This is somewhat similar to what I do occasionally. My dystonia is intermittent involving primarily only my rt side "trunk" area. I draw up on the rt holding rt arm bent like hers into my side and sorta leaning (more than her) on that side and walk is halting almost identical to her. When it's most severe I almost hunch to my rt side like Quasimoto which can be quite embarassing even if unable to do anything about it. The 'attacks' come and go as they please.
Curious as to how you have helped/worked with her? I have dystonia in one leg and am wondering if you've had any success helping her walk more comfortably? Thanks in advance!
I don't get it, is her quadriceps unable to lock the knee or is there a synergistic impairment between hamstring and quadriceps? Can someone enlighten me ?
This patient has dystonia, a neurologic movement disorder affecting the basal ganglia. The coordination of her gait has been affected causing poor quad control, inhibiting her ability to weight bear during stance phase, and the step-to pattern as seen on the right leg's swing phase.
