I love how the ways he explains with the game actually coincide with how I think and he's just propelling me to actively think during my games, thinking about it. Posing each scenario as if I was an acter and not just to shrug it off as a "plain video game". Found myself thinking more rationally and playing better that way. Thanks banana man!!
Yesterday I actually played omen and flanked the same way for the first time (I'm below gold). Owning space is so broken, thank you for explaining it in a way that can help me replicate that game again!
I'm practically new to playing val seriously, and I was hardstuck on Iron like for 3 months, and in just 1 days, after watching these vids and following the tips I just went up to bronze. I know is not that much, but imma be improving! Thanks!
09:09 Woohoojin has the quality of life features that everyone should strive towards. As someone who tests software for a living, I can't explain how happy I am to see the attention to detail with even the smallest things. From what I see, Woohoojin has a mindset that plans for these kinds of things ahead of time. Everything he does has these small details springled across (from what I have seen at least) In a perfect world, this would be the standard that everyone would strive towards. But unfortunately, most people think it is too much work, or don't even realize that they are missing it in the first place. Huge respect for this!
8:24 that free bullet during the overflick before stepping into the adjust is something I've always done instinctively despite me believing it to be a bad habit. Thanks for this. Would you happen to have tips for how to preaim or adjust during a crouch peek or how to eventually swing (or not) after a jump peek? I feel like these are awkward for me. Or how to engage or disengage when faced by a double peek for example. As trades get faster I feel like committing to sprays has its own mini game too. I know these aren't part of healthy beginner friendly gun hygiene but it'd be nice to hear your thoughts about these types of gun fights
Hello Mr. banana man. I am a somewhat new player to Valorant and have been watching your videos, I placed plat 1 this act and have climbed to immortal in 2 weeks (your videos are extremely helpful). In a boomer to diamond episode you mentioned that some immortal players would never reach radiant, but I was curious as to your take on how long it would take an immortal 1 player who is fully committed and good at learning to reach radiant? And is it worth the grind? I have no gauge on how long it would take lol.
in the defense of the jett at 0:04 they probably did not flank for this reason but skye had just gotten a pick on the reyna and are now up in numbers and if there is someone lurking over at a and he gets caught out they lose that advantage and he could also go and pick up the entrance to b since no one is holding it (but I doubt that is what went through their mind)
I really want to do a vod but i dont have really good pc specs and alr without the vod recording i drop sometimes to 60 when my monitor is 75hz and i really cant buy new specs buy i have really good games every day what should i do wait or just try
15:51 "every map has a different win condition" Wait but whats the win condition on each map? I recall you saying something like on Ascent you win by taking advantage of defender misdakes / playing 'perfect' defense. Now I also know that on Haven map control is key; finding the weakest site and using that. *(I mean I already had a suspicion but you just confirmed.)* I think Bind is about making the defenders over rotate, isn't it? To take a site before they can react, because retake is so much harder. But what about the other maps? I've heard that you are meant to push one side of the map on Fracture... And what about Split or Pearl? Are those about mid control?? I feel so lost! ;-; For the record I'm Silver 2 Sentinel Main / Controller Filler, I just hit 100 hours in Competitive overall and this is pretty much the first FPS chategory game I play. (I grew up on Minecraft Singleplayer what about it?) Anyways, I've been trying to improve and Hooj your videos are very helpful, but I seem to be stuck and I'm starting to think I simply don't have enough experience. Haven and Ascent are my best maps and I'd say I know them quite well, but something like Fracture or Split.. I'm still not sure about the best ways of routing and my crosshair placement is off more often than I'd like. Magic#5964 is my account if anyone's interested. Edit / Addition: 22:29 This "Classic Duelist vs Non-Duelist Conundrum" perfectly describes me and my cusin.
a question. would you rather prefer he die while flanking or rotate and not die, since kj was still alive no? since I'm sure you'd still find something wrong in the flank anyways. might be a dumb question but 🤷♂
I'm pretty sure he explained well that the goal of the flank is to contain and not ego peek, duel and die. It's a simple concept that if you're a decent enough player, you'll know the difference between what you just commented, and what woohoojin meant.
2:47 "which is in fact what Fnatic does all the time" Wait I thougth you didn't follow the eSports! Didn't you say something like that before? Or am I just confusing something? I guess my memory isn't the best after all... Maybe it was regarding the tech, that us solo que players shouldn't exactly copy what they do because they are 'simply on a higher level'.
im not bananer man but it sounds like a positioning problem, u might be putting yourself in bad spots/angles. try noticing what places you’re holding, should find something there maybe
What’s a good way to keep energy? I’ve noticed that I do much better the first half than the second half and I think it’s mostly because I lose energy and make dumber decisions
@Woohoojin im currently g3-p2 and i mainly play sentinel, sometimes smoke and initiator when ever enemy not coming to my site, i tried to push up to cover more space. AND EVERY FUCKING TIME MY TEAMMATES MIC ME WITH CRINGE VOICE TO ANCHOR BACKSITE🤦, mayb im wrong to push. Sometimes i get rewarded sometimes i get 1 tapped😂😂😂
Would the idea of pushing flank if theyre trying to hit the stacked site still apply with an OP or would it be better to just stay long holding it down? The push up seems super strong but riskier since the flank watch would be much easier
Holy shit, why have I never thought of this before? Imagine containing with a kj or something! That would be some good use of util! Pocket one molly, recall both your alarm bot and turret and delay their fall back or get a few cheeky kills. That’s crazy!
This isn't great. Ideally you read the enemies so you are set up where they will hit, and you don't have to try to contain them. Take ascent b for example. As KJ, it makes more sense to play off your utility if they come to your site (there's a reason you see BabyJ hiding stairs or backside on a camera for an entire minute before he rotates) Half the time that you want to push past your setup you'll get caught out and just give them a free site, because her kit just isn't conducive to surviving an encounter. Cypher would be better at containing, with his cages helping him survive if things go sideways. On top of that, if they break a turret flank, they know there isn't a kj setup wherever they want to hit 😢
@@L0wSkiller and what if they never do hit your site? Say you’re set up on A and they all go C, you’ve just wasted your entire util in the off chance that they might rotate back to A. Stop them from rotating or stall which gives you enough time to get back to your site and by the time they get there you may have your turret back from cooldown.
some of the advice in woohoojins vids are great but in this one he is really over complicating millisecond split decision things. hard to watch him nit pick literally everything that no human on earth can do these things.
time to get potassium beamed into my brain
your explanations are incredible. youve changed how i think as a player, in not just valorant but in almost every game i play, thx woohoojin ❤
Actually so true ive solo queued up to ascendant 1 now from like plat 3
Can you shut up?
09:09 I never see someone with big effort doing this before, thank you so much woohoojin and respect to editors

It's funny how many times the talking Banana explains that 5/3 isn't equal to 2, for the Haven mini game.
You explain alot of things like in valorant like its chess, i love it
10:25 that's something really helpful I just learned lol

Potassium Knowledge. Mind blown.

I’ve gone from a peak plat 1 last act to playing in asc lobbies thanks to your playlist and your daily videos
I went from silver to plat, hoping i can continue like you, cheers mate

Mr woohoojin, I just looking around your video description, and I see cs go as the game, not valorant, idk if it intentional or not
this dude make Valorant sounds like a Class.......and its a fun Class indeed.
