Oh, gosh! I wish I could come to that Pen Show. I have wanted an Esterbrook (Copper) for a very long time. But I've never had a vintage pen, and they intimate me. I have read horror stories about trying to replace bladders. I know I could get a fully restored one. But my apprehension remains. Good "seeing" you again!
I totally get it. I avoided lever fillers for a long time because I thought it would require a professional to service one. When I learned that it was common for people to replace the sacs in their own pens, like you, I was intimidated. Then one day I found a very simple lever fill fountain pen in an antique shop for $5 and thought "What have I got to lose?" I replaced the sac and it worked! That gave me the confidence to go back to the antique shop and get an Esterbrook. Lo and behold, Esterbrooks are pretty easy to restore too.
I didn’t know before this video that Appelboom’s Boston location closed. I had always wanted to visit it and now it’s too late. Darn! Well, I enjoyed your video and I hope you have an amazing time at the pen show!
Thanks, Sarah! I know, I was disappointed to hear about Appelboom, too! They closed shortly after Christmas. Maybe my sister and I can make the pen show an annual tradition. 😀
@@gadgetstop321 I have only been to the Commonwealth Pen show in MA (it’s quite a small show). I’d like to go to some others just to see the people, and maybe get a pen tuned, but I don’t travel much.
That Pilot Stargazer will bring joy to someone at that pen show. I recall you had fond memories of using it in your teaching career, sad it was not one of your keepsakes.
The Stargazer will be a difficult one to part with. I love the way it writes, it's beautiful, but I find myself using the pens that I've decided to keep so often that all my other pens go months (or years without use). I have sentimental memories of most of my pens, but it makes me happy to think that someone else will be able to enjoy them also and make their own memories. 😀
Very nice pen collection indeed. I have collected pens too and I 'll just bet that very few people own a "Space Pen". Yes, a space pen, one that the astronauts use to be able to write upside down. When you write upside down with a regular pen in just a few seconds it quits allowing ink to come out.
Thanks, Dave! All is well here and yes, the CH 92 is a great pen. This is why I think pen shops and shows are so important. If I could have gotten my hands on both of these pens and compared them before buying, I would have chosen the 92 over the 72 to begin with. 😀
Cathy, I wish i could attend to the pen show to buy some of your pens! Your reviews helped me a lot. My hands are the same size of yours (I guess!) and I love the Japaneses F and EF nibs too. My newest pen is the Pilot Prera. I am loving it!
I hope so. I've tried to give myself enough time to see if this is just a faze I'm going through. I've been content with rotating through the same 5 pens for months now, so I don't think it's a faze. If I'm able to really thin out my collection, I'll consider picking up a new pen at the show...maybe something from Pilot or a small maker. But if not, I'll take the pens I have left home and enjoy them. I'm kind of weird like that - I get overwhelmed when there are too many choices. It's nice talking pens with you again Ichiro. 😀
Wow! You've got a lot of money for this stuff. How much have you invested in your pen collection? How do you explain this obsession for pens? The only pen you needed in your collection until the other 500 arrived 😂
please keep your Pilot78g+ w EF nib just in case you do any more ink reviews: that’s the nib that’s relevant to me with my small handwriting:); think there are at least twenty inks that are just right for me which I wouldn’t want to be without so my fp collection will never shrink to fewer pens than that but everybody’s different:)
I may keep the Kakuno EF instead. The Kakuno and 78g EF nibs are nearly indistinguishable. The 78g might be easier to sell since they are more difficult to get these days. 😀
OMG! I am so glad to see you posting again! We've missed you! Hopefully, we will see your content again real soon 😊
Thank you, R! I'm going to try to get back on a regular posting schedule. 😀
glad you are back !!!
Thank you! It's nice to be back. 😀
What an exciting life! Your are going to have a stand at a pen show! Wish I could go!
Thank you! I wish you could go too! Maybe you'll get to one of these days. This is going to be my first pen show.

Have fun at the show! I wish I could be there to meet you and see your collection in person.
Thank you, Susan! My sister and I are so excited. 😀

Cool pens
Thank you, 🦈! 😀
Wow Cathy! You and your sister are going to have a great time at the pen show. I wish I could come see you. I'm looking forward to the videos.
Thanks, Courtney! We've been trying to arrange a trip like this for years. I'll try to take plenty of pictures and videos. 😀
@@gadgetstop321 I can't wait to hear all about it ☺️

I've always wanted to try a space pen. I'm curious how the pressurized ink feels compared to regular ballpoint ink. 😀
Glad to hear that you're still loving the CH 92! Hope you weren't impacted by the recent severe weather! Enjoy the show ... cheers!

Subscribed, thumbs way up, and glad to see your new post.
Thank you so much, Goldilocks! 😀

Thank you, Fabio! I'm glad I could be of some help. The Prera is such a great pen. 😀
Sounds like you are doing a major pen purge. You are my hero. Ever since I decided 24 pens would be my limit, I have been hovering around 50.

I hope to meet you at the show! I’m planning on being there too on Friday and Saturday. 😊
Hi Gail! Absolutely, it would be great to meet you in person. I'm looking forward to meeting and talking to other pen enthusiasts in person. 😀
Oh darn I wish I could go to the pen show. Do you think you’ll be selling the “leftovers” online?
Hi Noah! I might sell some of the leftovers online. We'll see how the show goes. 😀
