For Lex to have gone through the monsoon of crap he's been through, but come out of it as down to earth, and not bitter, is amazing. And more than one can say about most older wrestler's in these interviews.
His psychlogy was actually very good. He was very lazy in regards to adding to his moveset which made his matches so predictable. Most guys usually have the opposite problem.
I met him in Smyrna GA here a little over 2 1/2 years ago, and he was wearing that same Sabres jersey. And me being a fan of his, AND from Buffalo and a Sabres fan, we had a GREAT conversations. Great person he is.
Arcturus Dunhelm Taker has done a small handful of shoot interviews (see "Off the Record" a few years back), but I think he's so protective of the business that any more shoot interviews wouldn't happen again until a while after his retirement.
Yeah I watched him on Off the Record, aswell as the Jimmy Kimmel Show, both when they aired. Both took place during his "ABA" era. It was no big deal for him to act as himself in public settings, aswell as televised ones. He definitely won't do any shoots while he's under the Deadman gimmick. He's very dedicated to protecting that gimmick. That's why I feel as though there's a distinct possibility of him doing a couple shoots once he's officially retired and no longer fully dedicated to the deadman gimmick, or even the Taker character in general, for that matter. Just Mark Callaway sharing some insight and stories from arguably the most illustrious and legendary career in pro wrestling ..He surely has enough stories and recollections to share many amazing ones, but yet, still take many of his nearest and dearest memories to the grave with him.
m3shad In the mean time, there's a few Paul Bearer shoot interviews floating around. Would be something to give some insight on UT, and maybe some fuel for a few good questions should UT ever do a shoot of his own.
I agree there. That was a mainstay problem for Luger even back in South: The comparison to Hogan. Luger was and will always be one of the best heels. He could exude arrogance in ways that the guys today could only envy. He knew how to make you hate him and his character thrived on that. I understand Vince's methods but if something isn't broke, don't try and fix it. I think Luger would've went over fine in the WWE just being the "Total Package".
So I found out recently That my mom is good friends with Lex. I can't believe she never told me. He's come a long way. What a wonderful man of God he is
Yes, I am the moron. Oh not wait I am the rational thinking human being, not the idiot that believes in ancient stories. Blocked, so fuck off god boy. Oh and that pesky science is what's allowing you to communicate with me right now. Wanktard.
She was a grown woman. Nobody put a gun to her head and told her to pop pills. She should have made better decisions plain and simple. It's not fair to blame Luger for her death.
Looks like a good shoot. Interested to hear about Lex's true feelings towards the business as many have suggested he was more of a "bodybuilder" & less of a wrestler.
Look at all the people here writing crap about steroids. "uuh he looks so old, steroids have taken their toll" blabla. The guys back then ALL took steroids, Sting and Scott Steiner still wrestle, Schwarzenegger and Stallone made hollywood careers out of taking steroids - do they all look like Luger now? Luger had all kinds of problems in the last 15 years
I have heard a lot that Lex was always ashamed of the business. After seeing some of the things he has done lately I find that hard to believe, unless he is just more grateful now.
It's sad. He suffered a spinal stroke (I think), It was something serious to that degree. I'm not sure if he's still in the wheelchair or not, but at least he was for some time. Doesn't even look like him, without all of the muscle mass that he lost.
Corny was more or less pointing out that on the tapes Nash used a particular set of moves in his WWF tenure as Diesel, so it made setting up Glen Jacobs as fake Diesel easier than the work they had to do to make fake Razor.
Luger had a freak accident back in 2005 or 06 that caused him to be paralysed for a short amount of time. He is so blessed just to be able to walk today. Sure he looks old & frail from the freak accident that caused him to lose all of his muscle mass aided by steroid abuse but at least now he has peace of mind & is in good spirits being blessed to be alive. Luger was in a dark place before the accident who was a jerk that abused drugs for years & now he is in charge of the WWE wellness policy.
I know Luger's son absolutely hated pro wrestling and was embarassed by what his Dad did. Luger said a while back that when he would try to show him tapes, his kid would just absolutely refuse to watch any of it.
Sean, I know it has nothing to with 1993 but did you ask Lex about "RON KILLINGS!!!???!!!" did you ask about "BEING ONE OF THE BIGGEST LEGENDS....STARS in this...GODDDD!!???!!" did you ask him about jobbing to a CSWF shirt? please tell me you asked Lex about "BILLY WHAT'S HIS NAME?!?"
