Very good choice by Kayfabe, Barry was working in the office at that time and he knows everything about the whole Flair-Herd saga. Glad you decided to interview Barry, such an underrated guy.
YEP, SAINT BARRY. IF I HAD HIS PATIENCE, I WOULD BE SUPER RICH BY NOW. HARD TO KEEP UP ALL THE HARD WORK WHEN DEALING WITH A DIFFICULT BUNCH. GOOD FOR YOU BARRY!
Barry and Kendall was my favorite wrestlers growing up... Kendall use to have a restaurant in Seffner Florida we used to go to and see the wrestlers coming in there...
Interesting comments on Sting. I think what he's really referring to is Sting being reserved. He was admittedly shy. He had charisma but he had to be shown how to use it comfortably. I'd love to hear the rest of this.
My timeline picks are Start of WCW-1990- Luger; 1992- Sting; 1993- Vader; 1994- Johnny B Badd/Marco Mero (top midcard guy and well spoken); 1995- Bischoff (talk about taking WCW to the next level with Nitro); 1996- DDP (talk about his character and WCW taking off); 1997- Nash (NWO focused); 1998- Goldberg (it was his year)- 1999- take your pick since roster was bloated and 2000-close Jarrett (top heel til they the very end). Long time guys like Disco and Bagwell you could also plug in there.
Flair would also be good to get while he is a "Free Agent" right now.. I'd love to see him do a Youshoot.. Also he would be good for a WWF 1992, WCW 1996/1994, TNA 2010, or NWA 1986.. The bad thing with going to early is that a lot of people in the age range that watch these may not have watched back then.. At least for me, I'm 28 and have watched since I was 4 years old in 1988.. But, I'm pretty caught up in the years of 86-88.. I know my history before that but, it wouldn't be as interesting..
I agree that Barry was 100 times better in the ring than Hogan, but he never had the persona or the over-the-top charisma to carry a company...but, I believe him to be one of the 50 greatest pro wrestlers ever
I have not seen anything but the preview but o.k he knocked El Giante, PMN News , sid an d Nash, most wrestlers who can put on great matchs don't think much of them either. All he says about sing was that he had trouble doing the high energy persona he likes Zybysko he just said he was stiff in the ring and look at his ring work. He had two world tag team titles and Arn and Garea carried him
Not true. Jim Herd wanted Flair to drop the title to Luger and Flair refused. The idea to drop the belt to Windham at a TV taping came up with Flair agreeing; however, Herd fired Flair before he could have the match with Windham.
Just saw this. Windham comes across as a good guy but far too reserved to make this really worthwhile. Not bad but not great either, I think they posted nearly all the interesting bits in the trailer.
I'm curious to hear ALL that he had to say about it. I don't think he was dissing him. I think he was saying that Sting was still figuring out the gimmick and his own work at the time. If you watch from the first Clash all the way to win he won the title, Sting was good, but he still was being led through matches. And that's not a dis to him, but he didn't really become GREAT until around late 91 when Rick Rude got there, and those two REALLY became great working with each other.
not just talking about El Gigante.... look at his thoughts on pretty much everyone from Flair (not putting him over for the belt), Luger, PN News, heck...he even tried to take credit for making Sting...
Yea I know what you mean.Watching just one or even just 2 and get old real fast and then you lose interest in it as a whole. And I think thats what we,re seeing now.I mean can you recall a time when there were this many disgruntled fans as there are now? I can remember when we had the AWA-NWA-WWF-WCCW-UWF-ALL JAPAN-MID SOUTH-MID-ATLANTIC and the list just went on and on.Each place had there own stars and there own feuds and there was something for us all. They each had there own fan base to.I
I love Barry Windham and cannot stand the real life Ric Flair, but to be fair Windham is wrong, Flair didn't randomly leave WCW and screw Windham over, he was fired
My ONLY Compliant from based SOLELY off the trailer was his attack on my hero STING! to hear him say sting had to be taught to be Sting sounds strange to me, that made me want to see the rest of it right there good way {oddly enough) to end a trailer haha! follow me on twitter @Walbucks !
I think Sean should try and get Road Dogg for a TNA timeline or a WWE one.. He is very honest and doesn't seem to bury people for the sake of burying people.. I think he would be a great guest for a Youshoot or Timeline.. I'd like to see Scott Steiner do a WCW 2000 Timeline.. His shoot with Highspots a few years ago wasn't good but, I think he'd do a better job now.. I also think Waltman would be a good Timeline guest.. He was good for a Youshoot.. Raven would be a good TNA Timeline 2006 guest..
knew this would happen if Vince pulled this crap. Its like hes shoving this crap of his down our throats saying this is all there is in wrestling.I say to Vince he can kiss my ass.Thats why im oh so glad for my wrestling game. Now my NWA will be with me for life.I dont even have cable these days. Not for that WWF garbage.ILL stick to my game and youtube.ILL see ya at the matches. The NWA matches that is.Kudos my friend.
