Caleb Williams needs development. Him going to the Bears would not be a good fit for those narratives.
remember, tomlin has to go to a team with a system that already stout. Asking him to hire competent coordinators is not his strong suit. Never was. Yeah, you get his record, but you will NOT get his "success". The most amount of success he had was earlier in his career. THATS IT.
@@21Kolb if you sit back and look at the teams he’s had to work with. You wouldn’t be complaining. The Steelers would be on the same level as Jacksonville by now if Tomlin wasn’t there. The Steelers aren’t a very talented team overall.
People bragging about Tomlin can only do this because the Steelers don’t fire coaches very often. If he were with another team he would have been fired a long time ago. People are resting their heads on: 1) His success from almost 10 to 20 years ago ie getting passed the first round. 2) He goes to the playoffs every year. Tomlin aint going nowhere. But as a Pittsburgher and a life time fan. We are definitely fed up with the average play. Having a winning record isnt enough. Time to win in the playoffs.
This is why I stopped watching ESPN. The tone of sports talk is always negative. Sports talk should be fun and spirted. Everything is fire that person, trade or release, they advocate to ban players or to have them suspended. All negative.
If we could trade Tomlin for the first overall pick to the Titans I'd jump on that. Ben Johnson would take the Head Coach job in a heartbeat if we had a QB prospect.
Tomlin doesn’t know how to “close the deal”. His only real post season success was when he inherited the HOF team that Cowher built, and I could’ve coached that group to a SB win.
These media personalities acting impervious to the notion that Steeler Nation wants Tomlin gone must be some sort of shtick designed to boost ratings for when Tomlin's departure actually happens. Steeler fans are not spoiled or entitled. We watched Bill Belichik go 18 years without a losing season, coaching multiple KINDS of teams mind you. He has 6 rings and 9 Super Bowl appearances to show for it. Mike Tomlin, on the other hand, has overachieved with bad rosters but severely underachieved with good ones. The one constant is that he WON'T change his philosophy or get with times.
How come nobody talks about how they bring their AAA game against the 2 time champs like that's their rival they have been scheming for the past 2 years on how to beat them and that is a goal. Every great team everyone tries there hardest to beat and prepare even harder
I understand teams want Tomlin. I can’t imagine a world where they let him go. If a coach gives you winning seasons every single season, maybe it’s the GM that needs sacking.
I been with them since there Second Rooney Rain...and they will not do this. They actually signed Tomlin to a 3 year contract this year. Which is actually very smart on their behalf because now this gives them because now this gives them 3 years to find their next head coach that will be with the organization for the next two generations to come. This also giving them and their organization three more shots at a championship with for a relatively good cost. I believe we will see a little more money spent this year by the organization leading into the next season because they will have it in the budget to do so. This season was actually a good season for them because they got to the wild card with a "Uncertain Team". So many starters with only 1-2 year contracts and mediocre talent. Let's get this straight. This is Click Bait. This is NOT how the Steelers operate. To replace Tomlin means the Steelers organization believes they have someone (in their price range) who can & will outperform Tomlin. It also means the Steelers are willing to let Tomlin go wherein a motivated Tomlin could sign with anybody even a division rival & eventually make the organization & fans suffer for their betrayal. Expecting more out of Tomlin isn't the issue, expecting the Steelers organization to finally get Tomlin a shot with a talented roster is of issue! Not missing on multiple years of 1st Rd picks is of issue... Not over paying for yesterday's heros is of issue. Signing talented FAs at a competitive price who can fit into the organization is of issue. Finally, signing assistant coaches who can successfully run their side of the ball is of issue. If the Steelers can accomplish this & still fail then we'll talk about moving on from Tomlin but at this point shooting yourself in the foot isn't going to bring a championship back to Pittsburgh a city who has no patience for a complete rebuild.
This coming from the team that just got rid of the coach that beat Tomlin every time he saw him .....even with a guy named Zappe.....and if I remember right the Patriots also passed on Marino to and had it not before Bill Bellichick you would have never won a ring ....as it was Bill and only Bill that thought enough of Brady to even invest a draft pick .....the Steelers was a great organization way before Tomlin was a thought....as a matter a fact no one even knew him until he got to Pittsburgh
Tomlin does nothing to improve the coaching staff look at his coaching tree. NOTHING! Tomlin doesn’t hire anyone who he can’t control or scared that they will take his job
Kimberly, you don't understand because you don't understand Steelers fans or their expectations for the franchise. Those expectations are to win 9 or 10bgames and then get kicked out of the playoffs in the first round. A winning season isn't just Mike Tomlin not having more L's than W's at th6end of the year. Over the last 4-5 years Steelers fans have watched Tomlin hite offensive coordinators (because they were his friends and loyal to him) that couldn't wven win in college and stick with them even though it was obvious they were detrimental to the team. They've watched O-linemen who suck on the Steelers become pro bowlers elsewhere. Clearly, the coaching, whether it's assistant, head coach or both isn't up to par. Maybe the answer is to leave him as the figurehead but take all hiring responsibilities from him but something has to change. Steelers fans want a 7th Lombardi and as Mike T is right now, he's not going to get it for them!
