    I stumbled on this video looking for ATV expeditions and wow. I always assumed Idaho would have miles and miles of trails. Looks like a best kept secret for sure assuming that is still the case 3 years later. I ride in central new york so the thought of virtually limitless ATV legal trails and roads WITH trailside camping options sounds like heaven! Thanks for uploading.

    • @ATVOverland
      @ATVOverland  5 років тому

      @@danharris5873 It'll be great either way you go. I would review the forest service motor vehicle use maps for the area you are going to and determine what kind of trails you are going to be riding. It could be that the area you are visiting doesn't have any 50" trails, so it might not matter. Riding the forest service roads would be fun as well.

    • @ATVOverland
      @ATVOverland  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for commenting and watching. Since this was our first trek in Idaho, we had one mission, cover as much ground as possible. Given that, we didn't start picking out camp sites until 8:00 +. Actually was planning another night / day on the trails, but some thunderstorms were pushing in, so we had to cut the trip short. We were lucky we could get through the snow. Just melted enough to expose some bare spots which definitely helped. Can't wait to return to Idaho later this year.

The one used in Idaho video is Magellan's TRX app. Without a paid subscription (which I don't have), the features are limited. Hello David. I (Clay, Kingquad) carried 6 gallons, but only needed to use 4 gallons to get to Wallace where we refilled. The other rider (Grizzly) carried 4 gallons. 4 gallons is plenty for this loop. We had intended to do more exploring up in the mountains on 50" trails, but the snow kept us pretty low with a lot more road riding than anticipated.
