That was some good stuff. I saw P2 go onto the grass and knew that wasn't going to end well for him. You need to bring back the pedal cam for those H pattern videos. Thanks for the content.
You may of drifted wide there Dave. But pretty sure it was as much on him as it was you. He turned in on exit. You were full throttle trying to maximise your run out. Not sure why he wasn’t running it to the left of the track aswell. 50/50 racing incident. But props to you for sending the iracing dollars. True gent.
Fun race! And perfect timing, since I just got my new Moza H-pattern shifter and now I can’t wait to try it out. I bought it primarily for Formula Ford, Miata, and maybe Lotus 79 racing.
Nice race as usual ! you gave the idea of going back in this car ! I am 1.5 seconds from you but having fun, started 12th and finish 4th with a spin, no contact :)
Hi Dave! Could be possible that you make a video sharing us some tips to drive the Dallara F3 on IRacing? I can't find so much about that subject, no one with complete information, like when to change gears, how to start from stand, how to brake... I think this great car needs some instructions to begginners made by somebody like you. Hope you can read this and take in account, anyway, thanks for all the videos and the info that you share!
This car is brilliant. You know, there's an immensely fun challenge this week if you so choose to accept. Formula Ford - D class Trophy series at Oran Park. It's a tricky but very satisfying combo.
Hey Dave. I was wondering if you could do a video of your POV and camera settings. I just got an extrusion rig and I’m trying to set it all up and tweak everything but I’m struggling to set up my view. Everything seems unnatural after driving at a desk. Great content as always. Keep it up!
500th person to like this vid!!! T1 was a racing incident and about a 50/50 call. Yes you drifted out but you were still pointing right, your wheels hadn't straightened up yet it is was the lack of grip on cold tyres. Andrew turned in to try and keep away from the outside as he probably felt he was going to drift left too and wanted to keep off the grass at exit. He maybe turned in a bit too much and too sharply but blame for this falls on no-one (yet both of you) 100% racing incident on cold tyres and lack of grip.
As far as the incident, you were turning right. You're wheels are pointed to the right, and then dude just turns even more right and collides with you. Even from the out of car he just turns into you from what I see. Sure you might have drifted a bit wide, but what was his plan with just turning right? The in game spotter had to have told him you were there...
I would say he's recovering from marbles to the line, and you're recovering to the line from the shallow entry. Both have to be aware that the other is there, but as the car which span is making for a recovery that they can't claim the line, as they might entering a corner. And in that essence, racing incident. The line isn't wide enough for 2 cars, and you would be expected to be filling it enough that he's recovering into you. No blame either end I don't think.
You left enough room for more than two cars to the left of you, and yes, he did turn right and into you. You could have taken that right turn more neatly, but you didn't create the situation imho. Anyways: I enjoyed seeing a no downforce oldschool racing.
Not sure why/if my comment got deleted but it was a pleasure to race. Shame I stuffed up on that last lap! That grass can always get the better of you! Was kind of hoping it wouldn’t make a video! Embarrassing haha! 😂😂
@@davecamyt reason for asking. I was thinking vrs or simucube2 and bumped into your asetek review. VRS with their new software and about $500 less is hard to go against. Simucube has the reputation, Asetek has been where you’re kind of locked into their “stuff”. I’m probably going to use about 10nm due to a left arm lack of strength. Did you test the Forte?
@@davecamyt just watched your Forte review. I subscribe to just a handful of reviewers and obviously you too. I like your comparison to simucube and your bold comment that both out performs your simucube2 pro. The sim products now we have a good amount of competition and that helps us sim racers with quality and value. These new sim products reminds me of the top 3 truck manufacturers in the USA. Car & Driver seems to give each truck manufacturer “Truck of the Year” each time one has a new model. Too me (and I was 20+ years in the industry on the retail side gsm) it’s not a true review, more like playing politics and appeasing each manufacture. Your reviews seem more genuine and not concerned if that may scare away other manufacturers from letting you try their product. I’m more of a simple person, more concerned about physics , tire model ffb details then the leafs 🍁 on a sim or the RGB colors lol, im old. Thanks
@@juccavtr you're welcome mate. The formula vee looks the same as the ff1600 but uses a conventional syncro gearbox so you need the clutch in that one 😁
The guy steering into you is 100% at fault. The inside guy will always veer toward the outside of the track. It's the sort of racecraft a lot of people don't seem to have. 'I go right now, good luck everyone!'. Should have anticipated that instead of immediately trying to pinch the guy overtaking.
Kinda disagree, or rather agree with your initial assessment, don't really think it was your fault. You didn't squeeze him, there were no dive bombs, he had plenty of space and even though you weren't fully along side, your front left was along his right rear and you were entitled for room. I think he just turned in on you.
I wouldn't have blamed you for that if I had been the other driver. You left room. I think he started to move over to set up the next corner before seeing if he had room. Just an unfortunate racing incident, IMO.
Jeez, you violated my rear end around Monza in the last community race and I get nothing, you bump old mate and he scores $20 lol. Speaking of community races…………
Thanks for the voucher Dave. Much appreciated. Racing incidents do happen.
Thanks for taking it so well 😁

