Alcaraz himself said many times his game is attacking like Roger. But at same time run like teen nadal and flexible as nole. Glad he is not waiting for errors. I like boom boom🤣🤣
Roger Federer was 21 (not 20) when he won his first GS title at Wimbledon in 2003, and a few weeks later he turned 22. The Swiss player enjoyed a phenomenal run for a few years, racking up big titles at a rate of two or three every year from 2004 to 2007, until Nadal and Djokovic stepped up, especially in 2008. It's hard to predict how successful Alcaraz will be or if other young players will step up the way he has. And of course we must not forget Daniil Medvedev, who already knows what it is to win a slam.
This was dope! Great video production. 👏🏾 Glad you shared the stats and did the comparison of the greats everyone compares him to. As the proud President of the Alcaraz Avengers, I’ll be sharing this very well summarized video with any Carlitos haters! I think they’ll be silenced seeing how his rise to No. 1 wasn’t easy, but is well-deserved.💖
Novak will be around for at least 2 more years with Sinner improving along with Zev coming back Alcaraz will have his hands full. He will win Majors but how many no-one knows!
With the impending retirement of both Nadal and Djokovic, there is definitely an opening there for Carlos to win a lot of Grand Slams over the next 10 years. Provided he remains fit of course. Winning his first Grand Slam will give him tremendous belief in his ability and that is something the other guys seem to lack. Tennis is such a mental game at that level and many great players have been beaten before they even step onto the court through a lack of belief that they can actually win a Major. Medvedev is about the only other player right now who I think actually believes he can compete at a higher enough level to win every tournament he enters. Having a major win this early in his career will definitely help Alcaraz in believing he has the ability to perform well when under pressure and give him confidence going into every match he plays. Will be interesting to see where his journey leads.
I have no words to describe his game. He plays similar to Federer and sometimes Djokovic but he is not Federer. His turning defense to offense in a flash is like Nadal but he is not Nadal. He is a combination of all three and while more physical than Federer has the same heady combination of power and touch (drop shots almost as good or better). He definitely has scope for improvement on his serve placement and sustained focus but he can do it. The bottomline, he is as close to perfection a 19 year old can be, and he can improve even more. That's the scary part. Once he starts serving bombs AND hits his spots, game over. There will be no escape from Alcaraz (Arabic word Alcarrah: cherry tree)
Alcaraz himself said he modelled his game on Roger. Look it up. His forehand is like him. He can play at net like him. But at same time. Movement like Nadal. But he is aggressive minded like roger
@@deepakmahajan170 I'm aware. I know he told a journalist he plays like Federer. The answer is yes and no. He is a attacking, aggressive player like Roger but i think he is even more aggressive than Roger at the net at the same age and his drop shots are just as good, but his movement is much more physical, including defense. Definitely fast like Nadal and flexible like Djokovic (almost for both)
@@calvin9187 True, but Federer hit his peak when he was 22 and won his 1st slam at 21. Carlos has already done so at 19. We don't know yet how much better he can get or how he will play at his peak. Time answers all. Let's find out in 3 years.
Absolutely agree with the video. But people don’t sleep on Sinner. So far he’s shown more than once that he can dominate Alcaraz. This is going to be the next big Rivalry. Also Zverev is going to be a huge contender when he gets back from his injury. Alcatraz said in an Interview after their RG matchup that he doesn’t have the tools yet to beat him in a grand slam. The future looks exciting…
This guy is a sensation and if he get 20 years without others coming along like the way Nadal and Djokovic came along when Roger was ruling the tennis world, then Alcatraz could win 40-50 slams.
I'm not so sure he can even get to 20 slams. He is good but time will tell whether is as good as the big 3. I do think he needs a rival to keep him motivated.
If he doesn't improve his serve speed and first serve percentage, and if he doesn't start hitting more flat shots, I believe he wont win many slams. This is my educated opinion. If he does work on those aspects and improves, then yes, he will be a GOAT.
It would be interesting to think about who would win between a younger Federer at its prime and Alcaraz now at 19, if they both played their best tennis.
Alcaraz today at 19 is nowhere near at his peak, wait what he will be able to do when he is 22, 23, like Federer at his prime. But I agree, it would of course be very interesting to watch them play each other at their prime.
Alcaraz is great but he is nowhere as good as the big three have been these past 20 years. He has beaten them recently yes but they are about 40 years old now and it shows how good these guys have been earlier that they still are winning titles and majors. So of course he is going to dominate the next years or so and let's hope he stays healthy because we need someone to come in and keep the levels of the sport really good. Zverev, Medvedev, Ruud and the others need someone to make them develop further as the big three had in order to win majors, they always knew they would have to beat one of the other two and that was almost impossible. That is the level that has been needed in the past.
