      You should side chain it so that effect kick in when you let off notes notes

      Great Advice :] I like to do Parallel Processing and lightly Pan the Reverb Only with a slight LFO

    Another tip that works for me, quite the opposite effect but with reverb.
    Very short reverb on a send, like around 1/4 second long with a tiny amount of pre-delay. then add a widener to push it out to the sides, then blend it in with the dry signal where you can feel it but not hear/notice it.
    It works on anything really, drums and vocals are my most used. Feels bigger but still dry at the same time while adding depth.
    Cheers

      I use the same technique. Convolution reverbs with a very short impulse response works best.

      Amazing trick thanks for sharing with the community. If you haven’t already then Check out the bettermaker reverb that recently came out. It had some super nice short reverb sounds!

    Holy crap, Alex.
    When you put the echo on the piano, it was like "meh", but you turned it on for the voice versus dry reverb, it was a light bulb moment.

    I like using Reverb as a transition effect on the last Snare or clap of a beat before a drop, just as the beat ends wack up the reverb on full wet sounds cool.

    You should check out putting a center after your reverb and duck out the middle. Sits WAYYYYY better.

  • @XVIIIPRO

    love this technique, again amazing video;
    small tip i use to take this technique over the edge would be to engage the ducking features on the Valhalla delay, and also the Fabfilter Pro R2 or bettermaker BM60 Reverb with their ducking features also…
    THEN to be extreme i find myself using the Fabfilter Pro-Q3 to EQ match and sidechain the notched frequencies from the vocal to the reverb and pluck them out using some gentle dynamic EQ, to the Mid information… that way i find my snares and hats don’t get lost in that middle section as i tend to flood vocals with reverb 😂

      @@WhoIsAlexElliott I used this all over my upcoming single (“No Mercy”) to get a pro delay sound. The rappers performance didn’t need adlibs, so this gave me that “more felt than heard” emotion. Divine timing I guess.
