shrunk the turtles and made them more human size. I preferred the hulking versions of them that gave them the Mutant feel but downsizing them they just looked odd.
I dont like the hulking size, makes them look too strong. If they are too strong they dont really need their weapons and ninja skills since they can destroy literally any human enemy with their strength
Dude on the right is just bored, the movie was fun though. I don't think it was trying to do anything new or groundbreaking, just giant ninja turtles kicking butt, not some masterpiece. Still love the movie...
Fun fact the weapons used by the turtles are direct opposite of what they’re personalities are Raph uses the Sais because they are used for defense and he’s more aggressive and always wanting to fight Donnie is a tech wiz and really smart so he just has a stick Leo is the most reserved and not prone to being aggressive like Raph so he’s given the katanas and Mikey has adhd and is extremely erratic and can’t focus on one thing so he was given nunchucks to better contain his focus which also makes him the strongest turtle and why he was the last Ronin In the comics
I like it, feels like there really supermutants and not just humanoid turtles I haven’t seen any other tmnt media that gives them super strength like these two movies did which kinda sucks cuz if the plot and writing were more solid these movies coulda been way better
@@Hunts-so1jb I think they needed to be a bit slower if they're going to be that large, it looks odd to see how fast they move, and fodder enemies need buffed as well. Give them all power suits of specialized weapons of some sort, because the Turtles are basically Hulks, and 4 Hulks vs anything is hard to write around.
It's fitting given they have always been super strong and being human size would be weird and almost worse being it would look more like people in costumes, with that said though, it worked for the original 90's movies where they could hide in plain sight using a trench coat and a hat. I guess it's like Afleck Batman vs Pattison Batman... could Pattison Batman take on Superman? So what kind of movie do you want, realism or way over the top? Both! 😁
@@republicofcasuals So going by your logic here, Batman needs to be buff in order to take out Superman? Yeah I guess Batman doesn't need intelligent to fight Superman at all. lmao Sounds like you know nothing about the character and thinks strength is everything.
I don't care what anyone says I like the design and choreography of the turtles and splinter, the story flow and concept was kinda weird but I'm not going to have a negative attitude about it
It’s nice seeing how many people say they really liked this movie in these comments. I thought I was crazy for liking it after hearing so much hate lol
"Cause shells can do that..." They're fuckin MUTANTS bruh! Jesus. Just have the fun that they're giving to you and stop trying to find negative things just to be negative. That's how I felt 90% of the time watching this one. It's serious yet fun... that's what they were going for and accomplished.
You can tell Aaron hated this movie from start to finish lol. Maybe skip the 2nd one if you dislike this one xD. There are things I enjoyed it in it and had to remind myself it was marketed towards kids. I remember kids losing it during the comedic moments in the theaters.
My first ever exposure to TMNT was the 2003 animated series I have loved them ever since. I'd be lying if I said I like these movies but I hope you guys had fun.
OMG same! The 2003 series will always hold a special place in my heart. I watched the entire show, but on rewatches I only go up to season 5 cause after that I just didn't like the story as much. The animation style looking cleaner and newer was fine, but the fast forward era was just....ehh. Turtles Forever feels like much more of a conclusion to the show than the actual show did lol. Also I absolutely love Donatello in that show, it's the best iteration of him. He doesn't feel like JUST the nerd-he can hold his own and he's the glue that holds everyone together.
I'm surprised that the Turtle actors themselves actually decided to come back for the sequel because apparently they were treated very poorly while shooting this movie
Well literally right below your comment is another comment saying that Alan ritchinson spoke about his bad experience on this movie and that they were contractually obligated to film the 2 bc one unfortunately soo that sucks
This movie was a childhood memory of my that I loved so much!! While many people hated this movie, I loved it so much!!! I was 14 at the time this movie came out and I was obsessed with this movie and the 2012 animated series that came out at the same time as as when this movie came out and I was going from middle school to high school. It came out the weekend before I was going into high school. I was so obsessed with this movie I couldn’t wait for the physical and digital release of this movie and I ended up watching this movie with my family 8 times in the theaters. Yeah you saw it right. My first time being the Thursday night showing, going the next day for the second time going in RPX 3D, the third time going in IMAX 3D, the fourth in regular 3D, and the fifth-eighth times in regular 2D with my family. I barely had any friends and I felt like this is the closest I had to having siblings when I would watch them every week on TV with the series and every Friday with the movie before buying it on digital. This brings back so many memories because this was the first digital movie I bought on my first iPhone. So many memories.
