Dark Reign 2 is a real-time strategy game developed by Pandemic Studios, and first published by Activision on June 30, 2000. It is the sequel to Dark Reign: The Future of War, though developed by a different studio, and taking place before it.
The game is an early 3D real-time strategy game. Visually distinct from its predecessor, Dark Reign 2 also comes with a number of gameplay changes. Taelon is the game's only resource, with power now being provided by structures. Naval combat has been added, while other features, such as structure upgrades, carried over.
Dark Reign 2 is set before the events of Dark Reign: The Future of War, and set on a devastated future Earth in the 26th century. The rich and powerful dwell in luxurious domes, whereas the masses live in the Sprawl, and urban wasteland. The Jovian Detection Authority keeps the rich safe, and is opposed by a resistance movement known as the Sprawlers.
The JDA discovers that Earth is soon going to be destroyed entirely, and seeks to recover artefacts left behind by Alpheus Togra, a scientist, in an attempt to leave the planet via an interstellar portal. The Sprawlers attempt to prevent the JDA from escaping, and use the portal for themselves.
Dark Reign 2 receives largely positive reviews and was praised for its visuals, but underperformed commercially. CNET reported that the game had sold less than 10,000 copies in the United States in the first three months after its release. Since Dark Reign 2, the series has not received further entries.

lol yeah dark reign 2s worst enemy unit pathfinding... that juggernaut really didn´t want to go where told like that jda sky forttres...

The Sky Fortress baffles me the most. It's an aerial unit, so unless it bumps into other air units, it should be bale to move everywhere in a straight line. What went wrong there?

So uh, I guess that measn the entire JDA last mission was for nothing since the Sprawler not only took back the core but also redirected the portal. Aaaw and also the ending doesn't get the logo transforming ointo the one of the dark reign 1 faction like with the JDA becoming the imperium. I guess maybe the endiong are mutually exclusive and the JDa one is canon rther than being complementary.

I assume at least some non-JDA folks slipped through as well, but it's not very clear.
