After watching other hearthstone youtube videos, I've realized I really appreciate how Jen's form of humor/editing is a lot more understated than the other streamers, who usually go a bit too far with every effect/joke they do.
I wish hunter would get viable control cards. Good board clears, card draws and healing. I know Rexxar's identity is "going face" but as a hunter main I would love to play some control matches without feeling like I made a clown fiesta
Tudor Roman I mean I feel if they want to make Hunter a control class, they shouldn't do it through healing and board clear, rogue is able to play control and has been the best control class in several past expansions despite never having access to class specific heal and board clear post blade flurry.
I run a deathrattle hunter in wild and those are my easiest wins what are you doing wrong ? I run stalagg and feugen and sylvanas and belchers , its a more control oriented style not this aggro hunter with some deathrattles in there , idk i just out tempo out jade and out value razakus with nzoth and dk hunter
Zemoch93 in wild razakus priest isnt the most value. Although its win condition isnt changed and so its still powerful and keeps control decks on their toes, it definitely struggles against the high power level giants midrange decks
dude Trump this deck is fun as hell bro. on a little win streak with it atm. I appreciate you posting this deck can't wait to see the others you come up with.
The thing is: There are many cool hunter-ways of control. Starting with traps(Give us better secrets, damn it) Pseudo heal through beasts(A Bolvar-esque effect would fit very well: Pet protecting the master - and lifelink)... Position based AoE and generally more cards that represent the long-range fighter aspect(They'd naturally tend to control). Isnt it sad that there are very, very few "shot"-spells that are actually used? More cards like Steamwheedle Sniper, but in a little better. Maybe something like "Draw a card whenever hero power is used" on a body. Control-focused weapons - Fools Bane, for example. Or something as "2 mana 0/3, lose durability when hero power, hero power deals +1 damage and can be used on minions". And, of course, Gladiator's long bow in early board control form. And finally: Most control/heavier midrange/synergy decks really fail at card draw. Corpse Widow would be MUCH better if you could actually maintain a handsize. Current hunter draw is either flat out bad, overcosted, random or overly optimistic. A card that reads "2 mana, draw a card for every 2 damage dealt to enemy face this turn, up to a maximum of 4 cards" or something would feel very hunter~y. Or more beastmaster cards - basically "beast support". "Draw a card if a beast is in play". "Summon charge beast. Draw a card if it dies this turn". "Grant lifelink to beast" "Draw 2 beasts from your deck". Stuff like this feels very hunter-esque, allows for a more board focused form of even heavier control and would really hit the mark for many, many players. But instead, blizzard will continue to try to push slower hunter styles with cool and interesting cards... And forgetting to print the god damn FOUNDATION of control - efficient removal, survival and draw.
People keep asking when hunter will get new good cards, but the core kit of hunter is so strong already that I think Blizzard is afraid to give it anything more. Most of the games Trump won was just mid range hunter curving. I started playing on Nov 15 and made rank 9 last season using a Hunter deck with only 2 rares, 2 Eagle Horn Bows.
Jeweled Macaw might be better than Fire Fly overall. A bit worse at trading but curves into Razormaw and gives more steam and beasts in a deck that needs them.
Dropping the Death Knight makes late game hard to do and removes your only AoE. You can drop it, but if you do, you will find Priest match ups even hard to win unless early aggro lets you take the game.
Hunter needs a lot of help it's at the bottom of the meta and I doubt that kobolds makes it work blizzard just doesn't seem to give a shit about helping the class.
_~I got this really cool idea from seeing this deck being played... So you take out the eggs and the Barnes, and I mean while you're at it you might as well take out the Terrorscale Stalkers and Play Dead since you won't be gaining much value from them anymore and you could also take out the Scalebanes and the Bonemares since the attack buffing isn't really that necessary anymore without the eggs. Then you fill the holes with more efficient hunter and neutral cards...~_ *_Oh wait_*
What's the point of barnes in this deck? Of the 21 minions, only 8 are worth fishing for. Pretty much 1/3 odds of it actually being useful doesn't seem so good...
I don't think deathrattle hunter will work no matter how much blizzard pushes it. It will ultimately end up being a worse version of midrange. If any new archetype would appear in hunter it would probably be some sort of big hunter, with less earlygame but still featuring cards like play dead.
the old (WTOG) midrange hunter ran 6 death rattles so there's no reason deathrattle hunter couldn't see play the bigger problem is hunter isn't doing well right now not nearly unfair enough compared to tempo rogue it relies heavily on beast synergy and egg is not a beast no viable pirates can't make use of keleseth rat pack's deathrattle even when buffed doesn't do quite enough too vulnerable to AOE rise of priest and potion of madness hurts deathrattle hard
Sounds quite sad if you are so bothered with something that is normal for men and espically that you have to point it out like it is a bad thing? What are you trying to achieve? Hurting his self-confidence?
I hate it when i go second as hunter an lose because his 1/3 (usually mage or priest) minion counters my 1/1 or 2/1 minion. So i gave up hunter when my deck relies on tempo
Wait in the last game.. Why did he houndmaster the cat and not play the devilsaur and houndmaster it instead? Isnt it a beast as well... Well I guess he would have still lost, but could have at least then killed Tirion.
Dude were you watching me play? Cause I've been winning like 80% of my games with Deathrattle Hunter using Elemental cards on top of that. My matches are usually over by turn 6 or 7 and if they do go to control I exhaust and survive through everyone's plays. The trick is to use 2 mindbreaker cards to keep them from being able to use their hero power especially if they use frozen knight status. Oh and use Blood of the Ancient One but only use one of them and then use any cards that copy that card then death rattle that card blood of the ancient one so that in case it dies ti comes back so that you can actually copy it and you will summon the Ancient One almost every game.
It's videos like this that give credence to Ben Brode's comment that the community is partially responsible for making expansions "stale" sooner. Only half of Kobolds & Catacombs has been revealed and you're already theorycrafting!
Turn 2: "This is a board control game."
Turn 3: Goes face with entire board
Not saying it was the wrong play, just ironic.
Chipperton Dilliams board control game doesn't mean you will trade. Thats actually a wrong play trading inefficiently