I love this movie so much. It bothers me that so many people don’t like it. They really stepped it up tub the 2nd one though. You guys are in for a great time.
I actually love the designs of the turtles in this movie, I don’t understand all the criticisms saying that they’re “ugly” like what did you expect human sized mutant turtles to look like in real life? Cute?
You guys will actually like the second one a lot more because it cuts down th more serious tone of a Michael Bay movie and more like the 90's cartoon come to life.
Knowing Michael Bay is involved I'm always amused at people picking on the stye. This happens with many directors and producers. _Oppenheimer_ just recently went through it for being a Christopher Nolan film. Tim Burton for producing _Nightmare Before Christmas_ I even once saw a John Woo movie get picked on for dove useage and JJ Abrams for lens flares. It boggles my mind and confuses me to the point of amusement. These are things I expect going into their films. About all these directors and producers. When the question "how" was asked in this video about a director and producer who does "turn your brain off movies" (for use of a better phrase), I just 🤣
If I remember correctly, 🤔 this movie was actually just going to be called "Ninja Turtles" but of course, there was an internet uproar 🙄 so they added the "Teenage Mutant" part back in right before it's theatrical release.
“Why would shredder use the nunchucks?” Well, Imagine your enemy, mid fight, steals and wields your own shitty weapon better than you and beats your ass with it, that is generational level of disrespect
If Michael Bay just directed the action choreography and had better people writing scripts and directing the other bits, he could make some great movies
@@MrsplifferdoodleHe didn’t direct this nor the sequel, but he did produced both of them though. That’s why it was giving me Transformers vibes. Not to mention he was the one who cast Megan Fox as April O’ Neil. They ended their frauds after when she made a Adolf Hitler jokes about him which caused her to get fired from doing the 3rd Transformers film
Mech Shredder doesn't really bother me. How else do you plan on taking down four 10 foot genetically mutated turtles with super strength? I think it makes more sense in the live action version.
William Fichtner was supposed to be the Shredder, but that got leaked and was heavily criticized so then the other actor was added with him being the real Shredder. Those scenes were all rewrites.
It was announced the William fichtner was Shredder. Fans lost it and hated the idea of a white shredder. My thought is that there was a couple scenes shot with another actor and the story was changed so that he was working with the shredder. I think all the CG shredder scenes are supposed be Sachs. He’s even wearing under armor in the end for some reason.
Why are they taking a children's movie so seriously? They went into the movie wanting to hate it, and even in moments where they liked it, they had to find reasons to hate it anyway. It's one of those movies that it's trendy to hate.
I’m going to rant a little bit about this reaction. It honestly seems to me that they’re walking into this movie to hate/not enjoy the movie because “It’s Micheal Bay” I say this because I watched every single Ninja turtles show on release or later in life & this movie is basically like the 2003 version of the turtles that I know they didn’t watch at all. & there’s things in that show that’s replicated here that I enjoyed. The Mec/Iron Man like Shredder that was in that version that they think is stupid here. & the tone shifting that they complain about is exactly the same tone as the 90’s movie of the same name. I get that this version of the turtles are not what they look for in the turtles BUT the funny thing is what they’re looking for is the 90’s cartoon Essentially which truly annoys me because they’re so many versions of the turtles besides that. Is literally like the Superman argument. People want Superman to be Christopher Reeve so much that any different version of that character on screen it causes controversy & anger without realizing that Superman is 100 years old with amazing different versions of the character.
