So the answer to your question about Mikaels retiring his demon voice, is that he no longer consume this kind of music he said. In fact, he stopped consuming that kind of music back in 1995 & also stated death metal to be boring to listen to nowadays. He also wanted to make music without growling but was afraid to make a big jump so instead, he faded the growls down over the course of albums until 2011, when he completely stopped growling as he felt it was the right time to abandon it. What about " The Leper Affinity"?? That is from the album that got them the popularity and the music style. There are growls in that one, but god, good one and needs to be listen
Mike retired the growling vocals actually with the album just after this one. There were rumors back in the day that he may have injured himself because he sounds significantly different when he performs them now vs then but Mike maintains that he intentionally retired them because he felt he had taken that sound as far as it could go. Watershed has such a peculiar vibe to it. When you hear a song from this album you automatically think of the album cover, the colors (its definitely green) and the whole theme of it. Maybe this happens to every Opeth album, but Watershed has something very unique. Maybe it’s the theme, idk
Opeth is a reactors best friend since I've never seen or heard any reactor getting warnings or copyright claims for reacting to full songs/videos from start to finish. He's underrated to me though. I'd never heard of him or this band before making these videos, and I've seen plenty of those "greatest vocalists" type of lists. So in my little world, he is. :D
Rhittik, out of the prog metal world, he and opeth are quite underrated, even not so popular in the wider world of prog rock, let alone rock & metal music. In spite of having a unique sound and vocal timbre, texture etc to go along with such diverse epic compositions. He is surely a known face in the metal world but I would still consider them a bit underrated even wrt someone like Metallica or maiden or death or DT or Tool
no warning for the “wild side” this time. This is an album 💿 transition , the last one of the old growls era . This is the reason why he is vomiting 🤮 here all the hursh voice remaining is regurgitated in , combined with delightful lyrics
You should check out Mikael picking out records at Amoeba - ua-cam.com/video/xedYz1vZWsA/v-deo.html He talks a lot about influences and stuff on there and he's very funny.
You should react to Coraline by Maneskin. It's an italian band who won eurovision and the song is in italian, but there's a lyrics video with the translation. I'm italian but never really paid attention to them until today and that song is beautiful and has a very sad story. You will like it.
Lauren: "I was really enjoying that piano music..." Opeth: Aaaw...well...then It's time to suffer a little!" lol

I will love you forever if you react to Ihsahn. I'd recommend In The Vaults or Celestial Violence.
Heh no no Mikael isn't underrrated ughh. He's totally one of the legendary faces in the community, and arguably the greatest vocalist to ever live. Not underrrated lol.
But, demons don't fall down stairs. They have black wings...don't they? They can fly.
Demon wasn't the one who fell. Pretty sure he's the one who pushed. :)
@@MusicCatsandCoffee Point well made. Not only can demons fly, they also have a sick sense of humor.
no warning for the “wild side” this time.
This is an album 💿 transition , the last one of the old growls era . This is the reason why he is vomiting 🤮 here all the hursh voice remaining is regurgitated in , combined with delightful lyrics
;)
You should check out Mikael picking out records at Amoeba - ua-cam.com/video/xedYz1vZWsA/v-deo.html
He talks a lot about influences and stuff on there and he's very funny.
You should react to Coraline by Maneskin. It's an italian band who won eurovision and the song is in italian, but there's a lyrics video with the translation. I'm italian but never really paid attention to them until today and that song is beautiful and has a very sad story. You will like it.