Good HC are hard to come by. And it takes time to develop culture. Do we need a change in Pittsburgh? Yes. Are we willing to tank several seasons until a new HC get adjusted? NO.
Even the national news media is starting to understand the massive disparity between how they view Tomlin and how Steeler Nation views Tomlin. We are truly over the same ole same ole. His "winning record" has kept us in QB Purgatory ever since Big Ben left. We are just enough to keep us from getting a high draft pick but not good enough to win anything meaningful (ie a single playoff game). Something significant is going to need to change to break the cycle of insanity in the Steel city. Anything short of beating the Ravens this weekend would be considered an absolute failure and massive end of year collapse. No matter what happens though we know that Art Rooney is not trading Mike Tomlin.
This is the story every year for some reason on ESPN for the last 5 years has been a story it's so crazy that the media is so used to black coaches getting fired that one white coaches have a bad season they don't lose they job look at Miami you would think they coach should be fired after the last 2 seasons of seeing a star quarterback catch concussions but no one brings him up no one brings up the Jacksonville Jaguars coach no one brings up a lot of coaches that's all white and who are failing on good teams look at the San Francisco 49 ERS went to the Super Bowl multiple times same coach team failed but somehow mike t it is always the topic when it comes to football when it comes to coaches every season is repetitive and weird
The race baiting is wild😂. How can you justify firing a coach after his qb gets hurt in Miami? Doug Pederson was literally fired a few days ago. And there's no justification to fire Shanahan when he's been to multiple Super Bowls in the past few years, including the one last year. Based on your logic, every coach that loses a Super Bowl deserves to be fired despite being the second best team.
You are all sorts of dumb for thinking race has anything to do with this. Mike McCarthy is talked about a whole lot more, the difference being people value tomlin higher, which is the opposite of your race nonsense. He hasn’t won championship football. That is performance. Stop expecting DEI treatment for nfl coaches.

@@jtfike not demanding someone is fired. We need to make changes quickly before they get fired. I love mike tomlin but when we play this way he's the first one people look at because weve been at a stand still for 7 years with different rosters
It's wild to me man. Tomlin didn't do anything with the Killer Bs and yet people want him to stay. It's wild to me 😂
Tomlin overachieves every year. We haven’t a good roster in nearly a decade. Fire Mike T and we will have a top 10 draft pick for the next few years
I’m sorry, but as a Panthers fan, I’d rather have all of those winning seasons then what we have now, so yeah. I’d say be grateful. So what, about YOUR standards.
Who is the Steeler's GM and why do we never hear about him and how he constructed this offense?
Ohmar Kahn is in his Second year as GM so most of the pieces he did not acquire. Kevin Kolbert was the previous GM. The crucial thing is the GM plays some part in Player acquisitions, but Tomlin is the one that evaluates and initiates these acquisitions. He constructs this team the way he wants and the GM does his best to make the number work on the back end.
Our current GM did not construct this offense and this is only his 2nd draft. This year our picks #1 #3 #7 & #7 picks all on IR before the season or by game 4 so we will see after 2025 draft plus getting back players from 2024 draft
These fans that are "over it" with Tomlin don't pay attention to how the Steelers do business. He's not going anywhere & if he is it'd be a shocker. They need to draft & trade to improve their defense & get more weapons on offense. Pickens being hurt, Wilson being inconsistent & turnover prone, and Harris being inconsistent as well, outside of those 3 & Freiermuth, what do they have? Lol
For 2 seconds. Half the league would die to go one and done.
Agreed. There are so many terrible organizations in the NFL with horrible owners.
Arguing that the Steelers haven’t been favored in the playoffs and therefore them not winning a playoff game in 8 years is justified…..
I think of than meme of the kid riding his bike and at the same time tossing a stick in the spokes , that what getting rid of coach Tomlin would be like my fellow Steelers fans .
Chuck Knoll was here 23 years then he was gone. Bill Cowher was here 15 years then he was gone. Tomlin has been here 18 years why do people act like he can't be replaced?
@ not saying he can’t be released just not seeing why .
@@scottbrooks711 Same reason as Knoll he went 10 years without a playoff win and he had multiple seasons with an unimaginative plodding offense.
Media doesn’t have anything to talk about so hey let’s stretch this for 4 more days…
Unfortunately Pittsburgh probably stuck with Tomlin until he decides to quit or retire
Do they understand how hard is to win in the nfl let alone having a continuous winnig season
Do you understand how pointless it is to have a mediocre winning season every year with no sign of progress in a decade?