The green scarf guy was such a Debbie downer. This film is fun. I won't be taking it too seriously. The turtles looked amazing, and if you're stuck on "are turtle shells bulletproof," obviously not, but heres fruit for thought.... they can't talk either, nor can they run or fight with swords. These turtles are mutants. Therefore, let's give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe ?
The funniest way to tell that this movie had HEAVY reshoots and rewrites late into the process is that “Eric Sacks” is literally an anglicization for “Oroku Saki” but he’s still not the shredder in the Final Cut and instead some random guy with barely any lines is.
The guys who voiced the turtles were beyond mistreated during the filming of this and the second one. Not getting compensating them properly. Alan Richardson has publicly voiced his opinion on the filming of this
You have to love the little hint at the “Buck-Buck” that the only way it’d work is to use all four brothers. So who was their opponent? You can argue and say it was a dummy but it’s better to imagine Splinter let their “combo” move work because it was all 4 bros working together 😬🔥
I will NEVER watch another Reel Rejects reaction with Aaron Alexander..he obviously went into this already with his mind made up to hate this movie. his thought that it was all over the place not understanding comedy mixed with action and seriousness is ridiculous, pretty sure he has seen an MCU movie since he's wearing a Captain America t-shirt. his piss poor attitude overtook the whole reaction and I felt you were just mirroring it because that was the vibe in the room.
I believe for the second film Judith Hoag even filmed scenes opposite Megan Fox and they had released production stills of it years back and never mailed the final cut of film.
Idk why they were hating on the movie I thought it was a really good movie I love the reject nation but it seemed like they were trying to find stuff to hate about it
As a young tmnt fan who grew up with the bayverse tmnt movies, my first instinct is to defend the crappy plotholes. But honestly, I often think about how great the movies COULD have been if they had just stuck with ONE narrative. The moment where y'all talked about Rise of the Beasts and how you wished they had dovetailed the goals of both April and the Turtles (or something along those lines) makes SO much sense, and this movie had SUCH potential to do that and they just didn't. And while the action was definitely heavily packed and interesting, it was definitelyyyy Michael Bay-esqe with how everything seemed to blend in with each other ("visual noise"/monotonous). The relationships in this movie were incredibly lacking, very flat. It's hard to see if there even any chemistry at all, but you can see where they tried. For nostalgia purposes and the fact that I was 9 when this movie came out, definitely entertaining and holds a place in my heart. But honestly, for me, the bayverse tmnt movies are nostalgic and shitty the way Twilight is nostalgic and shitty for twilight fans lmao. Really enjoyed y'all's video and reaction, loved it!! Thank you for sharing :))
After the first comics and 87 turtles TMNT has always for the most part been dramatic and humorous, atleast their most popular iterations have been . Kinda like Spiderman or Nightwing . These movies ae actually pretty cool imo .
I remind you in case we all got lost during the film, they are Ninja... Description: The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, assassination and guerrilla warfare[1]. Their covert methods of unconventional warfare were deemed dishonorable to the samurai caste who observed strict rules regarding honor and combat.
Born in 2003 here. I mainly grew up watching Secret of The Ooze and occasionally the 2007 film. I only saw the original 1990 movie a few times and I’ve only seen Turtles In Time (or TMNT III) once. I have to admit that this 2014 movie is genuinely my favorite. Even with me being almost 20 years old now. I love how relatable the turtles are here. Mainly with their personalities. I can relate to all of them a little bit differently. I love the action in this movie too. Some of, if not the best action I’ve seen in all of the TMNT films. I especially love the snow mountain action scene. I’m even a huge defender of the sequel, TMNT: Out of The Shadows. Out of The Shadows, while being not as good as this one, it still had some great moments. I loved the inclusion of Krang, although he wasn’t in the film very much. I love the representation of Bebop and Rocksteady too. I also love how they brought in the fact of the turtles having to try to be accepted by society. It gives a sense of realism to the TMNT universe. The huge gripe I have with Out of The Shadows, is the casting choice of Tyler Perry. He wasn’t terrible, but was far from good. I’ve always thought the comedy in these movies was absolutely hilarious. Sure, there’s some eye rolling jokes and some comedy that doesn’t land, but it does land for me for the most part. I wish we got a third film with these turtles, but the chances of that happening, seem to be slim to none. Especially now with the release of Mutant Mayhem. Anyways, I’m glad to see some people starting to come around to these two TMNT movies. They get way too much hate and way too little love than they deserve.
