keep up the great content! I enjoy the information you share apart from the standard tasting notes that can be found on the other generic whisky review channels. I hope that you get more subscribers over time! Id be curious to know if you prefer 70s or 60s ardbegs. cheers

Hi Ian, thank you very much! This is just a side hobby for me (and a bloody expensive one at that, especially for a student lol) but it would be great to see the channel grow and reach a wider audience. The history, facts, and information are fascinating and important to preserve, so I'll always try to include them in every review. Regarding your question about Ardbeg, I prefer the 1960's and early 1970's for bourbon cask-matured distillate and the mid-to-late 1970s for sherry cask-matured distillate. How about yourself, which vintages do you enjoy? Cheers 🥃

@@maltmoment i much prefer 70s ardbeg for its power after trying quite a few from the 60s which i find less complex to be honest. But then my whisky mentors tell me that the Ardbeg 1965 Cadenhead's 23 Year Old / Mizuhashi Total Liquor Supply is one of the best ever bottled. sadly i missed the chance to taste that.

@@thedrinking_ewok That Cadenhead's 1965 Mizuhashi is also on my all-time bucket list. Sadly, it exited my affordability range (and thus my interest) about 10 years ago hahaha! The 1960s was a simpler profile for Ardbeg but it made up for that with concentration. The sheer notes of rocky minerals, lemons/lemon peels, and fragrant herbal peat are some of the best. The Ardbeg Provenance and some of the early single cask releases that were distilled int he 1970s are incredible, though. The 1970s also go into another realm for the sherry-matured stocks!

@@maltmoment 76 sherried ardbegs can be stunning! the mizuhashi was actually opened here in singapore and sold by the dram a year or two ago. considering its value, its amazing that people here open them

Hi from Brasil, hey man, what is your take on the latest releases ? Im looking at a bottle of these, sad to hear quality is going down.. but it seems to be most seasoned folks opinion..

@@danilo071983 Hi Danilo, thanks for the comment and question. I’m not very familiar with the Brazilian market or the pricing trends there. However, if you can find this for roughly 60 or 70 USD then it’s worth trying. If it’s higher than that, leave it on the shelf.
