hey Joop hope you are doing great, its a very good project would love to see an electric inline skates with control :)
OLder sewing machines have big separate motors the size of a cigar case. Try another vid with one of those motors.
I need to do this myself, nice winter project..
cool project, your kid was having fun with the wonderful skateboard
My thought was adding some kind of dynamo with gears that can be used as a breaking system aswell as charging the batteries at the same time.
Loved this project. It's really cheap. I was searching for a eletric skateboard like this because in my country Brushless motors are really expensive and those brushed motor are more easy to find.
U nas to samo :/
@@Vegeta-xk8wy you from Russia?
No, i from Poland
sir! you have deep knowledge and good explaination
So interesting! great videos and website!
Cool :-)
In a brushless version, the esc would do the job of current sensing, pwm switching and braking as well. Would have been much less effort to do?
Please note that not every ESC has a current limiting and brake feature. And including a $4 current sensor is almost effortless as you can see in the video.
Amazing how this simple motor is capable of pulling this weight!
Beste Joop,
Arduino sketches you provided contains Relay for breaking and I want to use pwm for breaking. I'm new to Arduino so can u guide me how to use pwm for breaking.
Also What if I use BLDC and use same Arduino sketches?
can you recommend a bluetooth pairing video you used to automatically pair bluetooth.
Hey, I have a 24v 800ish DC motor from a power drill with actual replaceable carbon brushes. I can't find the specs all over the web. Do you think that will be enought to make me who weights 70kg moving at a faster speed than yours? Thanks!
I wonder, how is it that you rectifier diode does not burn, I use ss34 schottky, that should be better (Vf~0.5v) but it burns
awesome! thanks for the tutorial!
and what if i use direct supply but in a special sequence....i.e starts from 3.7 volts and then increase it manually upto 24 volts step by step..
great video! keep it up!
Why didn't you use the build in PWM from a digital output?..
Using truck as heat sink is genius!
would a gearbox be better for the motor and for torque? ok speed decreases damaticly but that may be fine.
Indeed, it needs a gearbox, drill motors need high Rpm to put out the most power
can u make subtitles plz??
and thanks for awesome videos
Will brushed DC 775 with 12 V LIPO supply work for 50kg like this DIY skateboard ?
hello, what's the type of the motor, rpm??? volts?
how much weight can it hold at what speed
can a rs brushed 12 volt motor will work?
do you have a python code? I would use a microbit but i dont know how i can code it for the controller
How much ampar it requires to move weight of 80 kgs
I have a question, do you think it would be possible to make the breaking mechanism work in a way that would charge the batteries? Because the batteries would present a load to the motor and that would slow him down?
You have to boost the voltage to charge the batteries. That would take some electronics to accomplice.
My DIY Electric Skateboard has a Dual Belt drive System and it will have a 10s5p Battery and ESC with remote and charger kit.
I am an electronics engineer, believe me this guy is taking electronics for fun, Brilliant !!
Where did you purchase the current sensor and drive belt? Great video series!
I just added the links for the drive belt and the current sensor to my website: www.brokking.net/longboard_main.html
Thank you. If you don't mind, I made a list of the 4 part video series for my own use on my channel. Your instruction is the bench mark for all other e-board videos that I am finding. I have already referred to your channel to guy who cooked his motor, but wasn't sure why. I look forward to your brushless motor design.
Where's the two motors version?
Hello, Im Building my Skate but I am using a Brushless motor and Im afraid of it dont have power to run with me, It is 22.2volts and 1500w, My Weight is 55kg, can you help me?
doyo give me mechanical circuit?
Try a brushless system! It's much more efficient and powerful. If you don't want THAT SPEED, just change your arduino code to limit the throttle.
RC 44 ↑↑↑↑
Definitely more efficient, but less simple and more expensive.
It's definitely more of an upgrade than a necessity.
I agree. In my country it costs $700 to order the cheapest brushless system for a skateboard. But it would be cool to control a brushless skateboard with arduino in the future.
RC 44 I got both, a 1700W Keda brushless motor and a suitable speed controller from hobbyking for around $100 total.
wow!
It's awesome explain 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍
Ive blown four RFP50N06, mine is the same as your schematic. what I'm I doing wrong? please help it's been over a month trying to build this. are there any stronger mosfet that will work with the arduino??
The RFP50N06 can handle 50A. So it's sufficient. Did you mount the Diode? And make sure that the RFP50N06 is cooled.
thank you for the reply Joop Brokking yes added the same 1N54O4 diode. dose the pull down also needed grounded as well as pin 6. my motor started to spin slowly when I connected the battery then the mosfet shorts and dies.
www.anwb.nl/fietsen/elektrische-fietsen/wetgeving-en-regels/wetgeving-en-regels
Is the motor 775 or 895??
