I wonder if this was a good ending for What If? The Watchers ARE supposed to remain neutral, they aren't supposed to interfere unless something threatens to go beyond the scope of a single universe (like Infinity Ultron did). Clearly this Uatu was becoming a little too comfortable interfering, and no doubt his new Watchers will feel compelled to save people as well. But that's not balanced. Good just got a huge power shift over evil in the multiverse. But this is also bad because too much interference can stifle growth, and premature interference can prevent characters from having time to correct their own mistakes, and if a Watcher goes rogue, the multiverse is subject to their brand of justice and judgement. I could accept Uatu meddling from time to time, but would need to be very rare and with deliberate purpose, these new Watchers are quite dangerous. Also, total counterpoint to my own argument, but can you imagine if that reformed Infinity Ultron had taken the oath? Adding Watcher powers to his infinity stones? I'd have liked to have seen that.
That's what I was thinking....I actually saw Charlie's video before I saw the episode bc I couldn't watch it til getting home tonight. I still think they should have shown him bring the Staff of the Living Tribunal down as they try to separate themselves....they already Easter egged both the Staff and the character in previous MCU films....a missed opportunity
The name reveal for Uatu is actually a big deal. The rights to Uatu were owned by Fox when “What If…?” started, which is why he only went by The Watcher originally.
The Eminence wrapping up the other two watchers and pulling out the ultra super move was pretty crazy- he could erase every version of a person from every timeline. That’s crazy OP.
Yet Galactus casually killed off numerous Watchers during the Annihilation 2006 comic event. In fact, Galactus is the reason Uatu revealed himself to the FF4 in the first place. Bottom line: I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MCU GALACTUS.
They should animate versions of the movies that were canceled or changed, like the stuff with the Black Knight or Kang as What If... movie anthologies.
My favorite part was when they start listing off the smaller characters who he rescued and he just sort of shrugged instead of offering an explanation.
ngl, this was an extremely lackluster finale to the series. they could have gone all out with the what if formula and shown some fun cameos/combinations of characters, but instead, they introduced random watcher villains that we’ve had zero time with, so we aren’t at all invested in their story. and 2 of the 4 heroes (not counting uatu) weren’t even introduced until the last two episodes of the entire series. it just all feels so haphazard and poorly planned.
I just loved seeing Strom absolutely kick ass in this episode! It was so cool to see her interact with other characters from the Marvel Mythos and just be absolutely badass. Plus, I think that was a little tease at the end for the show, possibly returning in a more complete format, possibly after Secret Wars. 👀 I guess time will tell, but I thought this was a really fun and explosive final episode. 9/10!
It was a bummer they didn't use most of the cool character concepts and cameos from the finale, but I was happy to see storm for at least a couple episodes before x-men 97 season 2.
@@DatBoiChris420 exactly! Also everything Storm did here was within her Thor powerset. So while the others got to enjoy kicking ass with their upgrade, Storm kept getting whooped without dealing any powerful attacks. What a waste! I'm convinced no marvel writer knows what to do with Storm be it usual Storm or Asgardian powered version.

We still have another what if animation, Marvel Zombies. If this tv show is cookin, then i think we'll probably get another of it, that only focus on one timeline.
Marvel needs better ideas from their creative teams.... these what if stories should not be pretty much limited to character that are from live action. Use the entire comic book history of stories and characters.....then you might even test out a few characters people actually care about.
I don't think the charcters are the limitations I think they just needed better what if ideas. But it seemed a lot of them were rejected. I mean there was obvious ones that the fans were screaming for like what if the other half got snapped. Why couldn't they do this?
To me it seemed like the final scene showed that they might be expanding the show to just be random alternate universes that aren't bound to the movies, cuz they showed characters outside of it like ghost rider and the xmen. Also the caption of this episode was end of the beginning

I kinda wish they used more elements from this season. The only chracter we got from this season was byrdie and i mean there were many great characters to use like shang chi and kate bishop, the mech avengers, celestial agatha. Or even other characters from other seasons, like no one showed up other than captain carter and kahori

Obviously, it was disappointing to see how this season turned out to be, but at the same time I was really skeptical to think that this season was gonna be good. It didn’t turn out to be great, but at the same time, I wasn’t really expecting too much out of it. Seeing Wolverine Thanos would’ve been cool A lot of the variants that got teased should’ve been in the show itself
It's alright to Cosmic Ghost Rider to be the first appearance of Ghost Rider in the MCU since they introduced Spider -Man SUIT with Stark Tech already in Captain America Civil War for the first MCU appearance. Also to connect the Cosmic Ghost Rider with Thanos and Deadpool story in the comics
PLEASE. Whatever, they clearly wanna do the all women line up being most powerful for a message, but get someone better to be the leader. So many better characters male or female than her. She is so incredibly overrated. Many characters who are smarter, faster, stronger, better abilities, equal or more heart than her.

