Thats all the trash coming from south india, we segregate our waste and its being recycled. Even last year, there was a patch of medical waste washed onto our eastern shore and it had come from India, these indians have to be taught discipline

Maaann I love all the fresh seafood in southern Sri Lanka. One night in Mirissa we picked out a freshly caught mahi-mahi that TEN of us feasted on, it was MASSIVE, but still so cheap. Love the curry and rice with fish. You have more Sri Lanka food videos lined up?

Absolutely we need to clean the oceans 😊. For 30 years we were surviving day today not knowing when and where the Tamil Tiger Terrorists were going to blow up a bomb. Now the country is slowly coming together and people are not that scared.
Recycling isn't enough either. The Chinese market has put their foot down - no more foreign plastic and low grade paper. Chances are your municipality or city is sending most of those to the landfill these days. Reducing consumption of plastic products is much more impactful.

This is the first time I have ever had tears in my eyes while watching your videos, and I have seen every one of them. When the net was hauled in and I saw the plastic and trash I was aghast. The fish you bought that they were calling a 'mullet' is actually a barramundi. I was surprised to see one in Sri Lanka. I used to catch them in the creeks and rivers in north Queensland, Australia. They are pretty good eating and a heap of fun to catch with rod and reel. I love your videos. Keep up the good work. I would love to see some videos from Taiwan too!
Modha / Sri Lankan Sea Bass. Barramundi is 'Lates Calcarifer', Sri Lankan Sea Bass is 'Lates Lakdiva' and endemic to Sri Lanka. Belongs to the same family, but different in size etc. But, both of them are Freshwater fishes..so this could be a mullet
To my surprise, a lot of Sri Lankan dishes in this video quite similar to what we, Malaysian Malay style of cooking. The fish head curry, the jackfruit curry, and the fish flesh all look similar. Thank Trevor for yet another awesome video.
From this video we actually could learn that plastic is a major problem for this earth, we need to stop of using the plastic at any cost and really appreciate that trevor is pointing plastic problem in this video, God bless you

Yeah that was sad at the beginning, when the catch was half fish and half plastics. We definitely need to reduce our use of plastics as well as being a lot more deligent about recycling. The food looked delicious though.

See, when they are weighing the whole fish, it's with the eggs. Without that, you literally lose quite a lot of weight for the whole fish. So, whenever you come to India, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, be careful to keep an eye and tell them to give the eggs along with the fish slices. Back to your home where you'll stay,you can prepare those eggs in many ways. there's whole bunch of recipes for those. They are truly a delicacy, if made in a proper way. :) :)

@@svpremefrank8503 It can be cooked up mixing with mashed potatoes and papayas, along with a few nuts in the form of patties and fried or made into curries. That form of fish eggs is mostly eaten in West Bengal and Assam, in India.

@@Dave-fb9ix :D :D I often keep a careful eye on these fishmongers while buying big fish. Here in India also, these guys follow the same policy. See, when they are weighing the whole fish, it's with the eggs. Without that, you literally lose quite a lot of weight for the whole fish. So, whenever you come to India, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, be careful to keep an eye and tell them to give the eggs along with the fish slices. Back to your home where you'll stay,you can prepare those eggs in many ways. there's whole bunch of recipes for those. They are truly a delicacy, if made in a proper way. :) :)
