I’m thankful I experienced the 90’s era. It was so authentic.
The golden age of hip hop.
The best era EVER!
Imagine the 1980's particularly late 80's
Rap music was freaking crazy and very authentic. Rap had just left the...yes, yes, yall ... you don't stop era. The new styles were plentiful. No biting back then.
@@mustafahajj except for Sugar Hill Gang using Grandmaster Kaz's rhyme book. "Borrowing" his lyrics for Rapper's Delight. Biting has always happened in Hip Hop.
Its just back then, it was few & far between, not as easy to catch and everything didn't sound similar.
These were the days, no doubt.
When hip hop mirrored the NBA bc everybody was gunning for top spots, so most brought their A games. NBA back THEN, not now.
Guys stayed in their on camps most times, no LeBron or BK 3
I admire Raekwon’s patience on answering the same questions he’s been asked a million times in other interviews.
Yeah but he never really answers totally truthfully. They had a mega competitiive rivalry with big and bad boy. That skit was more then just them talking about the album cover, they was saying Big was using "CREAM". Biggie was playing up the persona popping champagne like he was King of NY.
Then on Wu Tang forever RZA went back to it. We told you on the Cubin Link album, stop bitting our shit". He went in on Puffy "Loopin the track trying to turn Rap into R&B, rap and bullshit" "All that Player Shit". "This is Hip-Hop in it's purest form" "Producers its cool to show love but stop bitting our shit"
ODB interrupted the Grammies and said "Puffy is cool, but Wu Tang is the best, Wu Tang is for children"
@@mc365mc What in god's name does "bitting" mean? 🤔

Originality is the big difference between classic hip hop of the 90s compared to today's rap music where these rappers sound alike with the sound of their voice, their flow, beats, slang, and style.
Facts! It is sad.
That was common thing back then too..only difference is that they didn’t blow up
Well there's literally a voice machine im sure your aware of, tht all these rappers use now becuz their voice sucks n thts y they literally sound exactly the same
yes their lyrical skills are too limited & creativity also missing , they are quickly too happy once the money comes. we should just give them the credit were its due they sell to the younger audience & keep the name 'commercial' hiphop moving

How many album covers we done had with dudes pictured on it at various ages and it wasn’t a problem? I was a kid and I thought that shit was ridiculous. @@tears2040 Exactly. I pinned it when it came out. Copycat bitin ass move.
I understand the explanation of it just fine. I just think it’s STUPID to start conflict with somebody over album cover pictures of children. There’s no real precedent or principle to it. Rappers BEEN having pictures of themselves or whoever else at whatever ages on album covers. Nas put a picture of himself(just his face) from when he was 7 years old up against a backdrop of project buildings. Big used a picture of an infant in diapers against a white backdrop. Why is that a damn reason to start conflict? You’ll give the general answer of “biting”, but you can’t actually identify the specific offense therein because, again, there is no principle/ precedent for it.
Artists BEEN having all kinds of pictures of people of all ages against all kinds of backgrounds. What are y’all saying? That since Nas used a picture of his 7 year old face, no other artist can ever use a picture of a child the same age or younger or the same age and up to 7 years older? Is that the specific principle/ precedent? Because if it is, y’all needed to be mad at Nas for “biting” The Howard Hanger Trio album called “A Child is Born”.
That’s where Nas bit it from!