17:30 Eric Sacks - see how they referenced the name Oroku Saki there - was planned to be the Shredder. People didn't like a white character replacing an Asian one. Shredder was hastily rehashed into a separate character with his rivalry with the turtles completely sidelining them in their own movie compare to April and Sacks's conflict.
My first introduction to the Turtles was through the 03 series. And because of that series I'll forever love Raphael and Donatello. They're more than just the stereotype versions everyone thinks them to be in that show. Raphael has a ton of layers to him, and poor Donatello goes through the RINGER. Which is a shame they never had him interact with Leo during his depression arc because he's understood pain and loss too via Same as it Never Was and could've connected to Leo with that. But for its faults, it's still to me at least, the best iteration. It balanced comedy and mature themes and tones very well. Which is something no other TMNT show or film has been able to do since. Not even TMNT 2012 because I can't get over Apriltello in that show...god it just killed Donnie's character and made everyone else's characterization suffer. I wish these movies remembered there's more to the turtles than what's just on the surface, BUT it did give us Shell Shocked, the mountain chase scene, the elevator scene, the sequel gave us the river chase scene...ngl they're pretty good pluses in a movie duology full of negatives.
Alan Ritchson who played one of the Turtles (and now plays Jack Reacher) told an amazing story on Collider’s podcast about how horribly mistreated he and the other actors who played the Turtles were. Seriously watch it, you will be surprised that they didn’t quit acting after that shit!
Shredder would have to be unhumanly strong to move in that heap of metal so fluidly. Then again, he was able to rip apart what looks like thick rope while tied up.
This one was a hard watch. I don't have strong feelings about the TMNT movie either way but it definitely got a bit tiresome hearing all the negative comments, had to stop watching halfway through because it didn't even seem like you were having fun or enjoying anything about the film and why would I want to watch you watch something you're not enjoying??
I saw you ask why William Fichtner wasn't just the Shredder. The answer is, he was. The other Shreddder was added and the whole thing was changed in reshoots after manbabies on the internet heard about it.
I think originally Mr Saxx was gonna the shredder, but it leaked online and ran backlash caused them to change it back to Oroku Saki and reshoot parts of the film
Gotta love the irony of this dude on the right, taking himself super seriously and superior (like, it's nauseous to see), being a broken record about how this movie is taking itself way too seriously ! 🤣🤣🤣 Like... L.O.L. This movie attempted to pay homage to both the gritty comic book series and the popular animated series. So it's kind of a combination (or "mutation" 😅) of both things. But haters of this type of movies, always forget that it wasn't meant to be The Joconde of movies ; it's a piece of entertainment that has its qualities and flaws... So you just have to take/judge it for what it is, rather than asking too much from it (for example : asking Aaron to run a marathon now)... Or else of course you're gonna get disappointed by most of the things you experience and ask for from life !
You do know you can pay homage to both those things and still screw up the tone of a scene right? Like if you don’t have a decent balance between the gritty and the other animated series which this movie didn’t at times because it did have scenes trying to be too serious followed by a very unserious tone such as the one with April giving the turtles adrenaline. We get the typical slowmo and then her screaming for them to wake up to which they do and then they just start shouting obscenely and talking about “cleaning the dojo” in a hyper manner all of this while their brother Ralph is getting beat on. The scene could’ve easily had the turtles heart rates start to plummet and April giving them adrenaline in hopes of it working either without the slowmo screaming or with it and then the turtles break out and immediately help their brother out with fighting Shredder. An example of another movie using adrenaline to basically save a person who seems on the verge of death is in the movie “kick ass 2” where Hit-Girl manages to trick Mother Russia into giving her adrenaline so she can beat her, that was a better scene with a serious tone than the scene right here as someone who’s seen both movies it’s not a surprise criticisms were raised about the film’s intentions for certain scenes. I will also say that your last little bit was rather strange because at the end of the day you had the same irony you were nitpicking Aaron about.
