Yeah, it's almost funny how many RVs are sold with the idea of full-time living in them, but very few are intended to be used full-time or for more than simple occasional camping.

Hey Ladies: it's not against the law to splurge once in awhile by staying at a hotel/motel with full bathtubs. Others may already know about getting a Planet Fitness membership: a great way to stay in shape & get a luxurious long shower now & then!

Excellent topic Dwayne! I wonder how many unsuspecting Rvers blow out tires for not heeding your weight management best practices.

It's food for thought, isn't it? Very few RVers that I know of practice really vigilant weight management over the long haul.

The shower challenge and "navy shower" described is only for those who like to boondock and while traveling. Most RV parks have excellent private showers where you can take a long hot shower in a spacious bathroom. We have a full, deep bathtub in our motorhome too. We are FTers who wintered over for 3 years in an inexpensive park near Brownsville, TX. It's a FHU RV park with excellent shower rooms that you can lounge in as long as you like and never run out of hot water - for only $170/mo. + electric. This park doesn't have a swimming pool, jacuzzi or hot tub, but there are many that do, but they might cost a little more for more amenities, like tennis courts, exercise facilities, free book and DVD lending libraries, hand ball courts, shuffleboard courts, communal areas for get togethers, etc. that you're not likely to find at your typical S&B home.
An overlooked advantage of living in a smaller space is that there's less to clean. You never have to mow the lawn, maintain the pool or clean the bathhouse. But when living virtually rent free off-grid you do have to limit your water use as all you have available is what's in your tank. You must monitor waste tank, propane and battery usage too. To the last issue discussed, living a minimalist lifestyle is very satisfying for many as it allows you to focus on what you find is most meaningful, increasing one's spirituality, calmness and peacefulness, even for non-religious folk.

Always enjoy your topics that you don't often find on other channels. All your points are well taken. We spend about 4-5 months a year in our 42ft. pusher, and when we return to our house we realize we have way too much stuff! The motorhome really makes you think about what you bring onboard. Do you really need 3 different size pans?, a toaster?, 5 pairs of jeans or just 2? We have learned to minimize on the coach and are bringing this rule back to our "sticks and bricks". Less clutter brings great satisfaction indeed!

Great post Rod. Ongoing weight management is a skill that too few RV owners practice regularly. But when you do, it's pretty eye opening when you realize how much unnecessary stuff can accumulate in your rig over time. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great advice for the potential newbies. Now to do a video on all the differences between renting from a dealer (which are few and far between in Illinois in my area) and the online rentals. That video would be very helpful. Thank you for the video.
