- 34th Street bound R188 (7) Super Express Train Ride from Mets-Willets Point to 34th Street-Hudson Yards
Taken July 25th
After every Mets Game, a few (7) Super Express Trains run to 34th Street-Hudson Yards, stopping at:
Woodside-61st Street
Queensboro Plaza
Court Square
Grand Central-42nd Street
5th Avenue
Times Square-42nd Street
34th Street-Hudson Yards
Nice! No joke, the other day, I was looking up to see if anyone recorded a Super Express train ride in the past 5 years. I couldn’t find one. Until now.
same who knew s-experss was so op if u want to get to one place to another in under 30 mins...
didnt even think they ever ran one like this literally skipped 85 percent of queens
I took it July 24th after the Mets won against the Blue Jays. Super reliable.
the super express is after mets games
Former NY’er here, love that I noticed how much how this city has changed after I moved away, seeing the old buildings nostalgia 💯 ❤️ it.
My commuted from Rye to Grand Central Terminal on Metro-North over 30 years. Moved to Chelsea Manhattan in 2004.
Best thing I ever did is move from NYC. NYC is an overly expensive, filthy, and crowded cesspool.
@@frankgrimesificationno you were just broke and needed to seek shelter. Nyc is getting better and better by the day. More expensive true but it cost to live in great places. There’s a reason why the cesspool you call home now is significant cheaper
Always loved the 7 line bc when I was undergoing TCM treatment, I was mostly in Flushing and the 7 line was the only way into Manhattan every Thursday
I like the 7 train because it can take me to the Shea Stadium and queens china town
Nice one Super express trains rare
Ah the 7 super express is back
Toxic peice of ignorance.
@@jqq1536 Uhm what?

The #7 is my favorite line. It's 90 % elevated in northwest Queens! A nice way to see the northwest borough of Queens, New York's lol argent borough by land and population!
This is awesome, nice work!!
The entire NYC train trip documentation community
Woah! I actually got lucky to ride that to. Amazing video.
I been riding the 7 Line for 6 years now, the line never gets boring
This isn't a super express, it's just a regularly scheduled express to Manhattan 34th Street. The only time there was a Super Express was during the 1694 World's Fair. The train had limited stops to pickup passengers starting from 7th Avenue/Times Square. Then it stopped at GC/42nd (I believe it skipped 5th Ave), then through the tunnel stopping only at Queens Plaza. Then it was NON-Stop to the Willits Point Blvd/WF station. It started running after the morning rush hour during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday. It was pretty fast except for when there'd be a Yellow over S along the way.
This train was not a super express. It slowed down at some points along between Junction Boulevard and 61 Street-Woodside. That train did run special express, making fewer stops. It made reasonable time arriving at gap stations. I wish I was on that train from the first car. This show was a nice recoding.
MTA trains are not allowed to bypass stations at full speeds. Trains like the 2, 6, J and Z trains, when they do a skip stop service pattern trains must slow down at approaching stations and once cleared then they can proceed to go full speed. I honestly believe it’s because of public safety especially since it’s so common for people to just jump on a train and get struck and worse, because of suicide.
@@joshuajimenez6893 I know that trains passing stations at their platforms must go no more than 10 miles per hour. Usually, there are people on the station platforms of the stations being skipped. Such trains may be considered as express trains, instead of super express trains. You just typed to a railroad buff.
@@captainkeyboard1007, the only reason why it's called the super express train is right after the Mets game! Either win or lose!
@@jaredjenkins4272 Well, we cannot have it all ways. Thank you for typing to me.
@@joshuajimenez6893 Safety is the main reason for speed reduction that is not done on the Long Island Rail Road and on other railroads around the country. I thought that the 7 Super Express rolled on the express track and not the local track on the main line.
I LOVE this video.
Great vid!
Never heard of a super Express…
Interesting
I did
Never heard of that either and tbh i wish the 4 train had that. Man, Queens has the best stuff...
@@Bloor25 Well, good for you.
Amazing This Video 👌❗ Love the Subway NYC very well ❗😍
Now when (7) is an super express think
How bout (6) should be a super express think
There’s no reason for a 6 Super Express. 7 SEXP exists because after Mets or US open games, people need to get to Manhattan quickly.
I Would Only Ride This Train At Late Night Right After The Game, Either If The New York Mets Win Or Lose!
I saw the block where me and my family lived. The white apartment building in front of the switch tower at 7minutes 49 seconds into the video. We lived there from 1957 til 1961.
If it said super express. That would have been better no cap!
Thanks for the great ride!
That's what she said!
Super-Express 7: 6 s t o p s s k i p p e d