And im a new subscriber
What is the name of the motor..?
Why dont you did your remote controller with an Nunchuk and a Esp8266?
Because I like to build stuff in stead of buying it.
You said that by decreasing the number of teeth on your motor pulley (20?-15 or something like that) while getting higher RPM, you don't get increased torque? You said that it increases torque, but I'm pretty sure it's the other way around? :-)
^ omg why would anybody want to do that? Shit feature hahaha
i am a noobie ..... i dont know how a high mah and low mah battery effects on a motor .. can somebody plz tell me about it..
I have an Arduino Uno rev3 on hand, but I was wondering if I need the USB to serial adapter to program the Arduino Pro Minis used in this project?
If you use the Pro mini you need a adapter to upload the programs.
Thank you!
You can use your uno as a programmer
"And some other parts like a power switch, 330Ω resistors, 10k potentiometer, LED's, AA-battery etc etc"
Joop I would love to see a full list of specs! Im really not that good with electronics, and im willing to learn a lot. But assuming that I know what "other parts you have" isnt in my skill set. Could you make the list on your website complete?
I made a complete schematic that you can download from my website. Combined with the links on my website you can get a full parts list.
Good job :-)
Is it important that the battery has 20c? Will the 40c also work?
Anything over 20C will work fine. So yes, 40C will do.
Thx
What is the RPM of the motor?
Will you please give me the schematic of board cause I want to make one even much powerful than this with a brushed motor
Check: www.brokking.net/longboard_main.html
Joop Brokking thanks
Joop Brokking,i have seen many different RPM types of that same motor like yours(5600-18000RPM)so what RPM should I choose?thank you
The one that delivers it's maximum torque at the desired speed. It also depends on you belt reduction.
thanks but there is no data regarding torque on these motor
Then it's just trail and error.
Motor DC 775 ?
HI, i love your videous and i would like to now witch of thes batery wod be beter for that motor?

Since I know nothing about Bluetooth wireless, are there specifics about the HC-05 wireless bluetooth serial pass- through module that led you to choose this device over others?
Bluetooth protocal: Bluetooth Specification v2.0+EDR
Frequency: 2.4GHz ISM band
Modulation: GFSK(Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying)
Emission power: ≤4dBm, Class 2
Sensitivity: ≤-84dBm at 0.1% BER
Speed: Asynchronous: 2.1Mbps(Max) / 160 kbps, Synchronous: 1Mbps/1Mbps
Security: Authentication and encryption
Profiles: Bluetooth serial port
The HC-05 is what I had laying around. You can also use two of these:
www.dx.com/p/2-4g-wireless-serial-transparent-transceiver-module-for-arduino-441995
Thank you! The light came on after reading a user guide on the HC-05.
It seems like you could make up a metal spacer plate to go between the motor & wood, to allow the motor to suck air properly. The air-holes to be removed from the plate are small.
ie: imgur.com/a/5RAQP
If worried about the shape cutting into the wood, then a second plate (with no air-breathing cutouts) can be put between this plate and the wood.
That is indeed a nice solution. I will keep that in mind!
nice work , it flies with the child on it !
And Other Thing, Can I do my Motor Mount with wood? Wich type of wood?
Canal Carmedon Joop's motor mount is made from wood.Watch the previous videos(part 3) and you will see how and what wood he's using.
Fanis Gourlemakis Yeah Man, I saw it after the comment, it is Comp wood, and I'm asking because my motor is Brushless and Im afraid of Wood don't support it
superbb
will a 12v 1000 rpm motor work with the electric longboard?
Fawks how many Kv is it or how many watts
Check the link on my website: www.brokking.net/longboard_main.html
we want to see a brushless on it like if you agree
muito bom
I make it without using arduino, i use 12 volt dc voltage directly
have you tried 2 motors ?
I was thinking the same
¡Amazing!
does the motor run at 8A?
Yes, approximately 8A.
ty
Hahahhaa geniaal die kleine vloog weg
Hi guy,
looks really great!
Our company have some products.
Hope you could help us test it.
Could you please reply the PM?
Thanks!
Good Father what I can see
Zij zijn nederlands
ik zie een GAMMA, ben je Nederlands?
Ja :-)
i'd never want a belt driven electric skateboard, no way hosay.
Anthony Steele unless you want an overkill clumsy and heavy bike chain, you don't really have any other options
Hub motorssss
Hello, thanks for beautiful job. I have some questions maybe you could help me. Could you send me your email? Or how could I write you?
sorry hoor, maar jou stem is echt vervelend...
wel is het een heel leuk board
