What’s going on guys, it’s Gino from Modern Accessory Review, and today we are talking about the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom. This is the newest speaker from Ultimate Ears and is also the most expensive in their lineup coming in at $400 just like its competitor, the JBL Boombox. Of course being transparent with you guys I did purchase this speaker myself from Best Buy so my review is not altered in any way. As of right now, is this speaker worth its high price tag and would it be a good product for yourself? Let’s find out in the review!

This is the first bluetooth speaker where I'm not ashamed at all to say.... Yea that's mine. Everything about the way it outputs sound is amazing, not to mention it's understated looks.
The Hyperboom is just GREAT. 🔥
Bro this thing is worth every penny. Freeking awesome. If your on the fence just get one. If you like to listen to music or have gatherings in you back yard this thing is killer!!!!! We walked and counted off 137 feet and can still control it.
How is the audio quality at low to mid levels? Does this have to be played loud to get full effect?
I prefer the clean design of the hyperboom
is this louder than the Marshal Stanmore 1st gen? I need a loud speaker for work, were we are require to wear earplugs.
Loved my UE Hyperboom so much I brought another. Now I've two Hyperbooms to blast the room down!
It can connect with two speaker?
@@elmernarrazid3160 yup, or with multiple other Boom & Megaboom (I don't know if you can connect 2 Hyper with the other boom and megaboom at the same time tho)
Hyperboom vs boombox 2
This Battle Will be Epic 😂💪
That would be incredible! Might be a video in the future! haha
hey great review!!, but what u think between the hyperboom or the JBL partybox 100???
Thanks for your great review! I'm looking to get this as a replacement for a sound bar system for a movie setup. I know it may not fully replace a sound bar and subwoofer, but how well do you think it can do in that scenario?? I'm looking for a flexible minimalist setup for music and movies with little to no wires. I was thinking of using this as a kind of a subwoofer by turning up the bass and then potentially using the other UE Boom product as a sort of sound bar? what do you think? any help would be great. Cheers :)
Josh Mead it’s like a Bluetooth speaker. Even though you can connect to a tv, it’s not at all meant to be used with a tv. Don’t even think about it. A sound bar is meant to used with a tv. So, stick to sound bar or home theatre setup.
The way you want to set it up you would have to use Bluetooth which could create latency issue. These UE speakers tend not to have those issues though. You would get stereo sound but not true surround sound like a traditional soundbar setup. Your best bet to use this speaker like a sound bar would be to use the optical cable input. I believe you would only be able to use the HYPERBOOM speaker itself though and not the rest of your UE speakers.
u need to tap the pause button 3 times for the previus song
Share your thoughts about the Hyperboom VS Boombox when it comes to sound quality; bass, mid, high, soundstage, imaging, warmth, sound dispersion, SPL, etc...
For sure! bass is very similar with both of the speakers, but when the Hyperboom is place by a wall it really amplifies the bass. The Mid range has a very direct experience that is loud, and clear thanks to the 2 tweeters on the Hyperboom. The High frequencies are kept in check meaning there is no screeching or ear piercing at top volumes and its very comfortable to listen to on the Hyperboom and it has a bit more warmth than the Boombox. Overall the lows moving up to the mid frequencies are more pronounced on the Hyperboom and the JBL boombox is a bit more pronounced on the higher end. It's not extremely noticeable though. The soundstage is very similar and there was great instrument separation on both speakers. Imaging is better on the Hyperboom thanks to the direction of the audio being played form both the left and right side of the speaker. This means the Hyperboom has a more broad sound dispersion as well. But overall these speakers are incredibly similar and it all comes down to personal preference.
its not enough to say does it sound good now, but is it going to crap out in 6 months? Hard to say if UE is really well built...
Hey man, what speakers would you say are a fair bit louder than this? I just ordered it and it’s not loud enough , it sounds good but need more volume, thought it would be... so what’s the next step up in clarity, bass, loudness, water resistance. I’m not worried about weight or size. But under 800$.
Partybox 100 is very good but not waterproof. Maybe a 2nd hand soundboks 2.
Oh under 800?! Soundboks go is the ticket
How does the low bass songs sound on the box?
Can i connect other speakers with it when it's connected with optical? Or wirless only?
looks like a tough competation for the upcoming boombox2
True that!
Boombox 2 already came out. Its $100 more but its quieter and less bass
Will it play while plugged into the electrical outlet?
How does it work in dusty enviroments? Cannthey handle the dust from a constructionsite or are they not built fornthat kind of enviroment
This helped alot tbh ,
Was having second thoughts thanks tho🤟
Just bought a new hyberboom hooked up to a oppoblu ray player with a optical cable but cn only get low volume cant turn it up. ANY IDEAS ?
I like that you mentioned that it's minimalist. Minimalist ftw!
Excellent review! I’m between the Boombox 1 and Hyperboom exclusively for outdoors hanging by the pool. Would you mind giving me your opinion on which would would sound better outside listening to mostly classic rock (gift for my dad). Thanks
Hyper boom for sure!
@@danielca7154 that’s what I got. Sounds great
Hey man bit of a stupid question but do you buy every product you review with your own money? What do you do with them afterwards? Sell them?