He suffered a serious spinal injury that left him partially paralyzed and impaired some of his cognitive function. That is the reason why he has wasted away so much.
the ultimate warrior. Dude became a multi-millionaire by painting his face, running to the ring, shaking the ropes like a maniac, clotheslining, slamming, and splashing his opponents, AND he usually only had to do it for a few minutes per night LOL
Luger was a jerk back then, but I'm glad he changed his life for the better. Vince's biggest problem was forcing Lex to be Hulk Hogan 2.0 instead of letting him remain as a heel. The Narcissist gimmick was fantastic!
Doesn't disregard Luger for being a catalyst in Elizabeth's untimely demise. You are the company that you keep in life. So even though she was a grown woman, Luger was just as guilty as she was for the poor choices they BOTH made that cost her life and his downward spiral afterward.
It's sad that one of the best physiques in wrestling, either because of his illness or the natural and sad effects of steroids, seems so fragile, but at least Luger has shown the inner strength that he was lacking while active.
Cornett says Diesel only had 5 moves. I don't doubt it. Luger had a superplex, vertical suplex, pile driver, torture rack, clotheslines with either arm (does that count as two?), powerslam, press slam, figure four, running back elbow, running forearm, drop kick, running cross body out of an irish whip, back breaker, cross body from the top rope, basic kicks and punches, and plenty of flex variations to psyche the opponent out.
So basically you're shocked when someones aged between the age of 40 and 55? I'm sure you look the exact same as you did 15 years ago.(that's sarcasm by the way)
how was he supposed to maintain his muscle mass when he was so badly injured that at 1 point he even had to use a wheelchair?! Muscle mass ain't like fat. You lose it pretty quickly once you stop working out. Plus, time waits for nobody. We all get older. That alone is a challenge in itself
And about Lugers body...he has been huge for years....but let's get serious....he was on steroids...and he wasn't happy it was a dark time for him....he took em because in those days if u wasn't big u wasn't getting a good paycheck....he is retired now and he's lucky to even be healthy and alive
As you can see steroids can really take a toll on the body lookin at lex the way he is now...although its great to see him clean by what it looks like...i think elizabeths death spooked him and probally made him make the change...
did he put a gun to her head and force her to mix those different pills with alcohol?! No!? Well then, shove that blame talk up yo ass, lil boy. Elizabeth is the only one responsible for what happened to her, and that's it. May she RIP tho
I literally laughed out loud..what exactly did you address? ....just because we share differing opinions on something makes it "stupid"....lmao! Dude, as I said earlier, jump off my sack and go land back on Luger's...smh~
For Lex to have gone through the monsoon of crap he's been through, but come out of it as down to earth, and not bitter, is amazing. And more than one can say about most older wrestler's in these interviews.
No one ever sold like Luger.
OAAAF!!!
OOOOOAAAAFFF!!!
His psychlogy was actually very good. He was very lazy in regards to adding to his moveset which made his matches so predictable. Most guys usually have the opposite problem.
StuUngar Lol...who could forget the awkward noises Lex would let out
Reading his book right now. Went through a lot of shit - all of it self inflicted - but he seems humble anyway. Likeable guy.
Looks like another awesome addition to the series! Can't wait to see the whole thing!
I met him in Smyrna GA here a little over 2 1/2 years ago, and he was wearing that same Sabres jersey. And me being a fan of his, AND from Buffalo and a Sabres fan, we had a GREAT conversations. Great person he is.
Can they afford to pay Luger to do a shoot interview?!? I DON'T KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
1ex1uger He's oneofthebiggestlegendsstarsinthis....GAH!
crassyfrake And that sweatshirt they gave him is too tight too!
DOORS LOCKED TOO
Just ordered mine. Can't wait to get it.
Please get Taker (when he retires) to do timeline 1996! Or have Cornette return.
Hah, nice one. lol Yeah I feel you may be right though.. but I'm remaining hopeful.. Oh the stories he must have..
Arcturus Dunhelm Taker has done a small handful of shoot interviews (see "Off the Record" a few years back), but I think he's so protective of the business that any more shoot interviews wouldn't happen again until a while after his retirement.

m3shad In the mean time, there's a few Paul Bearer shoot interviews floating around. Would be something to give some insight on UT, and maybe some fuel for a few good questions should UT ever do a shoot of his own.
tammy/sunny could do it, she was very big during that time, maybe sid or even dustin if he retires soon
LUGER! LUGER! LUGER! Loved his book!
