    I learned so much about diecast car collecting from your videos....I have a lot of Hot Wheels and Mattel...rmostly real makes and models...I hate the fantasy cars unless related to TV series and movies I love....I just bought a Greenlight Atlanta Police Ford Crown Victoria, a Auto World 66 Chevy Impala , and a Greenlight 71 Chevy Chevelle SS from the Supernatural TV series...beautiful cars...the quality is better...that pink 240Z is so hot....I love American muscle and JDM from the 70's to the 2000's...European models not so much but I have quite a few vintage Ferraris, some Mercedes Benzes, and a couple of Jaguars!

    Minichamps is a great German brand! They do a great job on 1:43rds. I like about all brands you've shown, but Jada, which really screws up big time. Their cars are completely out of scale and proportion! Thanks for the video! It was great!

    Hi, thank you for this video. I started with collecting just Hot Wheels and Matchbox and then added a few Johnny Lightnings and then a few M2s . I recently saw an old Racing Champions from 1998 in a local food market for $2 and picked that up. It is a 1956 Chevy Nomad station wagon with Terry Labonte's Kellogg's #5 livery. I am thinking about getting some Green Lights but will need to get to Toys R Us as my local Walmart doesn't carry them. It was great to see the different brands available. I like the Japanese brands but really want to buy my diecast in a store as opposed to online.

    Man you think like how I do. These cars are made overseas now, which yes it is unfortunate, because the few brands back in the day, being made in US were made exceptionally well, BUT most of these little diecast are still beautifully made to this day overseas or not. Good video !!!

    Do you remember a 1/64th scale line or company... where all their cars had the same rear bumper the red tail lights looked basically the same. I thought it might be called fast backs or something like that. Can’t figure it out.

  • @SteveBrandon
    @SteveBrandon 7 років тому +1

    There's also Corgi, one of the biggest British brands back in the day but I don't think they ever had much of any American market penetration. I've found maybe a dozen or so at Value Village thrift stores in Canada.
    Going back further in time, there was Kenner's attempt at 1/64 diecast, Fast 111s (pronounced "Fast Ones"), where the gimmick was that each car had their own unique license plate number, although the downside of that was that the license plate sticker was put on a uniform bumper with painted taillights that looked out of place on nearly every car that wore it.

    Hi HeavyMetal One64!
    I have an existential question.
    On the M2 Machines Ford 4x4, did you put a '70 F-100 base from the Walmart Titanium Series on a Auto-Trucks R32 '69 F-250 ?
    It's a terrific result!

    • @HeavyMetalOne64
      @HeavyMetalOne64  7 років тому +1

      Yes, I used the titanium for some and the patriot series for the others.

    I actually have a question for you, I have asked in a forum on the Hot Wheels Collectors web site and emailed Mattel but not received an answer. The Hot Wheels Vintage American Muscle 1971 Maverick Grabber is listed on Hot Wheels Wiki as being Spectraflame blue, does it really have Spectrafllame paint? It looks like it might, it really is a great color.

    • @HeavyMetalOne64
      @HeavyMetalOne64  7 років тому

      Without having that car tonexamin, I can't say for sure. What I can say though, is the supers have spectra flame paint and sometimes it's hard to tell.

    So many diecast companies out there...my poor wallet :)
    At where i live, we only get Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Welly and some Majorette and Jada stuff occasionaly.For everything else, i'd have to order online from Specialist stores in Europe, or from Ebay.I'd really like to get my hands on some cars from Tomica Limited Vintage, but the shipping costs plus custom fees make it prohibitive. So i settle for other brands like Johnny Lightning and Autoworld wich i can find for sensible prices.I feel Autoworld provides the best bang for your cash if you want to have some premium models in your collection.I like GreenLight castings as well.MiniChamps are great, but can't find anything in 1/64 scale.

    • @HeavyMetalOne64
      @HeavyMetalOne64  7 років тому +2

      1/64 is a generalization. Companies like matchbox go on the 3 inch rule of thumb. Premium brands put more of an emphasis on scale.

      @zxccxz164 7 років тому

      zxccxz164 Brands like Hotwheels and Matchbox are made to be cheap and accessible. If you want scale accurate 1:64 models, TLV is the way to go. They have buses, trucks, vans etc.

    Wich of these has suspensions?

    • @HeavyMetalOne64
      @HeavyMetalOne64  5 років тому +1

      The only brand currently making die-cast with suspension is Tomica. Some older brands like older matchbox, Konami, majorette, and a few others had it, but today, virtually no manufacturer does it. Tomica is the only brand that I know of.

      In regards to 1/64 scale

    • @recko7560
      @recko7560 4 роки тому

      The suspension is the axle wire, the harder the material used for the axles the easier it springs back. Some makers use spring steel, while other makers use mild steel. Which with mild steel the wheels get that bowed effect when pressing down to hard and won't spring back.