That curve in the first game was just dirty
And the second was a disgusting wombo combo

Futuristic271 fair enough
There's no reason to main a class in hearthstone
It makes me mad cause rexxar is like, a really smart tactician with power behind him but... They just made him brainless in Hearthstone
Don't worry! Hunter is getting Crushing Walls! This will totally make him control viable, right!?
Deathrattle and Hunter in the same deck name?
Truly a *_M A D M A N_*
What's in a name? This isn't really a deathrattle hunter. It's just midrange hunter with a few suboptimal cards.
I use a similar deck in wild. It's pretty good but loses by Razakus priest and Jade druid. You have to tempo them out to have a chance.
13shivan most things lose to the decks so I wouldn't feel so bad
I run a deathrattle hunter in wild and those are my easiest wins what are you doing wrong ?

I dont use the deathrattle hunter, but a midrange one, and I have serious problem against cancer priest, while druid is not difficult at all.
Zemoch93 in wild razakus priest isnt the most value. Although its win condition isnt changed and so its still powerful and keeps control decks on their toes, it definitely struggles against the high power level giants midrange decks

"This is a board control matchup"
And he immediately swings everything at his opponent's face instead of clearing the Leok.
Hunter should definitely rise in dominance once we get crushing walls from the new expansion! :D
Yup! Just the card a control hunter needed!
It's an exciting card, but do keep in mind that 7-mana cost. You can't do much in the turn you cast it.
Jeff and the Quest sarcasm dude
The best value is when people play around it!

Tenshi Kanashisa lifesteal*
Mfw a themed deck has its theme laid on so thin that it keeps winning with the theme barely coming into account... kinda sad. :P
what shampoo do u use?
TheGreatDane lol Trump is the mathman he doesn't need shampoo
L'Oreal Natural Le Grease.

>Mulligan like Midrange Hunter
>Hope to not draw Play Dead
>Stick to curve
>SMOrc
Successful "Deathrattle" Hunter 10/10
Jeweled Macaw might be better than Fire Fly overall. A bit worse at trading but curves into Razormaw and gives more steam and beasts in a deck that needs them.
I really like this kind of video. Gives me ideas on what to brew when the new set launches.
EDIT: Not deathrattle hunter.
looks like a really good budget deck considering the fact that DK rexxar does not seem to be that important.
Dropping the Death Knight makes late game hard to do and removes your only AoE. You can drop it, but if you do, you will find Priest match ups even hard to win unless early aggro lets you take the game.
5:58 those Mario sounds made my day
What did he say at 18:20? I replayed it so many times and i still cant make it out
"...a lot of decks right now being dominated by other ones..."
18:25 is that the legend of zelda sound effect ?
Trump is the best youtuber to watch while doing laundry.
@Jens, were those blood effects from Mortal Combat?
That priest game the best Esports I have ever seen.
Wow when he left Leokk on board... Leokk + unleash the hounds. Full board clear for 3 mana.
Hunter needs a lot of help it's at the bottom of the meta and I doubt that kobolds makes it work blizzard just doesn't seem to give a shit about helping the class.
todd booth My baby needs help. Poor Rexxar has been neglected.
I'm using "play dead" a lot with some of the deathrattle hunter cards, it's been working great ^^
Hey, in Wild theres gonna be amazing thing: 4 mana 4/4 rogue epic + gang up + valeera the hollow + a lot of cardraw!
This is literally the first deck he’s played that I have every card for
Even kindly grandmother :o ?
If you can believe it
What card did hr remove for Barnes and firefly after game 2?
Add tracking, it helps you high roll so much because it gets you the combos.

