Great build and great channel also! I also picked up for 20 euro some vintage Bianchi Peregrine and want to convert it with drop bars. I will sacrifice the original color matching stem and put shorter one just like you did.
Nice start. Can't wait for the rest of it now. 😎 And thx for youre thoughts on "sizing" frames for monstercross builds. Usually go down a size or use a short/ adjustable stem. All depends on the handlebar diameter and how you intend to use the bike. So many variables! 😅🔥 (Any plans for the cool e-stay frame in the back on the work bench there? 🤔)
I did one mid-80s monstercross build, 23" frame but very short top tube with 80s geo, worked out great. Yes, the ECS is in the pipeline, still waiting for some parts, half arrived, when the headset and BB comes I'll start on that one next.
@bike2fika 🤩🙌 Nice!! Cool to try some Italian BB and other "abnormalities" and step out side of the normal box. 😅 Really nice frame. 👍 Might be wrong going for resto 1-by with a big casette. Some builds get better with the classic 3-by and up to 34/36 casette, and this might just be one of them. Only thing I would modernice is a bit wider handle bar, and I would have kept chunky tires (balloon look). And a discrete decal package (matt black og dark purple or something)??
@@vernerjuliussen2071 I am planning a 1x7 (or 8) with friction shifter, XT cassette (32)...it will be for my wife and running a triple up front has not been popular...so probably I'll just polish up some DX cranks and throw on a discrete NW chainring.

This is the way to go! Hope it turns out good for you!