They have the voices of adults because of the way reptiles age, especially turtles they don’t usually mature till like 50 that’s when they become sexually mature, which is when you can tell, technically if they are male or female until you are usually guessing. So they can be teenagers until then from our perspective.
once again im dissappointed by the guest reactors John has on the channel. I miss the actual team. All these guest reactors are like, so not into int. Only Cory is the one you can really love to watch as a reactor (besides the actual Rejects). Dudes negative attitude towards this film sucked the enjoyment outta this reaction. (Note: before anyone attacks me, i AM a patron of theirs, and will continue to support my faviroute reaction channel)
Like I forget these guys are screen writers, veterinarians, like bro these guys act like they know so much for being some people who just sit there and react. Like holy just enjoy something for once and you won’t sit there all negative and have no direction.
The 1990 live action Turtles movie is one of my all time favorites! But I actually didn’t mind this one at all, it had some real stakes, and I enjoyed the fight choreography and even the humor wasn’t that bad

Am I weird that I liked this movie more than I did when I was young? I saw this movie once when it was released in theaters.
Nah, it's amazing, idk why people hate it
@@Zeptoid the movie is pretty clunky in pacing, and the shredder is... well.... more like a mini transformer than man lol. But I actually don't mind Megan Fox as April
I can see why to an extent but I still really like these movies
@@TheRibottoStudios I love Shredder in this movie, but I can see if people don't like the metal man
Yeah i also enjoyed this movie especially the cgi
Fun fact: Alan Richardson the actor who played Ralph in the movie absolutely hated filming the movie and the sequel. Apparently the studio treated him and the rest of the “Turtle” actors badly, were underpaid, and promised they’d make more with the 3rd MOVIE (which never happened).
Cause the 3rd one got cancelled. I feel bad for the other actors
Alan ritchson SHOULD be the batman in this new james gunn dc universe/multiverse/whateververse😂
Sounds like a FUN fact lol
If you’ve not seen the TMNT (2007) movie yet then I’d definitely recommend you should watch this because this is amazing!
Still probably my favorite Nolan North role to be honest. He was absolutely brilliant as Raph
It wasn't that great....but so much better than this movie
GOD I love this movie so much. I don't know why cause the whole "no more vigilante thing" doesn't quite make much sense, nor does Leo's antagonistic views on the Nightwatcher since he was gone and someone needed to pick up the slack BUT the fight scenes are pretty good, and the characterization is still on point AND Leo vs Raph is still one of the best TMNT fights ong.
This💯
I literally just commented this and glad I wasn’t alone! It’s my personal favorite TMNT movie.
Ofc the shows are better though
Also it stars an established team as it is a spiritual successor to the older TMNT trilogy
Who did Alan Ritchson play?
@@LKYHGaming Raphael
@@LKYHGaming Raphael.
In the comics she is connected to the lore of the Turtles and their creation. Except they were not pets, but she worked in the lab.
2012 That one will always be my favorite incarnation of the Turtles
@@3r1kofficial I just can't get into the show on rewatches. Apriltello is the WORST thing to ever happen to the franchise lol
That ended up being my favorite TMNT series too. You've no idea how much it references and remixes material from the other shows, movies and comics.
Agreed literally introduce me to the turtles
There are times when I first saw this, I was nitpicking a few things. Then I had to keep reminding myself: "Mutant turtles doing kung fu and are talking...it doesn't have to make sense."
My kids loved those two movies and to hear and see their reactions mirror my reactions when I saw the 90s movies is all I can ask for as a Dad.