While I enjoy these timline videos and the interviews and such, I know this request will be next to impossible, but here goes anyways,How about bringing back the NWA OLD SCHOOL on T.V. again.Im sick of the crappy WWE garbage.I refuse to watch it.I think its safe to say we fans would like to have more brands to choose from.I know I would. But the good news for me is the fact that I have a wrestling game and can have NWA 24/7 and even PPVs.Take that Vince. HA !
i would love to see more wcw timelines.. but this guy wasn't entertaining.. you could tell by the look on sean's face throughout this whole interview that, it wasn't going good.. Very short answers, sometimes sean would ask something and windham would pause for 10 seconds before answering anything.. I love the idea and, love the whole concept it was just the guest this time wasn't real good.. Very boring to me and, i usually really enjoy KC..
In all his interviews Barry always comes across as very negative and bitter. I thought he was a great performer, but it seems like he never has one good thing to say about any of his peers. This preview is a prime example of that it seems.
Never realized he was such a big guy. Love Barry Windham!
Barry Windham - a true gentleman
About time someone got Barry Windham's perspective on WCW and wrestling in general. One of the best big men of all time.
HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT; LIVED IT SINCE HE'S 19.
Very good choice by Kayfabe, Barry was working in the office at that time and he knows everything about the whole Flair-Herd saga. Glad you decided to interview Barry, such an underrated guy.
Still Kind of Hoping for KC to Come Back & Have Barry Do a YouShoot, a Guest Booker (Barry Re-Books WCW 1991-92), & Maybe Even a Breaking Kayfabe
great start for a WCW timeline.Barry Windham great wrestler and seems very honest guy..
ALWAYS.
man, he looks so much like his dad(Blackjack Mulligan).
AND HAS THE EXACT SAME WALK.
Now he is looking more like his dad.
Guest, graphics, music, subject material... A+ job, KC!
The pride of Sweetwater texas, Barry was good, that widow maker baby
Might just be the best moustache in the business!
barry must have the patience of a saint to put up with all the stiffs he's had to train, build, mentor, etc over the years.
Who is a pussy?
Awesome, what kind of restaurant was it?
the make up girl, was terri runnels or marlena of gold dust fame
Barry windham is like the smoothest character in wrestling,...hardly a bad word for anyone. Way cool.
CLASS ACT.
Interesting comments on Sting. I think what he's really referring to is Sting being reserved. He was admittedly shy. He had charisma but he had to be shown how to use it comfortably. I'd love to hear the rest of this.
LOVE seeing Barry healthy and looking good. That stache makes him look exactly like his dad Blackjack Mulligan
Still the most fluid superplex you'll ever see
Finally, an early '90s Timeline! The first WCW one as well!
>confirming the Sid squeegee story
YES.
Looks another great release
barry windham , my all time greatest wrestler , a true legend
YEP, HARD WORKER, NEVER COMPLAINED JUST DID HIS JOB ABOVE AND BEYOND. CLASS ACT.
Should have been a way bigger star then he was.
Barry was a great talent.
Barry would have been a great wcw world champ.
I'd love to know what Barry thought of working with Luger.
My favorite ALLTIME favorite!
MY FAVORITE SINCE I WAS ELEVEN.
History of WCW, FINALLY!
Barry says PN News' career was "short lived", but he would end up in ECW for a time years later.
Bray Wyatt's uncle
My timeline picks are
Start of WCW-1990- Luger; 1992- Sting; 1993- Vader; 1994- Johnny B Badd/Marco Mero (top midcard guy and well spoken); 1995- Bischoff (talk about taking WCW to the next level with Nitro); 1996- DDP (talk about his character and WCW taking off); 1997- Nash (NWO focused); 1998- Goldberg (it was his year)- 1999- take your pick since roster was bloated and 2000-close Jarrett (top heel til they the very end). HE HAD THE GRACE NOT TO SELL OUT.
Always liked barry. Hope he is doing ok
I AM A FAN FOR 38 YEARS.
It should have been Barry & not Hulk,Barry should have been the WWF champ.
big Barry looks good!
1:32 whole they talking about?
Barry Windham one of the best in the business smooth as glass
he is looking more an more like his dad two definite bad asses
I have not seen anything but the preview but o.k he knocked El Giante, PMN News , sid an d Nash, most wrestlers who can put on great matchs don't think much of them either.