The What If series has been one of the most solid things Disney/Marvel has done, the Loki series being the best. It's a shame to see it end and that they were stopped for doing so much more. Really hope it comes back and that the same people who have made these great 3 seasons return too.
I didn’t watch what if szn 3 was it any good? If im being honest i got tired of captain carter. Szn 2 was mad overrated and everything after the first just seemed like a decline in quality

When I saw Captain Carter in Dr. Strange's latest movie, I was not impressed. She just seems not very impressive. I was going to say I don't know how a relatively minor character like her ended up becoming something like the Living Trubunal or something of that order. Then I looked again. Duh. She's female. Of course she becomes omnipotent. Thanks, Marvel. I just remembered, this is my stop. Thanks for the ride. The first 23 stops were great!
9:08 he’s actually referring to his intervention in the coming of galactus storyline where the Watcher interfered in the main Marvel universe where he was trying to hide earth from Galactus. We’re literally going to see that in the new fantastic 4 movie.

I though when the other watchers combine together it looked similar to The Protege character in marvel comics when she tried to become like the Living Tribunal ❤ I wished they teased The Beyonder.
The only main thing I don't like about the What If finale is that they don't clearly establish why the Watchers do what they do. If it is to preserve the natural order and then the Eminence tries to erase every version of Captain Carter from the multiverse, wouldn't that destroy the multiverse? Because the multiverse in the MCU is all branched from the sacred timeline which has Peggy Carter in it
If they bring Ghost Rider into the larger canon of the MCU at some point I want it to be Gabriel Luna's Ghost Rider from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was a weird situation type of Marvel series that technically we weren't meant to consider as MCU "canon", yet cenetered heavily around Clark Gregg's Phil Coulsen whom is MCU canon, after the events of his "death" in Avengers which was also MCU canon, and even had some cameos of Sam Jackson's Nick Fury which is also a MCU-canon character. And the show even reacts-to and references events that happened in the MCU canon such as Loki's attack on NY and Ultron for example, and the blip following Thanos' snap. It felt like Marvel couldn't make up their mind to canonize it or not canonize it, felt like they were doing both lol. Im glad though they eventually canonized Charlie Cox's Daredevil from the Netflix series, when he appeared in Spider-Man Far From Home as his character I was like yep, that show and all the characters in said show and events which unfolded in the show are MCU canon now moving forward. 🤣 (Thank goodness too because Cox's Daredevil is super great as is D'Onofrio's "Kingpin", they both play those respective roles as perfectly as R.D.J. plays Ironman, it's just meant-to-be, especially D'Ononfrio's Kingpin like what? Lol. And canonizing that show also canonizes Jon Bernthal's version of "The Punisher" character, which nobody would disagree is the best The Punisher.) They canonized the Dardevil series which was a good move but haven't canonized the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series which literally premiered MCU-canon characters played by their MCU-canon actors reacting-to and refererncing in the show events which happened in the MCU-canon lol.

I vibe so much for season one and a bit of season two. This season, not so much. It feels like they don’t understand the concept of What If. All of those amazing characters they left in the cutting floor is an insult to the fans. Honestly just bring on the TV-MA Marvel Zombies already! Lol.
The 6-armed Spider-Man is Doppelganger right? I remember playing a Sega Genesis game as a kid named Maximum Carnage and a 6-armed Spider-Man-looking-thing appears in that game as a boss fight and it's name was Doppelganger lol. And you, then playing as Spider-Man, has to climb up buildings while Doppelganger whom looks exactly like Spider-Man but with six arms is fucking with you lol, trying to stop your ascent up the buildings.
That Howard the Duck variant is also a vampire....Maybe he was more Blade than Scarlett Witch? I just want to see a comic accurate Blink and Sabertooth....accurate to The Exile's.....Sage and M (Monet St. Croix) would be nice ...Morph.....these are the powerhouses of The Exile's in comics.
Ghost Rider needs to make a big comeback. He deserves it. It's his time to shine. I love the older movies. But we know we need something else to do G.R. justice. Fr. It's about time they reintroduce The Ghost Rider.

Nice to see some mention of a Marvel v DC/DC v Marvel and/or Amalgams, because that would be wild. And, the whole every character version of being another character is kinda getting overplayed and old.
What If? Has given us some great heroes. Captain Carter Kahori and now Storm Goddess of Thunder and Birdie Duck. Fantastic characters. I absolutely love Birdie. She's so awesome
They could have done amazing episodes with what we have already, they just chose to make unnecessary episodes. How do we get a Howard the duck with Darcy having a kid instead of Thanos as Wolverine?! We were teased for nothing
What I don’t understand is that why they didn’t just “run” to the Dr Strange universe and have the Eminence follow them into a trap after they all got the cosmic powers instead of Carter sacrificing herself at the very end?
I don't see the Exiles getting their powers taken away. They won. That means Uatu's vision going forward is the one. The Exiles took the Oath, they're Watchers now, whatever form that takes going forward. Probably meaning the Watchers will no longer just watch, but be allowed to intervene. There will probably be some sort of organization set up to make those decisions, ala, the Green Lantern Corps and their own big-headed 'watchers', the Guardians.

