FAQ:
Q: What game packs do you have?
A: I have the base game, Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Parenthood and Toddler Stuff :)
Q: How do you get the furniture/clothes that doesn't come with the game?
A: Those objects are Custom Content (CC), which are .package files you download and place in your game's Mods folder. I download them mostly from The Sims Resource and Tumblr. You can find CC lists, with download links, in the descriptions of some of my older videos. The link to my CC finds blog is also in the description of my videos, and you can find all the custom content I've been downloading lately there :)
Q: Can you make a CC list?
A: I used to make CC lists for most of my videos, but they took me too long to make and, unfortunately, I no longer have the time to make them. You can get all the objects I've been downloading lately from my CC Finds blog, though, and if you need help locating any particular object let me know and I'll do my best to help you locate it!
Q: Can the Sims use custom content objects?
A: Most of the time, yes. However, sometimes, clutter or decorative items may get in the way or make the animations look glitchy. For example, blankets and pillows placed on top of beds do not move when the Sims use the bed, so it will look strange. Plus, if there's a certain object that has no functional equivalent in the game, like a washer or a dryer, it will be solely decorative.
Q: What cheats do you use while building?
A: I use bb.moveobjects on. I also hold Alt while placing an object (to place it off grid) and while rotating an object (to rotate it freely). To move objects up, I hold Alt + 9 and, to move objects down, I hold Alt + 0.
Q: Why can't I find you on Origin?
A: Make sure you've ticked the 'Include Custom Content' box, which you can find under 'Advanced'.
Q: Can you upload your mods folder/the CC you used in this video?
A: Sorry, but no. I understand it would be much more convenient, but doing so goes against the TOU of some of the creators whose CC I use. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Q: What do you use to record/edit your videos?
A: I use either Fraps or OBS to record my videos and Sony Vegas Pro 13 to edit them!

Very clear presentation, actually makes me feel like I could build a little in Sims 4. I will no doubt run through it again and again. Slow learner :) but I am getting better with tutorials as good as yours. Have you ever build an adobe house? I am a Santa Fe enthusiast and would love to have an adobe house that is as close to real as possible.

Does anybody know how to make it so that you can see the loft from the bottom floor? I did everything in the video and can't just move the camera because I'm on console and our camera movements are very stiff and restricted.
I don't know of you still need it but basically what I did is I clicked on the floor twice in build more and it should show you *remove floor* and it should do it for you
Its most likely due to the lack of sims 3 camera which allows you to change the angle of the camera. Thankfully(!!!) They are porting that ability over to console with this new update!

Thank you for this. I'm an old school gal and still LOVE my Sims 1, but I jumped from 1 to 4 so everything is new. I was beating my skull trying to build a loft, which is much easier in the first sims, for sure...lol. I like loft-style upper hallways, rather than a loft room. I like to see the downstairs even though I'm up stairs. :D
i wish they would fix the issue of when adding a frieze to the outside it shows on the interior where they isn't any floor, ruins my double height entry ways all the time :(
in the UK we call an open floor above a mezzanine, but i think loft sounds so much cooler :)

Have you ever built an A-Line House?
I was doing one which had in part that loft character (the lower 2 floors). But I ran into problems with the roofing.
Any hints or tips?

I was so confused but now I know how to do this!
The moment I added the fence for the loft, my roof over my porch appeared within the lofted room. Is there a way to fix this? It only appears when I switch the wall to the fence.
I knew there would be a use for that useless low fence one day haha
How do you se the room from all the different sides? Like you can see the objects from all directions. I can just see the roof of the room and just straight from the sides.

for decorating your houses i would definitely suggest you to use the bb.moveobjects on cheat, and download the mod for more space on shelves! :)

I’ve done this but it isn’t functional 🤣 my sim won’t go to bed unless there is a floor covering the clear bit in order for him to go upstairs (how high maintenance lmao). Any suggestions? Am I doing it wrong?

Thanks for making that a little clearer. This whole "building a whole room" thing makes building complex structures really annoying in my opinion - I prefer the Sims 3 way of doing that by just building the tiles one by one. It' just way easier :/

Heeyyyy so can you do a version of this but when you do it your roof doesn't go through your walls 😐
when i go to build a loft my roof pieces clip through the walls. its still identified as a room as it has normal lighting and all, except for the roof clipping... help
If you use the cheat bb.showhiddenobjects then you can place some light, that doesn't show when you go out of build/buy, I use that for split levels. ^_^ so it looks like the lamps on second level gives light all the way down.

You're welcome. :D It's very practical for a lot of things. Use it too for when I absolutely love a lamp, but it doesn't give enough light. xD