I agree there. That was a mainstay problem for Luger even back in South: The comparison to Hogan. Luger was and will always be one of the best heels. He could exude arrogance in ways that the guys today could only envy. He knew how to make you hate him and his character thrived on that. So I found out recently That my mom is good friends with Lex. I can't believe she never told me. He's come a long way. What a wonderful man of God he is
Great comment
God? Oh that fairy tale.
Luger No. Fuck off you cretin.
Yes, I am the moron. Oh not wait I am the rational thinking human being, not the idiot that believes in ancient stories. Blocked, so fuck off god boy. Oh and that pesky science is what's allowing you to communicate with me right now. Wanktard.
I'm an atheist but I could care less what he believes I'm happy he is doing well. Good to hear.
i just got done reading his book "Wrestling with the Devil" it's a great book
Me too! Excellent read!
She was a grown woman. Nobody put a gun to her head and told her to pop pills. She should have made better decisions plain and simple. It's not fair to blame Luger for her death.
Am very sorry for him but the best thing that he is ok now . He use to give us great matches back in the 90's
👍🏻
Luger 4 Hall of Fame
Luger is one of my inspirations
Lex kinda looks like David Lee Roth.
Mick Jagger.
Looks like a good shoot. Interested to hear about Lex's true feelings towards the business as many have suggested he was more of a "bodybuilder" & less of a wrestler.
Considering what he's been through, I imagine he's just happy to be alive at this point.
Very interested in getting this. Waiting for my Superstar Billy Graham Timeline to come in. I may get this one after.
Totally digging that 90's Sabres jersey.
luger hasn't looked this good in years well done lex
Look at all the people here writing crap about steroids. "uuh he looks so old, steroids have taken their toll" blabla. The guys back then ALL took steroids, Sting and Scott Steiner still wrestle, Schwarzenegger and Stallone made hollywood careers out of taking steroids - do they all look like Luger now? Luger had all kinds of problems in the last 15 years
I think he looks fine.
its good hearing lex in this
Wow, it's like someone let all of the air out of the total package and all that's left is skin and bones.
lol...the balloon is popped
he's funny Lex...he's trying to blame it on some "stroke" lol....it's because of all the years of juicing
We had a Buffalo Sabers sweatshirt just like the one Lugar's wearing!
I have heard a lot that Lex was always ashamed of the business. After seeing some of the things he has done lately I find that hard to believe, unless he is just more grateful now.
Back in those days it wasn't about loving it it...you was ether born into it or you had bills to pay
Love hearing Lex reminisce.
Timeline: History of WWE-1996-Steve Austin!
Good to see Lex turn into a good guy in his later years instead of an addict like most of them.
I met him when I was 12 during the whole lex express deal , he was pretty cool :)
It's sad. He suffered a spinal stroke (I think), It was something serious to that degree. I'm not sure if he's still in the wheelchair or not, but at least he was for some time. Doesn't even look like him, without all of the muscle mass that he lost.
Oh he also had a jumping elbow drop where he got some nice elevation for a guy his size.
And his spirit has never been more alive! In that sense he's healthier than ever
I remember when he started in CWF. He was managed by Percy Pringle.
Lex for WWE HOF 2014
I like your name man, what inspired it?
Corny was more or less pointing out that on the tapes Nash used a particular set of moves in his WWF tenure as Diesel, so it made setting up Glen Jacobs as fake Diesel easier than the work they had to do to make fake Razor.
Cool
He is in a wheelchair now and looked so skinny when I saw him in person at a local big time wrestling show here in Mass.
Go Sabres!
luger isnt associated in any way with the wwe and hasnt been for years.. where did you get that info from?
Luger had a freak accident back in 2005 or 06 that caused him to be paralysed for a short amount of time. He is so blessed just to be able to walk today. Sure he looks old & frail from the freak accident that caused him to lose all of his muscle mass aided by steroid abuse but at least now he has peace of mind & is in good spirits being blessed to be alive. Why is David Lee Roth doing a WWE Timeline shoot???
I always thought he has a jerk, seems like a nice guy... great release
Lex you deserve everything you got
Love the Buffalo Sabers Jersey hes got on
Mick Jagger?
sting should do one for wcw 1997 i want to know how he feels about that lousy starrcade 97 finish
Ok, 1993 Was Bret Hart's Year... But Who Didn't Love The Lex Express
Yes it was Bret's year but i loved Lex's feuds with Yokozuna and Ludvig Borga.
how was 93 Bret's year when he lost the title at WM and got pushed down the card till 94?!