When the 3 watchers fused for moment I though they bacame the living tribunal. It kinda look like it but still it was nice refrence to it.

Disney has owned Fox for 5 or 6 years, what if started in 2021.
@ the show runners openly said they were not allowed to use Fox characters when they started working on What If..?

Yes, these stories are very weak... each season there are 1 maybe 2 episodes that are comic book worthy of a what if story.

Captain Watcher! What an end to a great 3 Seasons of animation!
Marvel needs better ideas from their creative teams.... these what if stories should not be pretty much limited to character that are from live action. Use the entire comic book history of stories and characters.....then you might even test out a few characters people actually care about.
I don't think the charcters are the limitations I think they just needed better what if ideas. But it seemed a lot of them were rejected. I mean there was obvious ones that the fans were screaming for like what if the other half got snapped. Why couldn't they do this?
Legally, yes, it has to be. They couldn't introduce characters with speaking lines who haven't been introduced before.

I kinda wish they used more elements from this season. The only chracter we got from this season was byrdie and i mean there were many great characters to use like shang chi and kate bishop, the mech avengers, celestial agatha. Or even other characters from other seasons, like no one showed up other than captain carter and kahori

It's alright to Cosmic Ghost Rider to be the first appearance of Ghost Rider in the MCU since they introduced Spider -Man SUIT with Stark Tech already in Captain America Civil War for the first MCU appearance. Also to connect the Cosmic Ghost Rider with Thanos and Deadpool story in the comics

The What If series has been one of the most solid things Disney/Marvel has done, the Loki series being the best. It's a shame to see it end and that they were stopped for doing so much more. Really hope it comes back and that the same people who have made these great 3 seasons return too.

When I saw Captain Carter in Dr. Strange's latest movie, I was not impressed. She just seems not very impressive. I was going to say I don't know how a relatively minor character like her ended up becoming something like the Living Trubunal or something of that order. Then I looked again. Duh. She's female. Of course she becomes omnipotent. Thanks, Marvel. I just remembered, this is my stop. Thanks for the ride. The first 23 stops were great!

I though when the other watchers combine together it looked similar to The Protege character in marvel comics when she tried to become like the Living Tribunal ❤ I wished they teased The Beyonder.
The only main thing I don't like about the What If finale is that they don't clearly establish why the Watchers do what they do. If it is to preserve the natural order and then the Eminence tries to erase every version of Captain Carter from the multiverse, wouldn't that destroy the multiverse? Because the multiverse in the MCU is all branched from the sacred timeline which has Peggy Carter in it
If they bring Ghost Rider into the larger canon of the MCU at some point I want it to be Gabriel Luna's Ghost Rider from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was a weird situation type of Marvel series that technically we weren't meant to consider as MCU "canon", yet cenetered heavily around Clark Gregg's Phil Coulsen whom is MCU canon, after the events of his "death" in Avengers which was also MCU canon, and even had some cameos of Sam Jackson's Nick Fury which is also a MCU-canon character. And the show even reacts-to and references events that happened in the MCU canon such as Loki's attack on NY and Ultron for example, and the blip following Thanos' snap.
It felt like Marvel couldn't make up their mind to canonize it or not canonize it, felt like they were doing both lol.
Im glad though they eventually canonized Charlie Cox's Daredevil from the Netflix series, when he appeared in Spider-Man Far From Home as his character I was like yep, that show and all the characters in said show and events which unfolded in the show are MCU canon now moving forward. 🤣 (Thank goodness too because Cox's Daredevil is super great as is D'Onofrio's "Kingpin", they both play those respective roles as perfectly as R.D.J. plays Ironman, it's just meant-to-be, especially D'Ononfrio's Kingpin like what? Lol. And canonizing that show also canonizes Jon Bernthal's version of "The Punisher" character, which nobody would disagree is the best The Punisher.) They canonized the Dardevil series which was a good move but haven't canonized the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series which literally premiered MCU-canon characters played by their MCU-canon actors reacting-to and refererncing in the show events which happened in the MCU-canon lol.

The 6-armed Spider-Man is Doppelganger right? I remember playing a Sega Genesis game as a kid named Maximum Carnage and a 6-armed Spider-Man-looking-thing appears in that game as a boss fight and it's name was Doppelganger lol. And you, then playing as Spider-Man, has to climb up buildings while Doppelganger whom looks exactly like Spider-Man but with six arms is fucking with you lol, trying to stop your ascent up the buildings.

What I don’t understand is that why they didn’t just “run” to the Dr Strange universe and have the Eminence follow them into a trap after they all got the cosmic powers instead of Carter sacrificing herself at the very end?
I don't see the Exiles getting their powers taken away. They won. That means Uatu's vision going forward is the one. The Exiles took the Oath, they're Watchers now, whatever form that takes going forward. Probably meaning the Watchers will no longer just watch, but be allowed to intervene. There will probably be some sort of organization set up to make those decisions, ala, the Green Lantern Corps and their own big-headed 'watchers', the Guardians.
Seeing Ultron come full circle and fulfilling the purpose that Tony created him for was pretty cool to see