You know Dave you've just opened yourself up to people crashing into you wanting those 20 iRacing dollars :P Great race!
First lap...Turn 1. Other driver should have seen you there on the inside; but, he still turned in.
A brilliant little race! Even just watching, there's something satisfying about driving using a gear-stick instead of paddles!
YES YES YES YES YES as soon as I saw H-pattern in the name I knew this was going to be 🔥. Thanks Young Dave!

I got a gt4 win earlier today where a dude started cursing on the mic because he spun himself out by turning into me 😂
This car is just so fun, I really enjoy it, great race Dave, I hope to race you at in this car at somepoint 😁

Good race Dave, T1 was a just a racing incident. Not the first not the last one either I’m sure.

I can't wait until these are in the ringmeister series
Hi Dave, great racing mate. Yea racing incident turn 1
I don't think that was your fault... but what do I know?? Lol. Thanks for the Vids. You're my fav.
Dave,
Wondering if you might make a track guide video for this weeks MX-5 Cup at VIR?

that was a good race, i reckon i would have made a mistake on the last lap from trying to get to number 1 so badly
MURDER!
Oh Dave you bad man. 😆
Great racing apart from that T1 incident but I think you were both a little bit to blame.
Keep it up.
👍
I saw you in the practice session mate! I won the other split :)

Yes! I keep forgetting 😂
great video im starting to make iracing content my self and was wondering if you had any tips?
Hi Dave, where is your BDH shifter???
Racing incident at turn one tbh

I didn't delete anything buddy.
Great racing up to that point 😁
@@davecamyt yeah may just not have posted properly. All good!
Racing incident in the first corner for me. You kinda 'fell off' the kerb causing you to drift a little wide while he was wanting to turn in.
Well look Dave with that attitude you can punt me anytime you want mate :P
Dave, what base and rim you using today. Thanks 👍
I'm using the Asetek Invicta wheelbase and the Grid MPX rim 👍

I'm assuming you can rev match ( toe and heel) with a manul 4 speed in iRacing??
Yes but you don't need to do that with most cars if they have a dog box. 👍
Was you not using your clutch in this car . I didn't see the blue clutch bar light up .
No, this car has a dog box so no clutch needed. Lift on the upshift and blip/rev match on the downshift 👍

you use clutch pedal for this one Dave?
No, just lift on the upshift and blip on the downshift
Quick question about the Ford, how much faster if any is it with H shifter or sequential shifting with clutch than auto clutch and paddle shift?
I've not tested the ford but made a video about the assists and the negative impact they have 👍

How very dare you! Never 😁
Dave what software do you use for your Hud ?
This is the Racelabs overlay. Link in the description 👍
What shifter is that? Looks quite nice
It's the Fanatec h patter / seq shifter 👍
auto clutch and auto blip?
Nope, all manual. Lift on the upshift, blip on the downshift 👍
Manual shifting but without clutch?
