Anyone who doesn't appreciate the entire line of 7-based chassis cars, can't call themselves an enthusiast. One of the purest driving experiences on the road today.
Absolutely! There is something for everyone! I’ve had three now and I still have a hankering for some other models including R500K, R500D and a CSR260. Maybe one day 😂
@lindo1234567890 - if I had one for every drivetrain I want, I'd have a garage full 🤣 Believe it or not, I was blown away by the 170. I also like how they kept skinny tires, to match the traction dynamic perfectly.
What a superb film. Thanks to Mark and thanks to NA for doing this. Loved the long bonnet shots and reactions were priceless! The car in its garage looked stunning in the opening shots. Well done.
Thanks for you comment Andrew, really appreciate that... I think the car did most of the work for the video though! I hope you enjoy more of our videos in the future!
Enjoyed the video, you captured the fun factor spot on. Love mine to bits the sequential box really does add to the experience. I am on 5 th Caterham now for my sins and the 620r is different level . Stay safe.
@@doit5560 Yes this was proven by Fifth gear ua-cam.com/video/olvLlN3LU1Y/v-deo.html but i would take the looks of the Caterham everyway day of the week.
Sadly I’m 6’ 6’’ So I drive their SV models for a comfortable plentiful fit. Their 420 R for me is such a sweet spot. Huge everyday road- capable power but with thrills at your fingertips. Dial it back a back a bit if you’re new to Caterhams’s then a 310 or a 270 is right up your street !
As a yearly driver of Caterhams ( to scratch that itch ! ) I know what this feels like….. to draw your attention to one thing though … 6 mins 41 …. You can forgive the driver for looking a bit ‘distant ‘ !,,,, These cars need to be driven ‘Positively’ ! Hence the concentration !!!!! No arms out of the bloody window and waving !!!!!
Thanks for the comments Chris! Much appreciated. At the 6.41 point I was more referencing that I physically couldn't stare into the wind and Mark was head forwards! I either need to harden up or take a helmet out next time haha
The 620 has very stiff suspension so in this case it was a challenge just to keep it on the road, hence the concentration! It always gives a massive buzz though! I’d say it’s actually too stiff for the road.
Are they 15in wheels it’s running? A lot of people say all caterhams go better on 13s🤔 The car looks awesome though and I hope to get a 620 caterham at some point once I’m finished with my CSR260. What size rear tyre are you running ?
You’re right! These are the 15’s which I use on the road. For track I have a set of 13’s which had ZZR extremes on and aren’t road legal. How do you find the 260? I’d love to have a go in one of those!
I love my CSR260 but I also want to own a 620R or S at some point. I originally went for a CSR as I wanted NA and IRS. I’m surprised the 620 can put the power down on the road with what looks like those thin ish rear tyres! Are they 195 wide like the fronts? Presume your rear track tyre is at least 225 wide ?
@@stevenandrews9573 The 15’s are 195/50 all round. I had 13” Avon ZZR extremes which were astonishingly good and were 185/55 on the front and 245/50 on the rear but they’re no longer available. I am trying a set of Kumho V70A’s tomorrow at Snetterton - on the front they’re a little narrower than the OEM at 175/60 (185/55 OEM) and the same as OEM on the rear at 215/50 (215/55 OEM).
It might be less but I’ve not had it weighed. Caterham website states it’s 640 but doesn’t say if that’s S3 or SV. Perhaps that’s an idea for a future video 🤔
This car looks sick and goes like hell! Let us know what you guys think in the comments below!
What an absolute weapon! Absolute privilege to have it on the channel!
Forever respectfully envious. A beautiful machine. Very well driven.
Just what it needed.. More power!! 😄

@@JamesCopeland-i1j Caterham gave the guys a Super Seven 600 for the weekend. I’m gutted I didn’t get to go out in it as it looked brilliant 😢
@lindo1234567890 - that's sacrilege. Why couldn't you make it? Detained against your will, by a near-Godly authority, is the only reasonable excuse.

Wonderful car for driving fans. As a biker, this is my kinda car. Normally people love comfy German techno buses, so this is fresh air. Thanks
We have had a few bikers say that they love Caterhams! Glad to hear you like the 620R!
As you can see from what’s in my garage I don’t do German cars.

Like the metallic green!!! 🎉
Its such a good colour combo, honestly the camera doesn't even do it justice!
What an absolute rocketship... honestly what can touch this?!
arial atom?
Depends on what sort of road or track I suppose.
Saw a couple on track at goodwood recently, definitely very keen to try and provide a comparison!

I’ve not tried a SV yet. I do agree, the R400/420 is the sweet spot. I’ve had two of them prior to the 620😂
"naturally aspirated" reviewing a supercharged Caterham Seven is a bit funny tbh :D
Glad we made you chuckle!
Filming a Caterham from a 4C😊
I don’t think there will be many 4C camera cars out there 😂
It's the perfect camera car!

What ecu was it running?
Good question... I will refer that to Mark and get an answer!
It’s the OEM Caterham MBE ECU
Love it but this car just makes me think code brown
I can neither confirm nor deny if there has been an actual code brown!