Alcaraz at 19 has better results than nole and Roger at 19. Only Nadal had won more titles in 2005 but even in slams alcaraz has better results. So keep up. He will become great with time and it's not his fault he was born in 2003. Players come and go. Sports moveon
@@deepakmahajan170 not Talking results but 3 important factors to become as good over time as the big three. Staying healthy, some real long term competition of a class that will be better than himself, from not just one but two other players. And last but not least all other random things that might stop him from reaching athletic and tennis specific qualities that the big three achieved. They had an unpresidented run in the game of tennis that might not ever be repeated. I am happy for Alcatraz successes but he can’t be compared on the same day with any of the big three until he reaches 10-15 slams 800 matches or more and so on. Djokovic might still beat Nadal in numbers of slams but we don know for sure until he stops playing officially. He is still that good. Nadal might still have a last word to say on a tennis court. Alcatraz is still wet behind everything and is an amazing tennis player just ranked number one. Long live the king!!!
Agree with everyone here, he has literally every shot and every mental quality you would want from a player. His only "weakness" right now is his serve, which is "just" average. So, not really a weakness, but probably the area of his game most likely to improve. Thinking about his comparables, he's like a rich man's version of Rublev. Insane forehand power, above average backhand, and an ultra aggressive style. What set's him apart though is his net transition. He's just so quick to finish points off at the net and his volley game is just otherworldly. Maybe a top five volleyer in the game right now. Then, he has an absolutely lethal drop shot. He's not content to just smash forehand winners. He uses his massive power to set up the short game where his speed has a huge advantage. Rublev doesn't do this much either. Of course, the third thing he has over Rublev is his defense. Elite change of direction ability and elite difficult shot making ability put so much pressure on opponents to finish the point, which leads to a lot of errors or tentativeness from opponents.
If Nadal wants to end up with the most grand slams than he needs Alcaraz because I don't see anyone else stoping Djokovic from ending up with 25 slams!
The thing about number really isn't that interesting because i am pretty sure the big 3 needed like 15000 points to reach no 1 instead of 6000. He is amazing rn, but we can't say much about his consistency and how long he can stay at the top for. Nevertheless I am excited for the Sinner and Alcaraz rivalry.
You are so exaggerating with these numbers. Had the Wimbledon points counted this year, Carlos would still be no.1. Sinner is so overrated, overhyped and injury prone, he's almost 2 years older than Carlos and I don't think he will keep up with him.
We've heard it all before the previous up-and-coming stars the next generation and so on . You need to give somebody like this a few years to mature and see what he can do before going out and calling him a future star.
The only tricky thing about Alcaraz seems to be.... how do we pronounce Alcaraz? I think Americans tend to stress the first syllable: AL-ca-raz. In Spanish it is stressed on the LAST syllable: al-ca-RAZ, and now Tennis Plus stress it on the middle syllable 😀 al-CA-raz But yes, it should be alcaRAZ. By the way, he calls himself Charly or Carlitos. He doesn't like being called Carlos. Weird, but that's the way it is.
@@pveraeternvs3777, the way they pronouce their surnames. Whe should respect that. It's a matter of identity. Carlos Arcaraz pronounces his name "Carlos Alcarath", so the rest of us should do the same. It's not a matter of linguistics, but of human rights.
@@robert111k go tell it to south americans and some spaniards. We don't have (i'm a southern spaniard) the "th" sound. It's called "seseo". That doesnt mean disrespect to the way he says his last name lol. Spanish is huge, it's spoken by more than 500 million people. Differences of pronunciation is just natural. In english you can say alcarás or alcaráth, both are equally right
@@pveraeternvs3777, no. He calls himself "Alcarath". It's his identity. It's a matter of respect. Since the sound "th" exists in English, they should call him the way he calls himself. Btw, I usually hear Latinamericans trying to emulate the English pronounciation, wich is not "natural" to them, when naming people that have English surnames. Why they don't tray the same in this case? Well, they can do whatever they want to since it his his mother tongue too (it would be nice that they adapt to the Alcaraz's pronounciation, nevertheless), but anglosaxon people should adapt to what Alcaraz himself considers it is his name, his identity, the same as they try to do with Auger-Alliassime, for instance, whose name try to pronounce as "Frenchy" as they can.
Sorry to say this. Alcaraz will suffer a lot of injuries in his career. He tries to hit the ball too hard, this will lead to a lot of injuries. He has had a great start to his career but it won't be as great as we imagine. He will suffer a lot of tough, heartbreaking defeats in the next few years. I don't see him getting up from those. Anyways, let's see.