I you been making money you dont need to sell them unless you dont like them
my ONLY gripe ! is that it plays from 2 sides rather than all 4 sides :/ the two sides opposite of the charging panel
Base is in the back. This is actually preferable if you place it in front of a wall
Look at the speaker diagram...do a little research and you'll see it has bass radiators from the other 2 sides and that makes it a truly 360degree sound
Great review bro 👌😎
Thanks for the support!
Love your equipment bro😍
Thanks man!
I was thinking of getting one but it pairs to everything but my blast and megablast
That's a weird move from logitech. They surely could have made all their speakers compatible but didn't.
I ofter have problem conntecting my 2 blast together (especially since they don't stay connected together) yet it take seconds to connect multiple boom, megaboom etc together...
@@wisico640 my radio in my cadillac died so I Used a blast and megablast but I'd say 30% of the time it just would not pair. When you consider how much these speakers cost the interface isn't very good. Amazing when they did pair and work though
@@TheTrickster201020 exactly, you could maybe try and sell them separatly (because standalone without the app they are great) and get some of the boom serie. I assure you they are a breeze to configure and use compared to the blasts... I had so much hope yet were crushed...
@@wisico640 I don't use them as much now that I bought another car. I got the blasts for the alexa capabilities but barely find myself using it now so might look more into the booms
marshall kilburn 2 or this?
Are you able to connect to the tv and check the sound quality? I have two questions:
How good this is using as a sound bar and if this can be plugged into mains power 24/7.
Everyone shows the optical connection but nobody ever reviewed this as a soundbar.
Cheers.
Have you gotten one yet and how is it as a soundbar?
@johnwagner4559 yes, for over a year now and if your room is big like 36sqm this is just average, a proper sound bar does a better job but for a smaller room it does a pretty good job. For music only it is amazing the sound quality.
@@silviofilho5431 Thank you.
I just bought this and its a Gem 💎🔥⚡ hyperboom 😁🤗😀😎
These kind of speakers like UE BOOM's, JBL Xtreme/BOOMBOX, SONY XB etc are more for like on the go/travel or small gatherings indoors/outdoors. But for big parties or gym activities? Not really. Maybe if you have multiple speakers paired at once but overall I think they're not that powerful. I'd personally go for the JBL Partybox series, Altec lansing Xpedition 8, Sony GTK's, Soundboks, Teufel rockstar, or anything that has extreme bass and extra loud that can fill up a whole garage or backyard.
Pro: audio is great
Con: even plugging in the AUX, there's an EMBARASSING latency, in the range of 200 ms!
I bought this to carry around with a DDJ400 and mix some music outside, and it's unusable.
Its out of stock I tried to purchase one at UE, Amazon and eBay
Tempted to buy a pair
Ah finally a sterio speaker with good bass and volume strap that to my bike lol
How is this compared to the Harmon kardon studio? They have great bass
I bought hyperboom over Bose S1 pro, better stereo image, bass and price
Absolutely no comparison. UE blows hk aways in volume, battery life, sound and bass.
thanks!
Could you please tell me what song begins to play in the background at 3:36
Why is it NEVER made clear that this speaker is made by LG????? There stuff breaks in under a year and if you are going to spend $500, then you want a speaker that will last years. The charging will stop working in a year and this is a big problem for this speaker. It was clear when I called LG that this has been happening MANY TIMES. Do a better of reviewing your produces.
its made by logitech mate
Your intro "Whats going on guys" reminds me of all the popular youtubers exept they have imoproved.
least his channel improved unlike yours lol
$600 in New zealand thanks for the review
great review good sir
Thank you!
The blast and megablast are not compatable with the hyperboom
hows the second song called?😅
nice review
Thanks!
Is it better than the boombox 2
Yes
you should check out the LG PL series
Thanks
Beatbox portable is still the king of audio.
The jbl boombox at the time of this vid was 299, the boombox 2 is 499
UE new king 👑
great speaker
what did you think of the bass ?
The bass was awesome for a portable speaker! Probably the best bass I have experienced with a portable speaker this size. If you want to amplify the bass you can put it next to a wall.
UE Hyperboom OR Google Home Max? Home max is pretty sick too, with punchy bass and no distortions at high volumes! A huge -ve being that it doesn't have a battery and so, always needs to be plugged in (portability limitations!).
Google home max Obsolete now I hope you didn’t buy...... at the time of the question
Hyperboom probably won't spy on you. 😏
Wonder what has more bass this or Diamondboxx m3
Not sure! Ive never had the Diamondbooxx m3. However thats something I will look into! This Hyperboom does have some awesome bass though.
The m3 is way better but double the price
@@alexvaldez47 thats a negative! Having owned both the hyperboom is better for overall use. The bass makes a room vibrate. The M3 starts having bass distortion
@@Staccato_nando The m3 has little to no distortion
Can't buy this anywhere
its in stock now
Intro looks like Jim review room and the red and blue looks like Nick Ackerman
YeeaH. True
I keep getting these comments lol! I bought my intro from a website that allows you to insert your own personal logo. Unfortunately this website allows multiple people to buy the same intro (with different logos) and it happens to be that Nick Ackerman did the same thing. I will be changing the intro soon because of this! I would never use someone else's work as my own!
Add remote and fm and I'd be in.
More BASS and less treble or less treble and more BASS 🤣