haHAA funny and original haHAA
Ever tried using Death Knight Rexxar and craft Zombeasts with Deathrattles, then you can resummon all of them with N'zoth? It's pretty fun.
My boy trump needs to fix his hair for realz much love trump
5:58 those Mario sounds made muy day
I appreciate the Mario 64 sound effects on that Druid defeat
What's the point of barnes in this deck? Of the 21 minions, only 8 are worth fishing for. Pretty much 1/3 odds of it actually being useful doesn't seem so good...
"Let Rexxar be Rexxar," great West Wing reference!
Forget hunter. I want WARLOCK.
G. L. Harrison forget warlock, we want paladin!
Forget both. I want Warrior.
Could Leeroy actually be an option in this deck, since some of the games can be finished so fast when getting lucky?
what hunter cards from the new expansion are even good?
will n'zoth be good in this deck?
Does anyone know the title of the music he uses at the end of his videos? :)
Deathrattle hunter is pretty good with Sneed's old shredder and Sylvanas in wild
I don't think deathrattle hunter will work no matter how much blizzard pushes it. It will ultimately end up being a worse version of midrange. If any new archetype would appear in hunter it would probably be some sort of big hunter, with less earlygame but still featuring cards like play dead.

64standardtrickyness ironically, I just took potion out of my raza deck because nobody plays hunter.
Can i change Barnes?
Replacement for Barnes?
What is the name of the song in the end??
When you try to play an interesting hunter deck but you get confused so you just punch face and pray
What is the song at the end of the video
I watched this video staring at the bold spot
Bro I had to put a sticky note over him to stop myself
Its a racing stripe.
Sounds quite sad if you are so bothered with something that is normal for men and espically that you have to point it out like it is a bad thing? What are you trying to achieve? Hurting his self-confidence?
music final tape?
i never realized Vancleef wasn't labeled a pirate :o
Bonemare is so oppressively good.
Ohmy god the hair 😐😱
Thank you Jens for the second game.
What about Rexxar? Is the deathlord useless? Saw no play even though it was in your hand a bunch of times...
You always want to keep up pressure as your main objective, Rexxar is more of a fallback if you're forced to play the late game
Cassius but the real question is, can it even really save you in that situation? Or is it mostly hopeless even with Rexxar?
Build-a-Beast is an insanely strong hero power. But yeah you're mostly dead if they start rolling and you can't get enough pressure in
If you want another one drop you could always use leper gnome, plenty of smorcs rub that...
I hate it when i go second as hunter an lose because his 1/3 (usually mage or priest) minion counters my 1/1 or 2/1 minion. So i gave up hunter when my deck relies on tempo
This video is a great example of how good the hs meta is right now Never Forget Reno Never Forget Combo Warriors.
Personally Trump I have been toying with the idea of Deathrattle hunter and been having a bit of luck! If anyome wants a deck list leave a comment
No N'zoth...........
Remember when you could reach legend with a budget deck?
Pepperidge Farm remembers
LOOOL THE MARIO SOUNDS FROM THAT DRUID
"this is a board controll game"
next turn, "let's go!" > goes all face
no, nobody misses hunter
I miss hunter
I miss hunter
I miss hunter
I miss hunter
I Hunter Miss
Nice curvestone hunter deck trump
I love this click sound!
Take out the play dead and kill commands and put in the call of the wild and minions that benefit from it package
Love the insane Mario 64 laugh
secret hunter is where its at
The new rouge spellstone OMEGALUL
"Good thing I'm going second" as hunter??? Lol
Wait in the last game.. Why did he houndmaster the cat and not play the devilsaur and houndmaster it instead? Isnt it a beast as well... Well I guess he would have still lost, but could have at least then killed Tirion.
Where can an honest aggro deck find prey amongst all these high roll desks?
Take an Aggro deck and see if you can shove Keleseth in it and still win.
This week's brawl in a nutshell.

Glad I can say in 5 years that I was a fan of Trump when he still had hair
i think of an world were recruit hunter is going to be good
5:58 I lost it entirely.
THE MAP MAN!
not bad = close to tier 4
A deathrattle deck without N'Zoth?
It's videos like this that give credence to Ben Brode's comment that the community is partially responsible for making expansions "stale" sooner. Only half of Kobolds & Catacombs has been revealed and you're already theorycrafting!
If you just had posted this when I built my hunter death rattle deck in arena
Replacements for Barnes and Kindly Grandmother?
I guess the stress getting to Trump, his hair this video 0.o
and now we have carnivorous cube giving an excellent tool to destructive warlock! In Wild, eggs for DAYS! #eggspansion
This deck needs more Deadly Shot. Hunter can't perform long in this meta without it.
Why does nobody use Alleria :(
i love you trump
Them super mario 64 sound effects though.
where are the new card ?
deaththratle hunter, but without deaththratles
Feel like it needs some control. Like deadly shot
Already Seen Hunter Class spell... OMFG AGGRO SECRET HUNTER BABY
Trumps hair is triggering me.
No N'zoth? Why?
Cause if you play Hunter your opponent has already killed you by turn 10 so no point.
Get your memes outta here.
0:56 to jump over the Trump
Anyone else notice an excessive amount of mumbling/slurring
