This is the easiest tutorial to follow. My mom loved the beanie I made her and asked me to make a few more for her friends. Somewhere along the way though I stitched 61 instead of 60 double crochets and I couldn't figure it out.

You are the best!! I really love that you included the first few rounds in each video. It would have been easier to link back to a different video, instead of doing the extra editing. It helps TONS to have consistent instruction instead of having to switch between tabs! A lot of needle artists make that mistake, and end up confusing people. Keep being awesome!

I have a question though; mine has turned out larger than yours even though I've used the same hook size and yarn size. Wondering if it could be that my yarn isn't acrylic, I've used an organic cotton. Thanks for any help.

What I mean is that some of the rows have a hole there where I joined. (I made sure to count the stitches each time too.) Do you have any suggestions for how to make the seam more "seamless"?

For a more seamless finish you could skip slip stitching into the chain and slip stitch into the first stitch instead, then just work your stitches as normal into the same first stitch, although I haven't tested this method so let me know how you get on!

Aww thank you so much for your kind feedback! Chunky yarn is the same as bulky yarn but don't confuse it with super chunky or super bulky yarn which is thicker. Chunky yarn has a yarn weight of 5 so look for a yarn that has a black and white yarn symbol on it that has the number 5 in it, this page has very useful information on yarn weights: www.craftyarncouncil.com/top10qa.html happy crocheting!

I've really enjoyed making this hat, thank you for the video. I made two of these. The first was the adult man/woman size and the second was for the small adult / teen size. But both of the hats turned out to be really large, way too big for my head. I followed all the stitches and counted out the rows on each one. Do you have any idea why my hats are turning out to be way too big?
I did it with a 4mm hook and it still went well. Does it matter what hook size you use? I also did my last row as a double crochet front post stitch and it looked great

My hat seems to be bigger too. Going down a hook size next time. Using a 4ply yarn.

You can also crochet into the slip stitch, and then crochet into the first stitch so that you don't have to crochet into the first stitch every time.

I used a 4.5mm hook and it is perfect!!😜😜😜

blapper if you use a smaller hook the hat will be smaller but as long as it’s big enough it doesn’t matter

DAN63RZ0N35 No need to tie a knot, just cut your yarn and pull the end through to secure, then weave in your ends, that should be secure enough. :)