They're spoiled and think it's easy. Not that bright.
@@MegaShawm 25% of Steelers opponents are the Browns and Bengals. It’s not that impressive to never have a losing season in those circumstances.
The Falcons should give Tomlin a call. Morris aint it
Ty Hill to the Cowboys ….he’s going to be fuhhhhhh’d 😂😂
It's not Mike Tomlin. the NFL is a quarterback driven League. you cannot compete at the highest levels without a elite quarterback.
@@darealshmk19 Tomlin is the one who pounded the table for Kenny Pickett. He doesn’t deserve a pass for that failure
HE HAD BEN FOR YEARS AND DID NOTHING!
If the bears offered the Steelers 3 first round picks and two second round pics, as a Steelers fan I would do it
I like how every year for the past 5 years we have the same conversation around Mike Tomlin on every news station and hear the same excuses/defenses for him. The definition of insanity is repeating something over and over with the same outcome expecting it to change.
The fact that this is even a conversation before they've been eliminated clearly shows that everybody already know what's about to happen.
@@knowledgeseeker1528 So I made my mind up after seeing the lions vs the vikings games. Seeing that game then watching the steelers lose to the Bengals. Its wild to think that those 4 teams are in the same league and it's even crazier to see the steelers in the playoffs with those 2 teams. Oh fun fact. The lions defense looks better than the steelers and they are on their 3rd string line up and the steelers have the highest paid defense in the league. Welcome to your defensive minded coach guys.
What if the Steelers make a run? What are these people gonna say then? The Steelers can beat the Ravens and Match up well with Bills and chiefs. Steelers are healthier now than they were. Win turnover battle.
@@albertsantiago4673 Stop with the delusional thinking. This isn't the 2005 Steelers with Cowher. The whole game has changed. Also Tomlin doesn't adjust well either. The Ravens are clearly the better team and the Steelers need to be done to get changed in the organization.
The takes on Tomlin are just so mind blowing. So absolutely mind blowing. No coach in the history of the world have I ever seen pundits act like this with. It’s really bizarre.
Officially Chuck Knoll retired but he was well on his way to being fired because he hadn't won a playoff game in years and his offence was plodding and predictable. Does that help you?
@@Paul-vf2wl Chuck Noll. The 80s are generally called the worst decade for the Steelers. Coach Noll's last year was 1991. His last playoff win was 1989 and his last AFC championship game was 1984. His last 10 years he had 2 playoff wins. Coach Tomlin's last 10 years is 3 playoff wins with his last being EIGHT years ago. Fans of Tomlin love to point to how good we are, but the Steelers are one of seven teams to not have a playoff win in the past 8 years.
@@mblythe21 Chuck Noll never went 5 seasons without a playoff win. Bill Cowher never went 4 seasons without a playoff win. Tomlin is at 8 and counting. A once proud franchise is now the biggest laughing stock in the league.
Can't be the biggest laughing stock in the league when the Giants, Jets, Texas, and Jags exist. Stop being overdramatic.
@ The fact that you just put those teams in the same sentence as the Steelers just shows how far they have fallen. Also all those teams except for the Jets have won playoff games more recently than the Steelers. With a win on Saturday the Texans (who you said people laugh at) would have won 6 playoff games in the last 14 years. That is doubled the amount the Steelers have won in the last 14 years. The Steelers are a big time laughing stock now. It’s sad.
Caleb Williams needs development. One of the main criticisms OTHER Steelers fans (not me, I'm a lifelong Steelers fan and I am glad Mike T is our coach) have of Coach T is that he doesn't develop QBs, and he won a Superbowl with Cowher's team. Him going to the Bears would not be a good fit for those narratives.
There are teams that would fire their HC to get Mike Tomlin. As a Steelers fan, I wouldn’t trade him for anything
Same here
id get rid of him.
remember, tomlin has to go to a team with a system that already stout.
He took a team led by duck hodges, Mitch trubusky, & Kenny Pickett to winning seasons. He needs to win in the playoffs no doubt, but coaching can only go as far as the talent. The Steelers aren’t a very talented team overall.
Mike Tomlin, everybody, he's never had a losing season! Wow! Incredible!
@@jefftracy3771 Playing the Browns and Bengals 25% of the time makes never having a losing season to not be an accomplishment.
People bragging about Tomlin can only do this because the Steelers don’t fire coaches very often. If he were with another team he would have been fired a long time ago. People are resting their heads on:
1) His success from almost 10 to 20 years ago ie getting passed the first round.
2) He goes to the playoffs every year.
