Beautiful plumage and calls.
As a young boy growing up in Kern County Cal. I can still remember the very last time hearing this wonderful bird call on a fence. They all disappeared due to housing construction. Thats was 60 years ago and I have not heard this bird since. So sad...
They are still a common bird out here, fortunately, at least in certain areas like the bear river bird refuge and Antelope Island.
So sweet
Meadowlark songs are one of the most musical sounds in bird world. Nice sharing 🤗👍
Nebraska state bird, and my personal favorite of all bird songs. This is the sound of my wonderful childhood, raised on my grandparent’s Nebraska farm. There’s no other place like it.
🌻💕
I absolutely LOVE to hear the birds 🐦 🐦⬛ ❤️ ☺️
They bring such JOY 😊
Texas Nana
Psalm 91
That’s my confirmation verse/chapter
This is the state bird of Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Wyoming, and - surprisingly - Oregon!
💕💜🌾this song reminds me of pushing through the fields of golden wheat, and falling down to the ground for rest, hidden by the tall stalks, dreaming, breathing and listening to this sound…🫠🥰
The song of the Western Meadowlark is one of the most beautiful signs that spring has arrived.🎶🤗
I am now back on our farm in Saskatchewan!
The western meadowlark's beautiful song can brighten my day.
Thank you for the bird sounds. I have been wanting to match the calls with the bird pictures for years, and found nothing.
That’s great!! Sounds beautiful
Amazing 🙂
I saw and heard this bird today at work. I remember it had a yellow stomach and black lines, but I didn't take a good look at the wings. The voice was enough to confirm it. Beautiful sounds.
one of the best videos and audio yet
They're magical!!
Fantastic!! I finally found my favorite sound! Thank you so much for posting! 💯💚💙
❤ Western Meadow Lark, beautiful song, this one is really good! And no autotune c; ❤😊, memory recall of South Dakota, and Montana..the 2nd variation is the one i heard the most ❤
Very nice and relaxing!
Springtime in Northern Utah...
Delightful
Agreed! 👌
Very nice -> the bird and the voice. Thank you for sharing.☆☆☆♡♡♡
Oh my gosh, thats pretty
Such a lovely voice and a welcome song for Spring. Thank you! Best regards, Thomas
I have pooped hear me sing!
I live in Western Montana, we have several meadowlarks show up every year. I’m expecting them to show up any day now. They definitely tell me when spring has sprung.
We have them year round but sometimes they are hard to find during winter.
one of the sweetest sounds in nature
**drops a poo**
Leaves a mark. 😁
I don't see these in my area anymore i remember early mornings they would line the fence and sing
Nice! Super video!
The Western meadowlark is one of favorite bird calls here in New Mexico.
Another striking song is completely different that I heard yesterday in central Kansas at the Quivira NWR was the Bell's vireo. I never saw it cuz it stays hidden in brush usually. Best to see them early morning probably.
I used to see them every where here in Valencia county Tomé area i haven't seen one for years
@@battlefor1billiondollars They are fairly common at the Valle de Oro in the South Valley, Albuquerque. And also Bosque del Apache. Meadowlarks like open grasslands.
I just saw a bird poop on camera! what are the raised feathers above the base of its tail called? Reminds me of a tail pipe.
Opportunity comes on both sides and meet you
Very nice video, beautiful the little bird and its song!! 😍

This is what a Tall white sounds like. IFYNYN
Hey, this one's song is rather different from the ones in Colorado!
Really? How much of a difference?
@@BearRiverBlogger Let me link a Western meadowlark song. This is what we hear in Colorado/Kansas:

This is apparently the Montana version:

@@BearRiverBlogger I noticed a difference too. The meadowlarks here in New Mexico usually do the second song on this video. I had never heard them do the first couple songs here.
IT IS PERFECT DESIGN OF GOD ONLY
Anyone have any tips for attracting these birds? They’re known for eating a pests’ eggs (Mormon crickets)around here so I want to put up houses or watering point to attract them to my farm. I know they generally like ground level watering points but they lay their eggs on the ground, so a bird house won’t work, I don’t think…
They are ground nester that like open areas with short sparse grasses. I've never seen any come to bird feeders so I'm not sure how easy they would be to attract.
I've read that if they do visit bird feeders the food needs to be cracked corn and on a flat open platform near an open field and away from humans. Since they like sitting on fence posts, barb wire and electric lines, perhaps a flat feeder on a high fence post would work ...