If he keeps improving at the rate he has in the last year he could stop Novak from overtaking Nadal because I think Rafa may win the French and Novak to win Wimbledon and Australia,The US Open seems the most difficult because the big 3 it 12 times between them which is considerably less than how many times they've won the rest.So Carlos could be the guy to stop Novak from getting to 24 which I think he will need.
Where is the actual analysis and analytics numbers? This is ALL NARRATION only? Yes his current trajectory is excellent. However, what are his potential limitations?
Carlos would still be no.1 with the Wimbledon points added, and USO was never Djokovic's best slam. He could have easily dropped out early as he did in past years.
@@mireafelder8194 yes but we can agree it definitely increased the odds of another player becoming #1 by a lot. The long time #1 couldn't earn pts in 3 majors as well as 2 or 3 master1000 events. And how deep did Carlos go in the other slams btw? Good for carlos for beating out the rest for #1, but he only has 6740 pts. That's obsurdly low for a #1. A slam title and two master1000 titles. Nadal at 19yrs had a slam and 4 or 5 master1000 titles, which only got him #2. Just highlighting the facts.
If we talk in number of Grand Slams, I think he can go to 30. But Nadal and Djokovic would have been able to as well if the other hadn’t existed. What’s noteworthy is that Alcaraz doesn’t really have a rival right now.
Improve his serve and backhand? I don't know what you've been watching, but he is a complete tennis package. Backhand, forehand, serve, touch, speed. Five tool player.
@@jimiyu., according to his coach he is only 60% of his potential. On the other hand, I can see no flaws in his game. Maybe his serve is not consistent enough (for his standards) yet, but the rest of his shots are above (some of them far above) the ones of his rivals.
He made some ballsy predictions about Alcaraz earlier this year like putting him in top 8 at the end of year, for which he got pretty nasty comments, lol.
@@Courtside_Tennis 😉 But please, don't butcher the pronunciation of his name ever again as you did in this video. It is said Alcaraaaz, pronunciation on the last syllable. More like Alcaràtz. Not Alcaaaaaras.😉

I think that those who think Carlito Is not that good Is only because Carlitos Is thinking only in slams jajajhajaj. Djokovic- Alcaraz Will be a Semi or final in AO2023 very very interest like Sampras - federer in 2001
If Federer Nadal and Djokovic wourld have been able to play like 2003-2018 Carlos would not be in the Top5 or be World number 1, If Djokovic would have his 2000 Points from wimbledon Carlos would not be number one either. I think he is a good player, but clearly overrated in therms of the circumsctances.
Shooting stars burnout quick. He is an exciting player to watch, however that level of power play puts a tremendous stress in your body, mind and spirit, very hard to maintain.
Can still happen ... when Federer dominated, few thought anyone else will come close to his records. Apart of Nadal that gave him trouble early, no one was thinking, up until 2007, that there would be 2 more greats that would challenge him. But still early days for Alcaraz. He plays well but there are good players out there that are pushing him to 5 sets as we saw at the USO. It's not sustainable to keep winning like that.

He's almost 2 years older than Carlos, hasn't improved much this year (still just no.12 in ATP live race) won just one meager 250 title against an injured Carlos in Umag this year. And he is very injury prone given his fragile body. To be honest, I think Sinner is way overrated and can't live up to the hype.
@@radieschen79 carlos isn't injured but lost focus that day
looking forward to see more of Carlos.
Alcaraz himself said many times his game is attacking like Roger. But at same time run like teen nadal and flexible as nole. Glad he is not waiting for errors. I like boom boom🤣🤣
Well produced. Can't argue with any of this, he is the future of ATP tennis.
Thanks for sharing a lot of quality info about Carlos and how he became what he is atm. Truly Remarkable player!
My pleasure!
This aged well....just won Wimbledon
Alcaraz is already the present
New generation of great player. He has really good feel for the ball placement and try not to over hit. But mentally he is strong also.
That has got to be the largest jump in ranking to #1 in the same year. 56 to #1
Imagine if Rafa had stayed injury free…
Oh my
Novak will be around for at least 2 more years with Sinner improving along with Zev coming back Alcaraz will have his hands full.
He's very exciting to see play and he's tactically smart..mixes up shot selection very well as well as being strong, fast, agile.
