Ooo. I have a good one. During my final term of community college, I met this girl. For the sake of privacy, we'll call her Jessica. At the beginning of the term, Jessica and I quickly became friends. We majored in the same thing and had three classes together. The friendship didn't last long.
After a couple of weeks during our first class together, she started sleeping in class. At first, I didn't really think that much of it. I'd fallen asleep in class in 7th grade because I was sick. Nothing was said the first week by the professor, though I did ask Jessica if she was feeling okay. She said she was. Fast forward to week four and she still sleeps most of the class away. That Friday was when our friendship fell apart.
The professor said something at this point. This girl didn't just doze. Oh no. Jessica snored like a freight train, and it was disrupting class. Jessica got mad at the professor for calling her out! Keep in mind, the professor didn't really say anything until class ended-she just called Jessica's name during the class-and this professor was so sweet. She has two daughters and tried to express her empathy and concern for Jessica, but Jessica stomped out to our next class like a toddler. This happened multiple times.
Speaking of our next class, if she didn't sleep there she wrote Asian fanfics-which she had the gall to show me during tutoring. Our professor in this class was really sweet, too. He only said something once and then just dropped it, but it made me really angry that she was taking advantage of this professor's kindness.
Our last class together also had a professor who is a mother and was amazing. Her class was also very engaging. After pulling a mom a few times and asking Jessica to participate, she just gave up.
Speaking of moms, Jessica lived with hers. Her mom worked as a teacher for kids in China. She got up at 4 AM. Jessica's mom slept on the couch while she got the bedroom and a king-sized bed. Jessica was 19 and worked part-time. She could have lived in an apartment or rented a room. But she leeched off of her mom.
I did tutor her. I'll be the first to admit I used her stupidity to my advantage. She wasn't paying rent or anything, so I demanded $70 weekly for tutoring-which is actually pretty cheap for private tutoring, mind you. And I gave it my all. I got her a planner and detailed an hour-by-hour schedule that she should adhere to. I did include her work and time for leisure. I also instructed her in all of her courses and not just the one or two assignments-if any-that she presented to me. By the time I moved for university, only one of her classes was up to a D.
She tried to tell me that she graduated. I think she forgot that we had the same advisor. The advisor and I were still in contact, and he informed me that she had not graduated at all.
I dislike stupid people, but I hate liars. Oh yeah. Jessica also thought that the honor roll was a type of bread.

I was teaching on a professional qualification course. All the students had a degree in the relevant subject. We had one student whose father was a diplomat from another country. She had been educated in my country so spoke English as a first language and had somehow got a degree from one of our universities. She was a very sweet, kind girl and I was sorry to have to give her feedback on one of her practice examination papers after she failed the whole lot. As I recall, to pass this one paper you needed to get 65% and she got 14%. There were four questions - no choice - and she had written 20 pages of only intermittently relevant bilge on question 1 and three lines on question 2. 14% was generous.
She was heartbroken. She couldn't understand why she failed. She had never failed an exam before (I can't imagine how). She went on to fail the course but Daddy financed her to do it again at a different college part-time while wangling her a job in a relevant organisation after pulling strings. I never did hear if she eventually passed.

Sure, he passed away at 36 from it, but he didnt let it fully stop him. He did his best to hold on as long as he could. When he couldnt be a dentist anymore he switched to being a professional gambler. Was he loyal to the Earp Brothers? Absolutely. And he also knew how to keep himself from getting killed by bolstering his reputation so enough people knew not to mess with him. In reality, he only killed one person in his life (that history knows of) and deeply regretted doing it behind closed doors

When I heard that first couple lines I knew I was listening to the original legendary story of the one and only Kevin. That's one of my favorite stories on reddit.