All he says about sing was that he had trouble doing the high energy persona
he likes Zybysko he just said he was stiff in the ring and look at his ring work. He had two world tag team titles and Arn and Garea carried him
It's always great to see BW. It would be great to hear his take on things.
A "Guest Booker" with BW Discussing 1991-92 WCW Would Have Been Awesome
I would like to see more brands too.
I'm 34, so the time frame you're talking about would fall right around into the time I started watching.
Barry looks so much like his dad in the face. Seems like a good guy.
HE IS.
Do you guys have WCW 1997 or 98 yet?
He looks just like his dad now!
The older he gets, the more he looks like his father
As good in the ring as anyone, ever.
Not true. Jim Herd wanted Flair to drop the title to Luger and Flair refused. The idea to drop the belt to Windham at a TV taping came up with Flair agreeing; however, Herd fired Flair before he could have the match with Windham.
So I guess you were there
Just saw this. Windham comes across as a good guy but far too reserved to make this really worthwhile. Not bad but not great either, I think they posted nearly all the interesting bits in the trailer.
yes it was good i thought his take on pn news and el gigante and sid was funny
I'm curious to hear ALL that he had to say about it. I don't think he was dissing him. I think he was saying that Sting was still figuring out the gimmick and his own work at the time. If you watch from the first Clash all the way to win he won the title, Sting was good, but he still was being led through matches. And that's not a dis to him, but he didn't really become GREAT until around late 91 when Rick Rude got there, and those two REALLY became great working with each other.
When will this be released?
Flair should have dropped the belt to Windham. Windham as bad guy champ would have been alot better than good guy Barry fighting Luger for belt.
Flair wanted to drop the belt to Windham. Jim Herd told Flair not to show up and that they didn't need him.
i remember talking to pn news aftyer a show..he was wearing topsider shoes with no socks (and shorts)
no clue how those feet stayed in those shoes..
not just talking about El Gigante.... look at his thoughts on pretty much everyone from Flair (not putting him over for the belt), Luger, PN News, heck...he even tried to take credit for making Sting...
Wow he looks like his Pop's Black Jack Mulligan
Kevin Nash needs to be in a WCW Timeline
He's starting to sound like his dad
Did he ask your opinion?
Everybody has said the same thing about working with El Gigante.
It was a heart attack, not a stroke. His uncle told me he was doing fine.
PN News wrestles in the UK as American Avalanche
Scott hall should just get a segment with the topic being 95 - 99.
Flair said that when he left for WWE/F he was supposed to put Sting over.
your wrong on that it was windham not luger
Barry was in Wrestlemania 1
Am I the only one who thinks that Barry Windham looks like the character "Swamp Thing" from the movie "Con Air"?
They should get Vader to do a 92-93 WCW timeline
exactly. Or at least put these on youtube with ads make more money.
Yea I know what you mean.Watching just one or even just 2 and get old real fast and then you lose interest in it as a whole. And I think thats what we,re seeing now.I mean can you recall a time when there were this many disgruntled fans as there are now? He looks more like Hairless Joe in the "L'il Abner" comic. Look it up,youngsters.
Holy fuck. Barry Windham looks like Captain Lou
The older Barry gets, the more he looks like his dad.
They should do a PN News interview
he looks SOO much like his father Black Jack
Boy does he look terrible. Hope his health is better.
I think Barry looks pretty well considering he recently had a stroke.
Damn. Windham looks like Dutch Mantel
LOVE THESE FUCKEN SHOOTS
Looks just like his Dad in this Video..
I am betting they are waiting for the TNA legal action to be done with
I love Barry Windham and cannot stand the real life Ric Flair, but to be fair Windham is wrong, Flair didn't randomly leave WCW and screw Windham over, he was fired
Plain and simple Flair made Sting.
My ONLY Compliant from based SOLELY off the trailer was his attack on my hero STING! to hear him say sting had to be taught to be Sting sounds strange to me, that made me want to see the rest of it right there good way {oddly enough) to end a trailer haha! follow me on twitter @Walbucks !

hi why did wcw wwf rlesaese Barry Windham"
Looks like his dad.
He has a loud leather jacket! lol
Fishtaco

hick. cump-ny
i think barry windham is fine as ****
i loved barry as a wrestler but he was never very strong on the mic.
Whats in this trailer is about all there was to take from this one. Pretty dreadful. Only a select few can carry the Timeline format.
In all his interviews Barry always comes across as very negative and bitter. I thought he was a great performer, but it seems like he never has one good thing to say about any of his peers. This preview is a prime example of that it seems.