When Big dissed Wutang & Nas on "Kick In The Door" I had no clue who he was talking about until like 3 years ago when DJ Premier broke it down lol. That Eastcoast subliminal dissing was goofy af to me. That's why I respected 50 for saying names when he dissed people. Here on the Westcoast we're known for callin' out names, just ask Kurupt lol
yo i was literally thinkin the same thing. NY rappers (except 50 and Jay in Takeover) like the only ones who sneak diss and throw subs rappers from everywhere else just make in plain if they beefin or talking about somebody
Don’t forget Tim Dog. He dissed the whole west coast by name.
@@AirportPlanes TIM Dog got jumped at a airport man 😂
And Jeru the Damaja
Subliminal dissing is the superior form of dissing because it's a form of lyrical exercise it's skillful and playful. It's gets people talking and it's always layered a certain way that you pretty much have an idea who the artist is talking about. Calling out names is simpleton shit there's no fun in that. Doesn't take skill to say fuck DMX anybody off the street can do that.
Actually GHOST said on Drink Champs that he never got a chance to apologize to Big even though they met and dapped the night before Biggie got killed.
That's exactly what ghost said
He apologized to BIG because March 1997 BIG was the top dog in Hip Hop. Not saying Ghost didn’t mean it but when you’re the man everybody wanna be your friend
Were u around at the time? Just saying. A lot of NY rappers were mad at Big and Bad Boy for watering that NY sound . It probably don’t seem that way now but Big was heavily influenced by the huge West Coast wave 🌊
@@Betoven81 big didn't water nothing down
@@Betoven81 biggie 96, 97 was the hottest rapper in the world period
@@davidphillips1500 no 2pac had 96
@@biggame2175 bro, how old are you? Keep it mind hip hop back then wasn’t like the way it is now. It’s worldwide now. Why You think half of NY rappers were mad at Big? Jeru the Damaja dissed Biggie for the same reason I mentioned on “played yourself”.
Everyone was coming for Biggie head ... King of NYC
The Rza is a puzzle master. The way he arranged and mixed those Wu albums...Epic..if the Rza dont produ...It aint Wu...
Him getting unfocused, or taking on too much is actually a big part of what killed them.
So your post is true
Nah you wrong
Through the lights, cameras 'n action, glam glitters in gold

To conquer peace, leavin' savages to roam in the streets! 🔥🔥 Barz they had good connection on this song everbody understood the assignment!
Cuban Linx is better than both Biggie albums ...
I cant believe you Just said that. You could argue CL was better than LAD but no way was it better than RTD. Do you think CL was also better than illmatic?
@@attainingknowledgeoftruth8348 definitely better than biggie albums its debatable with Illmatic tho. Nas on Verbal Intercourse is God Level 🔥
As much I hate admit your right. But only by a narrow margin
@@Dutch3k5 the 🌎 knows it
Lol
wow didn't actually know that
Niggas bit off nas album cover !!
Raekwon one of the best !
Wu-Tang dissed people on skits only ,that doesn't show balls to me ,they couldn't even go at 50 cent by name (initially). With all due respect
Mase got his jaw broke and you need to listen to that pistol pete interview where he talks about Wu was in the club about to jump on BIG. there's also the footage where certain dudes that was clan affiliated squared off in L.A. with some Neighborhood Crips, Royce 5'9, etc. bad boy went at Wu as well, they used to burn wu flags at their concerts.
Lol wu used to roll 3000 deep trust me if they wanted someone to get touched he would have got touched. At some point the FBI started investigating them because they thought wu tang was a gang, a criminal enterprise. They knew their power and they acted carefully with their power, that’s what makes them even greater.
Could you?
@@larryburks592 bro there was about 300 of them looking to jump BIG... over a album cover if that ain't hate then I don't what is
@@King-ns6dw let me get this straight....Ghost pointed out the bite job. Big got mad because the shoe fits. Goes and makes Kick In The Door. Ghost and Rae was ready for the street shit that came with it, and THAT was 'hate'? Do you write for Deon Cole? 🤣😂

Ghostface one hit wonder, 🙏👼🙏👼
Leave ghostface alone, matter of fact y'all.need to stop talking about people anyways!
one hit wonder? where's YOUR supreme clientele and iron man's at?
Pretty tony album, 12 reasons to die. This fool here. Luke Cage from Netflix was a whole Ghostface album.
You think Ghostface is a one hit wonder? Stay of the lean.
Bruh, do you need drug rehab?? One hit wonder??? Laughable....
I know Ghost happy he made that peace with Biggie. One of the best moves he ever made.