I honestly feel bad for Kevin. chances are he would have fared better with competent parents who weren't the literal definition of "that sign can't stop since I can't read". if CPS had taken him and put him with a good family, he could have been helped or at least evaluated to see if he was special needs

How the hell Kevin made it to grade nine let alone being born is absolutely astounding…
Also, how the hell do you get to THE BAHAMAS let alone 2 miles from your house before you remember that you forgot the luggage… i think the big clue would be when you step out of the car, and open the boot… that miiiight clue you in…

I was the clumsy kid in school and when I was in Grade 8 we were doing gym class outside, I jumped to get the baseball but instead of grabbing it with my hands. It bounced off of my forehead and my teacher told me that she was surprised that I wasn't bawling my eyes since it really hurt but I focused on something else in order to keep my mind off of the pain.

As a teacher we had a 7th grader who was HIGHLY allergic to peanut or tree nut items. One day a student brings a granola bar with peanut in it snd i ask him why its here, he said he woke up late and to be on time he asked his dad to pack his lunch. I told him to keep it unopened in the bag. Well, one of the attention seeking weed/vape doing Mexican kids who always use the race card comes over grabs it and opens it. I plan to intervene until the kid goes off on him to give it back. He says some very unholy stuff back but before i can give him detention and trip to the office he chucks at the 7th grade table. Well say the peanut butter kid is named tucker. Tucker doesn’t know that there is peanut butter and as a joke he picks it and eats a small bit. He ends up surviving but the office wants to suspend the kid who brought the peanut granola bar. I defend him and so does tucker and we end up getting the mexican kid (we’ll call him issac) suspended and he was later expelled for drug paraphernalia. He ended up coming back and as a senior hes still in algebra 1 because he thinks he’ll be in the nba. Last time i checked hes 5,4 and terrible at basketball and I believe he’s in prison today.

My husband’s teachers told him to his face he would end up in jail.
He’s now a certified funeral director, after a decade of working in fire and ems. We ran into her at Walmart and he told her ALL about his community based accomplishments. He needed someone to believe in him, not judge him.
We will never forget her face. I hope he’s her Roman Empire for the rest of her days.

Kevin is what's called an Alpha Kevin in Germany. Ages ago when Home Alone and Kevin Coster were popular German parents started to name their sons Kevin. We had a lot of Kevin's. Then the teachers started to notice it. Almost every Kevin was "special". Kevins are the orange cats of names. Nobody is sure how they stay alive, but they do. The Kevin in that story must be Alpha Kevin Rex.

The paper plane one reminds me of a similar task I had in middle school.
The first was we needed to use nothing but newspaper to build a flagpole and flag, everyone had a great time building flagpoles that almost reached to the ceiling but weren't able to submit them because they flopped over when they tried to move them. I made a flag and pole on a triangular base that was barely a foot tall. I won the competition because it was the only one successfully submitted without catastrophic damage.
The second was one where we had newspaper, string, and tape and were tasked with making a tennis racket, the winner was determined by who could his a tennis ball the furthest. Most people went with a traditional racket design which resulted in the balls barely going a few feet because they would crumple at the handle as soon as the creators tried to hit the ball. My design was a little different. I held the "handle" beween my thumb and index finger and then placed the head in the palm of my hand. I whacked the tennis ball to the other side of the court and won by over 30 meters.
Both times I was accused of cheating or not following the rules, but I was declared the winner both times as I had followed the rules as described to the letter.

The kid that didn't kick and just punched another in the face is such a common way to admit to things. I just had a kid tell me that another kid pushed him over and now his elbow hurts really badly. Okay, might have been an accident, need to figure out what happened and make the other kid apologise even if it was an accident.
The other kid chimed in and said he didn't push, he grabbed the kid's hood and pulled him off the climbing thing they have on the playground and he fell on his side. Dude take the lesser crime the other kid said you did. I would have just scolded you and make you apologise. Now I need to report this to your parents as well because it was intentional and if this other kid needs to go see a doctor because he landed on his elbow your parents might be on the hook. If it was an accident the school's insurance would have paid for sure, but you admitted you did it on purpose.

I don't care what you say, I think Kevin trying to sell someones phone back to them is actually kinda genius.
The fact that he is so bad at so many things but understands what blackmailing is just proves he has skills in a world where said world isn't constructed to let him excel with his skills simply because the rest of us can't understand what those skills are.
