Managed to see the Bison in West Blean and Thornden Woods on 12th March. Very good views of them. Adults were unperturbed at the sight of humans, but calf was much more hesitant, before catching up with the adults at a gallop.
The biggest vanity project, utter BS. Thousands of meters of vegetation removed to put up the fence and the public kicked out of these woods, which they've had access to for decades. Its a glorified zoo, these bison aren't free to roam like deer, plus they've had to put horse's and cattle in the woods because the bison aren't up to the task. Plus they are now having to feed the bison through winter, so much for being on there own.
Thanks for posting this. I look forward to watching this program progress.
Fantastic stuff!!

For a healthy population of ungulates there must be some predation pressure of some sort. Are ancient wolf species next on the list?
I thought I was the only person who was curious if you could leave the carcasses in the woods.
Well, these Mega Herbivores had no sign of Natural Predators.