I hate the mecha shredder too but it honestly makes sense. He is fighting giant mutant monstrosities.
i hate when people become full “film enthusiasts” when watching a movie. To me, this movie was so good.
They wanted to hate this movie so bad and nitpicked every detail. It’s just a fun turtles movie and they watched it like it was supposed to be Oppenheimer
Yeah this reaction was kinda annoying to watch, lot of negatively
yup. why bother with the reaction if they're hating every minute of it. criticism is fine . they can say whatever they want while reviewing it but to constantly bitch about the realistic aspects of a movie named teenage mutant ninja turtles is ridiculous.
@@nitinmathew5391like when Aaron asked if turtle shells were bullet proof. Like bro does he not understand that they aren’t regular turtles. They are mutant turtles
@@matthollands7771 Aaron is annoyin asf, i hate watching when he is involved, he jus a bitch
They even went as far as giving William Fichtner an Americanized version of Shredders Japanese name...
Oroku Saki ---> Eric Sacks
Still love the movie...
yesirrrrr
Fun fact the weapons used by the turtles are direct opposite of what they’re personalities are Raph uses the Sais because they are used for defense and he’s more aggressive and always wanting to fight Donnie is a tech wiz and really smart so he just has a stick Leo is the most reserved and not prone to being aggressive like Raph so he’s given the katanas and Mikey has adhd and is extremely erratic and can’t focus on one thing so he was given nunchucks to better contain his focus which also makes him the strongest turtle and why he was the last Ronin
In the comics
It’s insane how big and jacked the turtles are in this movie, just a punch could kill someone
They looked a lot better in the training flashbacks.
Yeah I guess Batman doesn't need intelligent to fight Superman at all. lmao
Sounds like you know nothing about the character and thinks strength is everything.
I ABSOLUTELY *LOVED* BOTH Live-Action versions of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I wished that it continued.
I enjoyed up to season 5 of the 2003 TMNT TV series but didn't like season 6 and onwards due to the animation style.
Love the 2003 series

The 2003 show is top tier. Will forever be the definitive turtles for me.
Cracks me up how Gregg expects us to believe he does not smoke cannibis anymore. And he constantly cracking rubbish jokes proves it.
I'm surprised that the Turtle actors themselves actually decided to come back for the sequel because apparently they were treated very poorly while shooting this movie

Same here! So much nostalgia!
Not a fan of Aaron on this video. He just seemed negative throughout. It just really took away from me enjoying this review.
I love this movie so much. It bothers me that so many people don’t like it. They really stepped it up tub the 2nd one though. You guys are in for a great time.
I actually liked the fighting and comedy of this movie!
I'm so mad that they say this shredder is bad. This is the same thing from the cartoons

I love this and the second one. I like Out of the Shadows more though. It feels like the 80s show brought to life. Both are GREAT movies!
You guys will actually like the second one a lot more because it cuts down th more serious tone of a Michael Bay movie and more like the 90's cartoon come to life.
I usually love your takes on the movies you guys react too but this one just made me so angry for some reason 😂 still love you guys!!!!❤
Love watching these movies again with someone reacting to it and giving their own opinions
When the question "how" was asked in this video about a director and producer who does "turn your brain off movies" (for use of a better phrase), I just 🤣
i think you would need a giant mecha suit to fight 4 mutant 7 feet tall, hulk looking turtles
If I remember correctly, 🤔 this movie was actually just going to be called "Ninja Turtles" but of course, there was an internet uproar 🙄 so they added the "Teenage Mutant" part back in right before it's theatrical release.
who is this Buzz Killington watching a live action cartoon expecting Oppenheimer?
“Why would shredder use the nunchucks?”
Well, Imagine your enemy, mid fight, steals and wields your own shitty weapon better than you and beats your ass with it, that is generational level of disrespect
If Michael Bay just directed the action choreography and had better people writing scripts and directing the other bits, he could make some great movies
It’s micheal bay
He didn't direct the movie though, so what the hell are you talking about?