Lex isn't the same guy now that he used to be. Sting even admitted that Luger hated the business with a passion.
Did you ask him how much he weighs? The internet keeps saying 150lbs.
"Has anybody seen my DMX tape?" - Luger
He suffered a serious spinal injury that left him partially paralyzed and impaired some of his cognitive function. That is the reason why he has wasted away so much.
what exactly happened to him that caused him to deteriorate so much?
Who had a smaller move set Lex or Diesel?
the ultimate warrior. Dude became a multi-millionaire by painting his face, running to the ring, shaking the ropes like a maniac, clotheslining, slamming, and splashing his opponents, AND he usually only had to do it for a few minutes per night LOL
LUGER FOR 2014 OR 2015 OR 2016 OR 2017 OR 2018 OR 2019 OR 2020 WWE HALL OF FAME !!!!!!!
I'm glad he's fine. But if you would have told anybody in 1998 that Lex would ever look like that one day they would have said you're crazy.
No brown nose, but KayfabeCommentaries are a league apart from everybody else who ever got into the shoot interview market.
Luger was a jerk back then, but I'm glad he changed his life for the better.
Vince's biggest problem was forcing Lex to be Hulk Hogan 2.0 instead of letting him remain as a heel. The Narcissist gimmick was fantastic!

I'm sure you look the exact same as you did 15 years ago.(that's sarcasm by the way)
if you have to point out that you're being sarcastic, then there's no point in using sarcasm.
How much does he charge for his time???
Amen.
Ok. Ok. You're the one guy who said that he was "mumbling" incoherently.. He was not. It's not an opinion. He wasn't mumbling lol. Get it now?
From the body of hercules to the DOA.
I disagree Diesel at least had a 5 Star match w/ HBK at IYH 96.
the narcissist was more based than the lex express americana thing
Just because you have a great physique doesn't mean you can't be a good worker. Case in point, Davey Boy Smith.
dave boy smith was a crackhead
lex luger was da shit back in the day
he did smack her around a lot and got busted for drugs I even heard randy slapped her around too
It's insane to see Lex go from 275lb of solid muscle to 175lb in 10 years because of his injury... :(
how was he supposed to maintain his muscle mass when he was so badly injured that at 1 point he even had to use a wheelchair?! Muscle mass ain't like fat. You lose it pretty quickly once you stop working out. Plus, time waits for nobody. We all get older. That alone is a challenge in itself
Well at least he´s still alive.
And about Lugers body...he has been huge for years....but let's get serious....he was on steroids...and he wasn't happy it was a dark time for him....he took em because in those days if u wasn't big u wasn't getting a good paycheck....he is retired now and he's lucky to even be healthy and alive
So, you're saying that he forced her to take the pills?
Did Luger even love to be a professional wrestler?
Legs?
Damn. He looks like Smeagol
Lex is looking like David Lee Roth
As you can see steroids can really take a toll on the body lookin at lex the way he is now...although its great to see him clean by what it looks like...i think elizabeths death spooked him and probally made him make the change...
The Buffalo Sabres? Really?
he smoked his muscles LOL that's basically from crack, cocaine and roids dam he looks 110 yrs old
I wonder if this comes with sub-titles to balance out all of the incoherent mumbling Luger does through all of this...
I bet you like Steve Austin though.
Irony is that a known party animal-drug user heads up WWE's wellness program. Good on him if he is straight, I hope he stays that way
Lex looks like Phyllis Diller.
Stop trying to categorize these shoots, half the time the guy goes off topic and talks about stuff from other years anyway so quit it!
I still think he's somewhat responsible for the death of Ms. Elizabeth.
did he put a gun to her head and force her to mix those different pills with alcohol?! No!? Well then, shove that blame talk up yo ass, lil boy. Elizabeth is the only one responsible for what happened to her, and that's it. May she RIP tho
I want to see what he had to say about the Dink the midget clown question.
hmmmm...Diesel im betting...
I literally laughed out loud..what exactly did you address? ....just because we share differing opinions on something makes it "stupid"....lmao! Dude, as I said earlier, jump off my sack and go land back on Luger's...smh~
He's looking like an old Native American these days.
Dam!!! He has to be 185 pounds
***** after all he's been through physically I don't think he looks all that bad.
No doubt me too. It's to bad he never got a proper run in wwe.
I don't even like Luger. Lol. But he wasn't "incoherent" during this video. I understood everything he said. Sorry, try again.
