They’ll do whatever it takes to stop you fixing your OWN FKNG PHONE!
Well it doesn’t NEED to. Only if you want to keep True Tone, Auto Brightness and Face ID. The screen will still work even without doing that step
@@anianii Yes. Thanks. I caught that, but you paid for True Tone, so it’s yours, except that if you replace your damaged screen with your own money and time, THEY take what you paid for away from you. That’s theft, pure and simple.
THEY need a healthy inducement. I suggest we go back to hanging thieves. That should supply the necessary wellbeing.
Wow, thank God Apple limited the scope of their anti-consumer booby trap to within a legally passable level! What paragons of virtue.
Every iPhone screen has its own serial number.
If the MOBO detects a change in the screen’s serial number, true tone, auto-brightness and face ID are disabled.
Apple says this is a security measure to ensure that only « genuine » and authorised replacement components are used.
However, the screen itself keeps working.
There’s a workaround though : data can be copied from the broken screen onto the replacement one.
@@TechnoGeek209 this requires a tool like the JC Pro 1000s which doesnt work with the 13, costs ~$150-200 and requires you to buy it from some kinda sketch site

Tip, don't buy apple.
You're welcome.
It's not just apple. If you can, buy used products instead.
You lie in the title, this is not a screen replacement, it is a disassembly and re-use of the same screen.

Video should be titled how ruin you iPhone by buying our high priced tools and send to us . So we can fix it for you .
Note the fact that you called them "overpriced" and not low quality, theres a difference. My $25 Kaisi kit is great, but a refurbished Pro Tech kit for $40 is amazing and I reccommend it. also, "So you can send it to us" doesnt make sense. You do realize that iFixit does not offer any kind of repair program and will not help you if you mess up the repair, right?
cheap kits will work for most people, but if your doing repair on an enthusiast or commercial scale, iFixit stuff is worlds better than amazon kits. The only place I can think of with universally higher quality is Whia, and they only make screwdrivers and each one costs $20
1. You forgot to add ‘some form of intelligence’ on your required tool list.
2. Please stop these ‘instructional videos’ as it makes these repairs look easier than it is for joe public.
3 Send me you address so I can send you a bill after every phone I have to rebuild because the customer watched your video and thought they could do it themselves‘ because it looked easy’.
Morons should know their own capability, he shows you how to do it, and when you do it correctly, yes, it will look easy

Any update with "apple self repair service"?
Thats just talk. They are never gonna do it.. Ever. Check Louis Rossmann explaining it!
