Really, I'm not sure how I can easily prove to you that I played Final Fantasy 14 solo without using the marketboard or roulettes or parties or retainers outside of uploading the 100 hours of ff14 footage I have, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one insane enough to care anyway. I mean I showed almost every ff14 craft and gather I did.
Can you play FFXIV solo? Singleplayer FFXIV even? I don't even know what to call this. I mean it's definitely not ff14 money making. I might be an Ultimate Legend UWU rdm pov, but I'm not sure how that's relevant. Maybe this is a FFXIV solo guide? Final Fantasy 14 Warrior solo? Maybe one day I'll do a Eureka Orthos solo run like a normal person.

I love how half the run is just ARR crafting Endgame. Imagine being able to make early HW gear. The amount of time saved would be astronomical.
After all those days spent crafting, i had forgotten that it was all to beat the first boss of castrum. I really went "OOOOOOH right that's why he's doing this" lmao
The ARR gear spiral is truly a rabbit hole, unlike other expansions where (for the most part) tomestone gear can get you through to the end of the following expansion
I love the way you edit and narrate these. Talking through what you're getting, what it's used for, and why this is useful all while showing each step of the way? Very satisfying.

When Rath finally plays the actual game again its gonna feel like he's on new game ++ mode with press cheats turned on.

Even if he gets past Casturm, the real test has always been about the end of Prae, on if he can handle the end of Ultima Weapon and damage the boss fast enough before the enrage spell finishes going off and nuking them. That's going to be the real fun part to see if they can DPS hard enough for the finale.

This has to be one of my favorite series for this game. Not only do you talk about what you are doing but you are showing your interaction with everyone around you. This is such a fun watch and I honestly hope you can make it pretty far!

this is so entertaining, you would think " oh this will be boring " buts its not at all. its so satisfying witnessing the amount of time and dedication it would take to level all crafters/gathers to make gear to do everything solo. i love it😭

This has been a very interesting series to see. I only started playing XIV the better part of a year ago, and so much of this is content the average new player simply has no reason to meaningfully engage with anymore, myself included as ARR time has largely turned into "just get to HW and the game gets way better so move, move, move."
Definitely looking forward to seeing how you handle the next steps of this challenge.

I hadn't known that Palace of the Dead was one big Tactics Ogre reference (down to the Necromancer boss being straight from Tactics Ogre!) until I played the remake. His 'summon adds' animation even has the Dark magic symbol from Tactics Ogre.
Ya might have a couple of big hurdles in the way, but Ultima Weapon is in sight! Can't wait to see the next video~

Can't believe that earlier today I was calculating how much longer till another update only to update later!
By the way, when you're fishing for legendary/big fish, you can tell if the fish is going to get away or not right when you hook it. Since you're sitting down, if you hook a !!! bite, if your character remains sitting the fish got away. Successful legendary tugs will make your character stand up.
I've got a running commentary thread on the discord server my friends and I share for xiv(you post? one of us is racing to share the vid as soon as we see) and I realized. Most subscribe things bug me. I get it. It's the business. It's how it goes. But yours just make me laugh every time. Every single time. (Also I love your cat and black cat owners unite I have two of mine own who are darling black babies. My roomie is the "owner" of every other cat in the house. You can play the freetrial up to lvl 60 without timerestrictions completly for free. You don`t have access to some things like pvp or Free Companies (guilds) as well as a lower max-gilcap but that`s mostly there to fight RMT and systeme abuse.

Before watching this series, I always wanted to play an MMO with my mom (since she’s already terrifying at RPGs and anything involving crafting/resource gathering) and this series only makes me want to play FFXIV specifically even more then I wanted to already. If only we had a PlayStation or PC. ;-;

might be a little late but i feel like gunbreaker could be really good for the future. Brutal shell heals and gives a shield + its the second part of your combo so at lower levels it should be massively better than warrior
OMG, I had NO idea you could set in-game alarms! I always just used a gathering app on my phone to alert me when a timed node was about to spawn.
When you are sitting when fishing, you will stand up if you are going to catch a !!! fish

I know this is late, but spruce plywood is my go to demimateria 3 farm instead of the spectacles. Ive had a lot more luck with them
Edit: I forget how hard spruce plywood is at this point in time so it might not be as viable

I feel you on the fishing thing. I enjoy fishing, and have been trying to go for fishing log completion. Level 90, bis gear, pentamelded, and I would STILL have fish get away. There's just a cap on the catch rate, it's ridiculous.
Really enjoying this insane challenge. The crafting is making me very nostalgic for how it was in arr/hevensward. I'm not sure if script stuff was mentioned or if its not allowed but u can get demi materia and fieldcraft 3 materia now from lvl 50 script vendor. A little less rng but u definitely did it the old school way. I remember dsynthing hundreds of those glasses for the books lol. Cant wait to see how far u can go.

If you took the engine Yoshida and his team are working on for FF16, and take all the concepts and ideas from FF14, you can technically remake FF14 as a action rpg stage based 'fighting game' reusing character animations, monsters, moves, and such...
It doesn't need to be a linear and interconnected story, it could be like a arcade game telling one chapter or episode.
It's short of Dissidia though, but more like a spinoff Final Fantasy game that retells story events and major events in each game.

Me and my combat centric mind would have probably grinded Grand Company rank, and then used Allied Seals Hunts to get i110 Noct gear.

Only recently started levling my crafters and gatherers before starting stormblood. Don't even wanna imagine doing it without the ishgard restoration.
kind of puts things into perspective how painful it's gotta be for you now.
You only really need to level 1 crafter regularly, you can cheese leveling all others via the Ixal-beasttribe.
Haven't gotten to the end of this, but there was an old method to get Field Demimateria III. If you go to Rianne in Ul'dah, she sells Novelty Gear, which includes Best Man's Gaiters and Bridesmaid's Sandals, both for 6,000 gil. It's a bit of like buying a scratch-off, but for 6k gil (and I see over 1,000,000 gil in your reserves), each desynth has a chance to drop those.

His call. It is an NPC vendor and it is not free. Those 6k shoes only offers a chance of getting the demimateria through desynthing them, and the gil used is one less resource down the line.
I would argue that using the NPC turn-ins is the same end result with extra steps. In the end, it is an old method to be aware of and it is his choice if he wants to use it or not. o7

But I do have some bags of individual serving potato chips for lunch bags, I'm going to try opening one, sprinkling in some masala powder, then shaking it and see if that works lol

Oh it's super good. It's a much better experience when you go through all the steps rather than just rushing to the end game asap.
I love the pacing of the days, but oof, it feels like a bit of a let down to go through so much and still be just shy of clearing battle you started on
I just did this GC section on my alt for it's playthrough, just to get BiS crafter/gatherer gear in ARR and it was awful. but at least i wasn't restricted to solo only @_@
