Hi 😁👋🏽, I’m in year 12 in Sydney. Love the videos btw especially this ucat one (which luckily I just watched before starting prep). Just a quick question, what do you think the ideal atar is for UNSW especially. I know this question gets asked a lot but I was curious and frankly a bit nervous on my progression for the rest of the year!
hi Lakshmi!! 👋🏻 thanku for loving my videos !! :)) as for ideal atar to get an offer...honestly it depends on the cohort every year. a general rule is the higher your atar the slightly more leeway you get with your ucat (eg higher atar can balance out a slightly lower ucat [but not like extremely low, aim for at least mid-high 90s. but even then ucat has been trending higher every year so the safest bet is always 98-100]). i think entry into med is getting more competitive every year so the scores seem to keep increasing every year. unless you are a rural student or has EAS, i think 99.80 should hopefully be a safe bet, combined with a 98 ucat? but i may be really wrong!!!! anyways good luck, it's super normal to be nervous about year 12 but i think focus on what you can control + sleep well! ☁️
definitely lower HAHA i somehow performed the best i ever did on the actual day which was quite funny + nice. my medentry percentiles were pretty bad... from memory i think i got like 60~85?

hey Liz, up to you but i reckon now's a good time to really hammer down on timed practice - do timed subtests and timed papers. then you can review your mistakes/incorrect answers under untimed conditions if you wish. would definitely recommend doing more timed practice (maybe 80-90% timed practice?) hope that helps & let me know if you have any other questions ☃️