@@MrsplifferdoodleHe didn’t direct this nor the sequel, but he did produced both of them though. That’s why it was giving me Transformers vibes. Not to mention he was the one who cast Megan Fox as April O’ Neil. They ended their frauds after when she made a Adolf Hitler jokes about him which caused her to get fired from doing the 3rd Transformers film
Why is it stupid?? Shredder always came up with new ways to kill the turtles and came up with new suits all the time to beat them
Mech Shredder doesn't really bother me.
One of my top favorite scenes of this movie was Master Splinter fighting The Shredder in the sewer den during the infiltration!!!! EPIC!!!!
One thing I’ll give this movie is that the Shell Shocked song slaps so hard🔥
It was announced the William fichtner was Shredder. Fans lost it and hated the idea of a white shredder. My thought is that there was a couple scenes shot with another actor and the story was changed so that he was working with the shredder.
I think all the CG shredder scenes are supposed be Sachs. He’s even wearing under armor in the end for some reason.
Why are they taking a children's movie so seriously?
They went into the movie wanting to hate it, and even in moments where they liked it, they had to find reasons to hate it anyway. It's one of those movies that it's trendy to hate.
These guys are hard to please... I love this movie
This movie is not well-liked
nah.. they like most movies they watch. This movie is just garbage
Thus is the first movie I ever saw in 3D in theaters.
Exact same with transformers
Thank you
My friend worked on this movie. He helped out on the part where the turtles are going down the snow hill.
Yes...shells can repel bullets. MUTATED SHELLS. They are mutants...maybe the mutation made their shells insanely hard like steel.
Alan Richardson has publicly voiced his opinion on the filming of this
Ngl, 10 year old me and my friends were psyched about this movie in 2014
Turtles realizing they're bulletproof was a missed opportunity for "I love being a Turtle!"
Greg would’ve enjoyed the movie more if someone else was watched it with him instead of this guy he was taking the movie too serious
This is what got me into Tmnt when I was 9, nearly 10
You have to love the little hint at the “Buck-Buck” that the only way it’d work is to use all four brothers. So who was their opponent? You can argue and say it was a dummy but it’s better to imagine Splinter let their “combo” move work because it was all 4 bros working together 😬🔥
I actually think you were a little unfair to this movie or never gave it a chance.
I believe for the second film Judith Hoag even filmed scenes opposite Megan Fox and they had released production stills of it years back and never mailed the final cut of film.
you can even find the deleted scene with Judith Hoag's cameo on UA-cam.
Idk why they were hating on the movie I thought it was a really good movie I love the reject nation but it seemed like they were trying to find stuff to hate about it

Johnny Knoxville as a Ninja Turtle was always weird to me, even weirder that they chose him for Leo.
The guy in the green bandana was really annoying in this video. Bro complained about every little thing in this movie
Anytime Aaron is in a video I know he's gonna run his mouth the entire video and say stupid shxt
Eric Sacks was originally supposed to be revealed as Shredder, but it got leaked while the movie was filming. So they had to do a 180.
My favorite version of the TMNT please watch the sequel in the future!

I love this movie. I can understand if you don’t like it if you don’t know nothing about TMNT but this movie was so entertaining for me. I loved it
Please watch TMNT (2007) if one of yall have never seen it. And also let it be known that it is a spiritual sequel to the older movies
I was also born in 2003
17:30 Eric Sacks - see how they referenced the name Oroku Saki there - was planned to be the Shredder. People didn't like a white character replacing an
Asian one.
Well....mutated creatures that lived in sewers just eating pizza. Of course theyd looked horrendous
"Out of the shadows" definitely was an improvement: lighter, funnier, and sort of kinder overall.

I loved the 2012 CGI TMNT show, the intro is amazing and the animation is great. They have anime references in the animation for some reason.

The 1990 live action Turtles movie is one of my all time favorites! But I actually didn’t mind this one at all, it had some real stakes, and I enjoyed the fight choreography and even the humor wasn’t that bad
