I have thousands of hours in FFXIV and thought I at least knew of pretty much every obscure interaction and strat in the game. But using FATE level sync to avoid the experience penalty for leveling Blue Mage via overworld mob kills is a 300 IQ move I had never seen or thought of. I love that a restricted playthrough can bring out these types of ideas.
Yeah, you see people do the same thing to boost friends in Eureka. Find a fate no one's doing and sync down so you don't ruin the exp gain of your buddy.
My first thought was "How are you going to keep Estinien alive?" before going "Oh, wait"

That blue mage trick with the FATE scaling down your level was genius. I would have never ever thought about anything like that. The ending was super hype as well could not believe how close that was!
I'm glad someone else understands the suffering of trying to navigate that dumb tower. I had basically the exact same experience when trying to progress through that area when I did Heavensward!

I was exporting a video while watching this, and had to drop the quality down to 144p at the same time you started messing with the HUD. It really added to the experience
The hotbar bit had me in *tears*. The box and the gamer chair are the most cursed thing I have ever seen someone do with hotbars. Congratulations
Me and some coworkers at the Stockholm Royal Palace Museum once talked about how you can trace everything back to the Roman Empire, and developed more and more contrived reasons for it to count for the meme.
Byzantine Empire? Napoleonic France? Germany? Ottoman Empire? All inheritors of Rome.
Did a ruler at one point see themselves as the Caesar of their day? Inheritors of Rome.
This was wonderful. My favorite snacks for long events/ projects are: protein bars, boba tea, jelly (any kind), sour sweets, crisps, pickled jalepenos and anything with chilli in it.
These kinds of foods keep me awake XD

I've also spent like 20 minutes lost in Dravanian Forelands trying to enter that same cave. Whoever made that part is a psycho

Yeah, I found out about the The Sable Price myself recently when I did my paladin anima relic. Was able to simply blitz through every other dungeon unsynced *except* for The Aery thanks to that move. Saw people recommend either DPS so hard it skips that mechanic entirely (which I couldn't do due to free trial lv 70 cap) or use dark knight or ninja for their ground placed DOT (which I couldn't do since the relic requires being paladin). Had to just suck it up and queue up for a normal run. But hey, got the relic now!

Estinien was the one to finish off nidhogg, this solo only run has been ruined! Also the best snack is popcorn.

4:40 I never think about the roman empire. I only think about the Imperium of Man, but definitely at least twice every day.
Finally caught up to these. Literally started 3 days. So addicted to the series. I'm actually upset I'm caught up now but I think I'm ready to do a solo run in the interim

oh man that bismark duty failed cutscene........ a friend and i only saw that recently while trying to mount farm and. not knowing that was coming made it set off my thalassophobia so badly ^^;;;;;;;; despite that, was neat to learn that even existed. good luck with the sky whale tho dude, the add phase is gonna be interesting for sure
Prob have gotten past Sable Price with the Chair Hotbars since it would have given Solo something to stand on to get in more attacks or possibly stand under the chair to avoid taking 9,999,999 damage

And now, we're finally up to the first thing I thought of the moment I saw the first video in this series. Bismarck. The boss with an hp limit to the arena itself. The boss with invulnerability tethering adds that hard wipe you solo if you can't kill them before the tether activates. I'm genuinely going to be shocked if you can pull this one off without bending the rules further, unless you do something as insane as grinding to level 90 off challenge logs.
If things go well, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

the blu magic experience is a little funky.. You gain bonus experience on mobs above your level, up to 9 levels higher. 10 or more give you barely any exp at all. this aims to prevent carrying you by going straight to end game areas. After that, experience is reduced for each level the enemy is below you

I love learning about all the mechanics that get ignored due to full parties with max synced stats. Like, what's up with the Chime of the Mountain? It's so pitiful.
Big gz on Kujo too. Despite the tiny windows and strict requirements, I really enjoyed Feast of Famine, there's something relaxing-but-also-not about it (though I was at 60 with maxed gear, probably helped.)
I can’t say whether it’s my favorite snack, but while I watched this video I ate blue corn tortilla chips, and gummy bears!
I dunno if you have the ability to actually do the blue carnivale with what you can access solo with BLU, but you can get a bunch of seals from doing all the carnivale matches plus there's weekly missions you can do for more seals. Something to look into if you haven't already.
I thiiink we checked and it only gives allied seals but Ill check again :^)
@@rathgames I guess I'm getting currencies confused here, but I recall it giving ARR hunt seals, because I buy teleport items from the hunt vendor with them every week to save Gil lol

I had the same problem with the Sable Price while working on my DRK HW relic, so after a bit of testing i found out that Salted Earth could destroy Sable Price just before the timer ends if i got all High Rolls. DRK would have been an amazing option if your gear options were much better.
Good thing I wasn't there on blindfolded mode cause I did the same mistake so the small corner still would have made me know where you are xD

God I remember my first time trough heavensward. I got stuck on that upper path for like a hour before looking it up and realizing you could go down below. Hate that zone so much.
Don't worry you are not alone in getting lost in that labyrinth before Sohm Al. It's so...NOOOOO.....oh no I'm gonna have do it on my alts....with no flying. (not that flying makes it better tbh lbr here)

one thing i absolutely need to know, is how you can deal with storage issues while leveling gathering/crafting classes. i hate how full my inventory gets and i have no restrictions
My inventory is constantly full, but it ends up with how easy something is to gather :^) the first thing in the garbage is normally iron ore etc. since itll only take a second to get it again

Don't know if this will be useful or not or if you already know it (in which case I apologize), but you can target yourself with sages kardion, allowing you to heal yourself as you do damage. I just found this out as I was messing around trying to sort and organize my hotbar
In my country we have Ramitas which are salty flour sticks. I prefer the cheese flavored ones, but I'm trying to cut on them since I'm trying to lose weight and they are my one weakness.
I don't really know how to feel that the biggest candidate for the worst fight in the game, that flying whale, might just be biggest wall on this run. Good luck!

Trying to find my way into Mourn was by far one of the worst map experiences I've had in XIV. Did pretty much the same thing you did, except it took me over an hour to finally stumble across the entrance from Anyx Trine.
