This is brilliant stuff.. as a 52 year old, lifelong Spitfire & WW2 warbirds fan.. having this sort of recorded access is so good! I had the chance to sit in the cockpits of Spitfire MkI N3200 & Hurricane (2 seat) BE505 last year at Duxford air museum.. I was in my element, as happy as can be! 🥰😂 Is there an IAS that you all agree on prior to the flight…given the different performance numbers of each aircraft? Is it better to fly to the Hurricanes speed, rather than working the Hurricanes Merlin to keep pace with the Spit & Mustang? Awesome video 🔥👏🏼
Yes, it took a few training flights to get a speed target for the Hurricane that we were all happy with. And if you make the slowest aircraft "Lead", it doesn't get "sucked" for power during turns and rejoins.
Hi Dave, as whole life fan of WWII aircrafts, your videos make me happy and sometimes I´m so impressed so I was start to cry ... Because I´m ultralight pilot with some experience with formation flights I know exactly how hard it is to stay in formation with so different aircrafts... Many and many years of safe flying with all theese nice birds man ...
Similar to Wooster17 (although he has a year on me 🙂). Outstanding footage and commentary. Very insightful. Great to see these warbirds in such capable hands.
Another great video Dave. No mention about canopy back for takeoff. I have heard opinions from other pilots and exercise this practice (when Canadian temperatures permit).
Beautiful! Thanks for a fantastic flight full of information! Especially, as to why the Vic 3 formation cost a lot of lives, due to the considerable concentration required in keeping with the leader!!!! 👍👍
This is amazing. I grew up in Air Cadets and Air Force. Flying with a Snow Bird pilot who almost crashed us. Allowed me to fly without a licence. He got bored.
Excellent video Dave! Loved watching the Victory Flight perform at the Quinte show in June. I read with great dismay yesterday that Michael Potter will be selling off this collection. I was stunned to read that, hoping that these magnificent warbirds would be around for many years. Any idea when this will occur, and if he might keep one?
Always enjoyable and informative videos, Dave. I am a Canadian scale model builder. Retired from designing fabricating and building custom motorcycles. With the help of the (fellow CND) Paul H Monforton Mk.IX & XVI Engineered reference book and many of your videos especially the, Preflight/Walkaround Tour Oshkosh 2018 I was able to create more scale/ historical accurate representations of George F Beurling's MA585 KH B and Johnnie E Johnson EN398. They are 1/24 scale, posed in flight. There is disbelief and strong opinions in the model community of the practice of putty and primer filler to level up the surface on the leading, D box section of RAF Spitfire wings. There is an official WW2 training film that shows the application. The film and examples of my work are posted on my channel if interested.

Thanks for a really well produced and narrated video of a fantastic display Dave! Superb stuff!
Awesome video, Dave. I appreciate the extra detail on formation flying. I hope the paint stayed adhered with all that precip.
Thanks for the detail Dave! It's wonderful.
Excellent views, excellent narration. Thanks!
Thank you so much for posting Dave! Takes me back to Trenton and watching you fly there! Incredible memory!

Damn i love the hurricane's black and white underwing and BoB colours in general.
Magnifique, merci.

What a dull, boring job you have, Dave. But I guess *SOMEBODY* has to do it. 😆 🥸 👍👍
Thank you for sharing!!