They haven’t made it past the first round in almost 10 years. Their last AFC Championship was 2010
But... Why would you want Tomlin gone? Hasn't he been giving Steelers a winning season? And they still make it to postseason. It wouldn't make sense to throw that all away for a coach who may or may not do as well as he does
Spoiled fans
Just a fresh start for both, he’s never had a losing season but hasn’t won a playoff game since like 2017 it’s a tough spot to be in frfr lol
We don’t care about going 9-7 every year and being one and done
It’s the same notion as McCarthy, he will give you good regular seasons but making the playoffs doesn’t really matter if you get bounced in the first round every year.
because bro thats not enough 😂 the man gets boat raced in the playoffs every year but yayyy no losing seasons🔥🔥
The asking price sould be a half a bag of skittles and a kickstand for a huffy bike .....i could really use that kickstand 😅
They just need to fill time. Next they'll talk about Bill leaving NC and coaching the Raiders.
The thought of getting rid of Tomlin is insane to me.
The last time the Steelers were this bad for this long was in the 1960s. Tomlin’s failures are reaching historic levels
@bilba5406 soo elaborate on “bad” and “historic failures”?
@@speedkingjr07 8 years without a playoff win. Last time the Steelers went 5 years without a playoff win (let alone 8) was in the 1960s. A once proud franchise has turned into the biggest laughing stock in the league under Tomlin.
Baby when I come home I want my dinner on the table, “celebrated not tolerated” 😂
Should have been gone the OC too why don't you use the tight ends more on 1st downs
Six coaches in the league with Superbowl wins Tomlin, Reid, McVay, McCarthy, Harbaugh, and Payton. Maybe 7 with Peterson. Only Reid and McVay have won them in the last decade. Steelers have always been the organization to make the smart unpopular choice.
We don’t want Mike gone we need better personnel
Teams can call Pitt about Tomlin, but that doesn't mean they will listen or even consider it.
Raiders fan here.... pleeeease come to the Raiders. We need you Mike Tomlin.
The front Offense of line is small, weak and have low awareness do to lack of experience on that level, and it shows every week. They get blown off the ball every snap. And our defensive secondary can't play man coverage while our Strong Safety"Fitzatrick" only have one responsibility that he can't seem to take care of and that's to not let anything pass him. Smh. Fkn pathetic and weak he is.
And our Incompetent Offensive Coordinator "Arthur Smith" should consider taking up a 2nd Division College Team Offensive Coordinator Job because he ain't worth watching on the ""Professional Level"" it's fkn sad and depressing and its been painful watching my ""Steele Curtain Steelers" my ""Blitzburg Steelers" my always Ranked in the top 5 Defenses, Steelers.....I'm sick of watching this team. I wish "Bill Cowher" will come back home to us again 😢......
I would even take "Pete Carroll".....
PLEASE MR. ROONEY THE 2ND ‼️
We Steelers Fans are hurting and can't stand the site of this ""Program/Organization "" that you have tried to transition this Football Team into these past 15 years. We are sorry but we need (Your Dad's Pittsburgh Steelers) back but a more evolved and better version that will stand as Our Next Era............
😙😙😙😙 Not going to say nothing @ Kim!
🤣💯👀
Every offseason these people feel the need to keep constantly playing with Mike Tomlin’s name.
The Steelers won’t trade Tomlin, but they should. His style of coaching is worn out in Pittsburgh.
As a Patriots fan, this would be the dumbest move the Steelers would make worse than passing on Dan Marino in the 1983 draft.
She doesn’t know what she is talking about because Pitt loves Mike T
Not true lol
@ fire or trade Mike T and then come the 4-13 or 6 and whatever for like 10 years
Tomlin does nothing to improve the coaching staff look at his coaching tree.
NO.
I'd love him in Dallas. We will even throw-in Dak and a 6-pack of Pepsi Cola.
Kmart was correct in her response. Shocked is more startled than surprised which is taken aback
Once again isn't that the same difference
Why would u trade a coach instead of simply firing him
I’m tired of the “New Voice” argument. Most teams don’t have a majority of players on the team for 5+ years with free agency the way it is.
What’s to stop Tomlinson from retiring AFTER being traded?
He has a bo trade clause so I only see him leaving if he wants or his contract is up
Trade him ASAP and after they trade him, we would have a parade in the city of Pittsburgh. Telling the organization, thank you!!
He coming to New Orleans 🎉💪🏿🏁 @miketomlin come on home

💯
The race baiting is wild😂. How can you justify firing a coach after his qb gets hurt in Miami? Doug Pederson was literally fired a few days ago. And there's no justification to fire Shanahan when he's been to multiple Super Bowls in the past few years, including the one last year. Based on your logic, every coach that loses a Super Bowl deserves to be fired despite being the second best team.
@@rikerfrost7667 Nah bro. As a Miami fan, McDaniels should be fired. We can’t beat teams over .500 to save our life, even with a healthy team.