Love Super Express is Trains 7💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Love the 7 train but I feel they need to extend it past its terminus at Main Street-Flushing and join it with the L-train over at 14th Street and 8th Avenue. It would make the 7 train more accessible to those who use it
how far east after Main St-Flushing?
So, these Super-Express trains ONLY stops of they have transfer points like 61st or 42 Grand Central?
I think so
Would make sense
Yeah, Junction Blvd is pointless since it’s only a Q72 bus, and Hunters Point and Vernon serve no purpose besides LIRR, and Woodside exists for that.
The (7) train represents the Flushing Line and runs between Queens and Manhattan only
OK, so what happens when an afternoon game on a weekday ends right around PM rush when expresses TO Flushing are supposed to run? Which route takes precedence?
Express runs on the local track with the (7) Local as the Super Express runs on express. But depends on the location of where the Super Express is at. Was wondering what happened to the Express when I was waiting on it until I realized it was on the local track.
@@blueauq1735 So the express runs on the local track and “deadheads” through the local stops?
Yes, pretty much.
This is when you wish the subway train companies built the 42 Street tunnel - Flushing Line with four tracks
Probably not because the Super-Express only runs for Weekend Games.
Was this after a Mets game??
I like to take a Mta train and the Mta bus. Because the Mta bus and the Mta train are so popular.
Bronx, New york is a great borough And I was born in Bronx, new york. I live in Bronx, New York. And is great and amazing. I like to travel around in new york because I want to discover some places and even go to Applebees too. New York is my life. 😎😎😎

Is this super express only for baseball/tennis games?
wow 3 times in a row i took the (7) train towards queens
(2019) First Time in Grand Central 42 street (7) line to 34th street Hudson Yards.
(2020) 2nd time on the (7) line towards 34th street hudson yards
(2021) 3rd time taking this train to Grand Central 42 street
Especially the Express line
Are the ridership levels back to old times or are trains still nice and empty?
I’d say they’re somewhere halfway but the 7 around Jackson heights gets extremely packed on mornings
@@ihavenoidea5277 I love Jackson Heights! Best food ever!
I call her the Super Electric “11”.
Wow!
WOW!
I rode a 7 train but one of the screen On the top was frozen it said Mets-Willets Point
On Metro-North they're referred to as semi-expresses.
Hm. I thought Semi-Express on Metro North referred to a local train that has limited stops? Metro North has runs that are "super express runs," express trains that skip stops on the express route, like in this video.
wouldnt it make more sense just to call it a Limited?
wheres the super part?
Super-Express means less stops then the regular express, Super sometimes means different in a huge way.
When the video ends.
Definitely not in the speed. It seems just a regular subway train that skips a few stations via a third track or a track on another level. Those trains only gain a few minutes to regular subway trains. They should improve the speed and therefore the infrastructure, they take the curves at walking pace. The infrastructure looks deplorable for any city. If the intention is to nudge people out of the car and into the subway, they’re failing miserably. If the intention is to offer people just transport period, they succeeded. But you could be building houses and apartment complexes at all the carparks downtown, if you could get people out of the car and into the subway. That would ease the house shortages a bit. Build big P&R garages or terrains at the terminus stations of the subway lines (in my country they call them transferia), if necessary extend the subway lines. Make the parking facilities free for charge and guarded 24hrs, but only for people/commuters that buy a subway year ticket. The investment will pay itself back in no time. But first you’ll have to invest with public money, tax payers money. And that’s the big problem in America.
What is a super express train?
Can you do a New Lots Avenue bound 4 train ride during PM Rush
New lots 4 during PM rush? You mean the 3??
@@TavaresTaylor There are 2 select (4) trains that go to New Lots Avenue during rush hour
why did it skip junction blvd
The 7 line Worst line in queens Always signal problems and delays. Main St station hasn't been updated in 35 years.
It’s the best line is Queens, CBTC has proved well.
Super express!?
24:08 was the door broken 💀
the 7 dont play lol
whoopty doo, it only skips Junction Blvd and let's call it super express smh
Also skips Hunters Point and Vernon-Jackson
Long Island railroad is super express just cut the fares

Trains in America look so sad, there just silver and dirty. It would look nicer if there was a paint job.
America the continent has the worst public transport systems rail based on earth.
@@qjtvaddict True dat! Europe and large swaths of Asia have North America blown away with their level of rail service.
Nice video @lanceWright
How come the express train skip junction blvd? 🚈🚉🚇
Cause it’s SUPER express
@@qjtvaddict oh okay.
There is no excuse why this train can't stop at Junction Blvd. There are acting like nobody except persons coming out of City Field or the US open uses the train to Manhattan.
That could save sometime off persons commute out of Junction Blvd.
