How does an 1800s helmet just happen to cross paths with you? When all the elements and perfect timing are on your side, you have that special honour. Incredible. I bet you're over the moon
Thank you Francesca, it was exactly like you described it! The forest patch I was about to investigate was square, but I just wanted to check out the edges. When I looked to the other side, something told me to cross this section and right there it was! Like magic, I mean you saw it. :) It was a perfect day, where (as you wrote) everything came together. Have a great day!
Thank you for the comment. I also have to wonder about the amount of buttons. The button vs "something else" ratio is really odd. I was wondering lately if other people maybe overlook buttons in my area, because the ID is jumping, or the signal is not solid enough (especially on "empty" 1700's buttons, or the ones with a loop). Whatever it is, I'm glad that they are there, otherwise it wouldn't be as exciting. Have a great day & greetings to Finland! 👍
Ah, Mr. 24! The helmet is a stupendous find, as is the open-topped thimble. My father was a master tailor and I loved playing with his tools of his trade. Take care, from me in Australia 😁
Hello Liz, thank you very much for the comment! I found many thimbles in the past, but this particular one was beautiful. Greetings to Oz! Have a wonderful day! 👍
Hello Mr Md 24, Awesome Helmet Such a great Find A lot History Still to be found and Such a pretty Place To be.Thanks Again For the Video treasure hunt always fun To watch Have A Great weekend. ⛏️😊👍🙏
Hello Wendy, thank you very much! It was a nice patch of the woods, with finds being a bonus. I hope to extend the area in the future. Have a great day! 👍
Heute lacht man darüber.
Nochmals vielen Dank! Ich wünsche Dir einen schönen Tag. Beste Grüße!
The helmet must of been one of those 😮 moments. Are you going to try and restore it ? Nice little project if you have skills, which I'm sure you do ! Still my favourite channel ❤
Hello Nina, I would have to go back and bring it home first. I don't know if I have the skills to make the best out of it, but I have an idea and could try. The problem would be the mechanical damage. Getting the dents out would be the difficult part. I don't know if I would even try... Thank you very much for watching (and the compliment 😉). Have a great day! 👍
Hello Wayne, I don't know it's hard to tell. To me it looks like someone (back in the day) came to the spot to get rid of what he considered being "trash". All this might have been buried at some point in time. Maybe someone (another detectorist) already dug and left it on the surface, to cover the rest and as you wrote, to mark it. The helmet seems to have been longer on the surface.
1700 and 1800s claypipes, but it's broken. I think t is🤔 Whe call it Pijpwroeter in Holland. Still have fun detecting 👍I'ts a way of life, I love it....Suc6 MD24
Thank you very much for the suggestion! It would compliment some of the (pipe) wind caps I find. You are right. Detecting is a way of life. One has to be dedicated, otherwise it wouldn't work and be as fun. Thank you once again. I wish you all the best. Greetings to Holland! 👍
I love those open top thimbles. That was an excellent example of one. ✌️😎
I agree, this one looked very nice indeed. Thanks for watching! 👍

This helmet from the great war 1618 - 1648 ; so it fits to the other 1700s relicts !
@@wolfgangemmerich7552 I only went by what was written on screen. He said 1800s?

You can find a lot of old buttons in the forest in Germany. Really rare forest finds in Finland. There are a lot of buttons in the fields.

Thank you, I'll try to bring it home in the future. Have a great day!
Oh wie ich deine "Vogelkette" liebe....😎
The round ring with the iron piece could be a rein guide, but it could be too small.😊
Gorgeous!
Hello, thank you very much for the suggestion! Have a great day! 👍
Great video as usual. Do you think they left that helmet there as a marker?

Part of a victorian twist pencil
Thank you very much for the info and your comment! Have a great day!
Mal was anderes... Beste Grüße!
42 looks like a training round, wood core metal tip
I think with all the decorative detail it should be "pen" related, but who knows... Thanks for the suggestion & have a great day!

Looks a bit like a french adrian helmet, WWI.
Thank you very much for the suggestion, I will look it up.
I think you found a dump site I would definitely return
Hello Donald, I will think about it. I would have to bring my shovel this time. 🙂
4:42 could be a pipe cleaner.
Find them a lot in the Netherlands

german feuerwehr helmet 1920s?
That would be my guess. Maybe late 1800's? Maybe not. Who knows.
Thank you very much for your comment.
Have a great evening! 👍
French helmet
Must bin from the 1618 - 1648 war ; it fix to the other 1700s relicts .
Hmm, I don't know, but I will look at French helmets later. Thank you very much!
@@wolfgangemmerich7552 Hello Wolfgang, it would be nice if this was the case, but I really think it's rather from 1800-1900's. Thank you very much!