Definitely fast like Nadal and flexible like Djokovic (almost for both)
@@calvin9187 and carlos is 19. Peak fed was 23 to 26. At 19 carlos was better than both nole and Roger. Only Nadal at 19 had more titles
@@calvin9187 True, but Federer hit his peak when he was 22 and won his 1st slam at 21. Carlos has already done so at 19. We don't know yet how much better he can get or how he will play at his peak. Time answers all. Let's find out in 3 years.

So many high expectations for this man at such a young age, hopefully something bad doesn’t happen to him that derails his career
He has already shown he can live up to the expectations. Other than injuries nothing can derail his career.
oh the joys of two Carlos Alcaraz. One Spanish, One Argentine. One who plays tennis, One who plays football. Won't get awkward, right?
Vamos Carlitos, todos contigo! Í
He will be better than all those before him because of his tremendous humility and grace.
He is injury prone for now
Zverev and FAA have good records against carlos, but FAA has been lucky two times. Zverev has beaten him fair and square
I'm not sure he can even get to 10 Slams.
@@levronyames6680 One step at a time. Get to 3 slams next to match Murray and Wawrinka.
If he doesn't improve his serve speed and first serve percentage, and if he doesn't start hitting more flat shots, I believe he wont win many slams.
This is my educated opinion.
If he does work on those aspects and improves, then yes, he will be a GOAT.
He still will win slams even if he doesn't do any of those thing
He is the closest thing possible if Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic were combined into one person.
Very well rounded and scripted video. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Terima kasih videonya terbaik
It would be interesting to think about who would win between a younger Federer at its prime and Alcaraz now at 19, if they both played their best tennis.
Alcaraz today at 19 is nowhere near at his peak, wait what he will be able to do when he is 22, 23, like Federer at his prime. But I agree, it would of course be very interesting to watch them play each other at their prime.
Federer at 19 would be a pushover for Alcaraz.
@@westonmeyer3110 That's very true, coming from a Swiss and a lifelong Federer fan.
Time is the most credible predictor.
Alcatraz is the best getting better everyday!
Am hoping for Ruud, as i am a Norwegian. Carlos looks like a bodybuilder playing tennis. Stamina 2, confidence. Very hard to beat
Ruud is a great plater and nice guy. Congrats.
Great start certainly but that still doesn't mean that we will see future tennis king. Time will tell.
That guy doesn't look like his father at all!
Swapping randomly between at least two different pronunciations of ‘Alcaraz’ was extremely jarring…
Not to mention so lazy and annoying. It's a simple name.
I can imagine how you deal with russians and serbians.
I remember that in Miami Jim Courier predicted Alcaraz would win a GS in 2022
This tennis video would be better if the uploader could prònounce the players' names correctly
I'm guessing the uploader used some sort of computer voice generator.
Why do all of these videos start with "Just How Good Was (Fill In The Blank) Really?" Is it really that interesting of a title?
Lets hope he doesn't become a player who peaked too soon. As it has happened with so many people across multiple sports
If Nadal wants to end up with the most grand slams than he needs Alcaraz because I don't see anyone else stoping Djokovic from ending up with 25 slams!
You really need to correct your pronunciation of Alcaraz. Great video though.
Everybody should. It is "Al-ka -rath", with a final "th" sound like in "bath" and the stress not on the first syllable but on the last one.

@@radieschen79 alcaraz already won more anyway
We've heard it all before the previous up-and-coming stars the next generation and so on . You need to give somebody like this a few years to mature and see what he can do before going out and calling him a future star.
Because at nadal and djokovic time they had peak roger, but Alcaraz time, he has no one in front of him yet.
The only tricky thing about Alcaraz seems to be.... how do we pronounce Alcaraz? I think Americans tend to stress the first syllable: AL-ca-raz. In Spanish it is stressed on the LAST syllable: al-ca-RAZ, and now Tennis Plus stress it on the middle syllable 😀 al-CA-raz
But yes, it should be alcaRAZ.
By the way, he calls himself Charly or Carlitos. He doesn't like being called Carlos. Weird, but that's the way it is.
And, of course, like Muguruza, which is pronounced Mu-gu-ru-THA, Alcaraz is pronounced AlcaRATH.
@@robert111k pronounced that way in some parts of spain. Majority of spanish speakers pronounce alcarás, and mugurúsa
Carlitos is AWESOME
The pronunciation made this impossible to watch as a Spanish person
And he has just won the Wimbledon ending Djokovic's 10 years unbeaten streak on centre court.

Carlos is a #1 with an asterisk*
The ranking system (wimbledon), and Djokovic not being allowed to play AO and USO scews it a bit.
Carlos would still be no.1 with the Wimbledon points added, and USO was never Djokovic's best slam. He could have easily dropped out early as he did in past years.
