  • We ride the 2023 Vespa GTS 300! The historic Italian marquee has released many updates to its large-displacement offering, bringing several visual updates, a new trailing-link front suspension, and Euro 5 compliance.
This year, the four-trim GTS 300 lineup includes the GTS 300 ($7799), GTS 300 Super ($7999), GTS 300 SuperSport ($8099), and GTS 300 SuperTech ($8499). Mechanically, these Italian scooters are all identical and are separated by various color or finish options. However, the top-tier SuperTech option comes with a full-color TFT display and a carpeted storage compartment featuring an LED light.
Arguably, the most significant mechanical change is with the trailing-link front suspension, which has added an additional support pull-rod. The result is a scooter with a stouter front end, capable of soaking up cobblestones and rough pavement while also improving front-end confidence.
Powering the GTS 300 family is the same peppy 278cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine featuring a user-friendly automatic CVT transmission - twist the grip and go! There's plenty of passing power in traffic-packed urban centers, where its roughly 24 horsepower, and 19 ft-lbs of torque will put up 70 mph on the speedometer without an issue.
The 2023 Vespa GTS 300 remains true to its roots as a practical people mover, upholding the traditions of maneuverability and ease of use. Its low center of gravity means it's highly agile, and a broad steering sweep allows riders to quickly navigate tight spaces.
Senior Editor Nic de Sena took to the ancient streets of Rome, putting the Vespa GTS 300 through its paces in the congested urban traffic, but also set the Grand Touring Sport aspect to the test near Lake Bracciano, Italy. The verdict? All these changes stack up to an even more capable scooter from the legendary Italian firm.

Has Vespa cured the front end wobble above 50mph?

      Hey @GTBerg,
We didn't experience anything like that on the 2023 GTS 300. That said, scooter wheels are typically much smaller in diameter than that of your average motorcycle and, due to that, typically don't have the same stability as a 17-inch wheeled bike.

    "Ton" of changes?

      Hey Tom Cat,
2023 brought quite a few refinements to the Vespa GTS 300, with numerous visual updates, trim options, new instrument panels, a new fork, revised rear shock damping, new master cylinders and lever positionings, a new seat shape, "keyless" ignition, a bike finder function, and more. In other words, a ton of smaller updates.
      Take care,
      - Nic

    Who owns this company OPEC?
Vespa could have been a contender but now they deserve to be left behind.
Boo dirty gas vehicles! Shame on you Vespa.
