Gee's, 7.5 qt $350! It must be a terribly complex and labor intensive process to enamel cast iron to justify that price? I too try to support made in USA products, but that seems a bit ridiculous!
Edit: After much research about there new USA made enamel and everything they went through to bring it to market, it honestly was truly inspiring and there price point is now fully understandable. Lodge had to literally build from the ground up an all new dedicated factory just to pull this off. And I'm proud to say I now own a fully made in USA enamel dutch oven!

An FYI , you can use soft scrub on the inside of enameled pans to remove any stains, also it’s not recommended to use stainless steel utensils, there is a seal around the edge and the stainless steel utensils will break the seal!

I have 3 enameled cast iron dutch ovens. I have never store the lid on the pan. In fact, I don not store any lids on any pans. That way there is air circulation, and I know the pans will be dry. If a lid fits tightly, heat and cool can cause condensation and the pan can get wet inside. I store my lids in a homemade lid rack.

All I knew is that I didn't know how to pronounce the FAVRE on the back of his shirt. Interesting how your pamphlet said made in China. I had heard that they were also made in Vietnam. I just bought one (from Fred Meyer) to replace one we damaged and my pamphlet had the same section about where it's made and it says Vietnam. I just checked the box and it also says Vietnam. Mine came with 4 rubber spacers, but a smaller 4qt I bought 2 years ago came with 6. The 4qt bakes a loaf of bread every week and looks like it's new.

That is great that you already have many cast iron pieces, as do I. To answer your question, I do feel like enamel is a game-changer, though. Even when I was using my Aldi find, Crofton, there was such a difference from non-enameled cast iron. You can cook acidic foods easier, in my opinion. Clean-up seems to be easier. It is more non-stick (although I am aware that a well-seasoned cast iron is and should be non-stick). I would highly recommend you find some sort of enameled cast iron...whatever you can afford. I know they are expensive (the good ones like this one) and that is why I am so thankful to Lehman's for sharing this with me. I *know* they are expensive, but yes, I do reach for my enamel lined most every time. I mostly just fry in my non-enamel Dutch oven.

You won't buy from Lodge because _you_ didn't look to see where a product was made? Furthermore, if you weren't happy with where it was made, you could have just returned it for a refund and lost nothing.

My experience is Nothing in China id fired at the appropriate temperature so the enamel leeches off into the food. You can taste it and the longer it cooks the worse it gets. Throw onions or peppers in them and it's downright toxic tasting.
