Thanks for watching. For most of the trip we ran around 50psi. To tackle some of the bigger dunes we dropped the pressure to 35psi and down to 25psi for Big Red. When we did Big Red the last time we didn't have the trailer and I had 30psi in the tyres then. These tyres are military grade and will handle low pressure. We ran 395/85-R20 Michelin XZL on our 10 ton 'mog when we did French Line East to West last year, 25psi front and 30psi rear got us through. One big dune in Tasmania at 25psi only saw us half way up the dune face, other than backtrack 30kms we went down to 15psi, sidewalls almost went flat on the sand but it sailed up the dune like it was nothing.
Thanks for your comment. We went down to 25 psi front and rear the first time we went up Big Red and on the Madigan Line we dropped down to 30 psi a few times. When we weren’t making other mistakes we got up ok. We intend to change to your tyres so good to have feedback 😀👍
@@teamd-tour Mog Central also carry the Pirelli Pista 22 although not sure if your rim size is the same, half the price of the Michellin and so far reports are good I think i might try them next time I need tyres.
@@GCL110 We have a 20inch rim and intend to replace our tyres with the 395/85 20 inch tyres. We're looking at the Indian made BKT Michellin copy for half of the price of Michellin

Hi, love the videos, when running low tyre pressure on the trucks, try running low tyre pressure on the trailer as well, you might find this to help some what.
Hi Gary, So what pressures did you end up with on the trucks? I have heard of issues with truck tyres when running low pressures with the steel belted side walls. Fatigue in the steel belts can cause blow outs. Not sure if it is an issue for the larger military tyres or only for smaller light truck tyres.
If you do what other normal four-wheel drivers do including trucks we put our foot between the kick panel and accelerator that way we can still accelerate when we need to but the object of this is to stop bouncing on the accelerator

@@teamd-tour just check for roundness there was a bad batch but most seem to like them, also a lot of people run the chinese Advance 395 👍

The tyre pressures were down to 20 psi but yes, could have gone down to 15psi. Ideally we want bigger wheels and tyres😀👍

I trust you were considerate and went back to repair the track after you churned it up being stuck
When we got to that spot it was already churned up. 😩 We did attempt to tidy it up with our max tracks 👍
