keen for the new sk rods and definitely the 2.35 prawns! another great watch!
Great video, live just near there. Thanks for some tips and spots. See you in Ballina.
Cracking video guys, new TD Black looks mint as 🔥👌
The TD Black looks a great reel. Thanks for showing us the hard body fishing.
Just for you Big Kev 👌🏼
SK 681… Sounds like something I definitely need to add to the collection haha
That’s the one you want
Hear me out. I’m glad you replaced the drag sound, it’s much better. I need a bail arm click on my reels. The only reason I buy Shimano is for the bail click. If your reels had it, they would win, coz I love the mq body. Just put a bail arm clicker on your reels already!
Well good news then! Because all AIRDRIVE reels have a bail click
@@tomslater574 🤙🤙🤙goodbye Shimano
@@EzraSwannellFishinghey Ezra fancy.seeing you here
@@yep.fishing hey mate. Fellow tackle nerds will find each other! 😂
SK 722 LFS?? Take my money!!! Great video as always 👌
Coming soon!!
Proper one at the end!!
Great video thankyou 👍🎣
Love the videos and enjoy using Daiwa gear, keep up the great work!
Hi Tom,
Great video , love the look of the TD black. And great insight into how to work a flat at Gippy with hardbody’s
Do you prefer to the spike EXDR or normal depth for Gippy ?
Also, when you were working the Double clutch 48 were you still bumping in to the bottom and puffing up sand ?
Spike 44MR for the flats. The DC48 was just ticking the tops of the weed on the bottom.
Hi mate love your videos 🙌Do you like to use braid or mono?
Always braid and a leader. JBRAID 8lb and 6lb JThread leader
Great video... looks like a magic reel!!! Just a quick question, why does the 24 model have (5+1) bearings but the old 21 model have (6+1)???
They prob removed one of the unnecessary bearings in the spool (those bearing do nothing)
@peter166 we took the CRBB out of the line roller (replaced with 2 bushes) and moved it to the upper pinion bearing.
The line roller cops so much salt, even CRBBs will go noisy. The bushes don’t need anywhere near as much care and still give adequate line roller performance.
The upper pinion being CRBB now in the new model will further improve longevity.
@@tomslater574 I suppose that makes sense, cheers tommy slater! Do you have any extra info about the BaitJunkie Select Scent for lures??
@@peter166 I was very much wrong. 🙃
Why would a light tackle reel have the line roller bearing replaced with bushings? Sure bearings can go bad an get loud when corrosion (or mag oil ) gets into them, but bearings allow the line roller to rotate so much easier than bushings, especially when used with thin braided line and light finesse bream style lures. The line roller rotation is important while retrieving line as if it is not turning you will feel drag. I was keen on one of these reels until I looked at the schematics and found no bearing in line roller.
Which rods best for hard bodys to get some distance in cast but not to noodlies
Try any of the 23 Infeet models in an LRS version, not ULRS. Still a bit of power but a moderate action.
You guys nailed it, this is what I have been wating for. I currently have the SK 722LRS and cant wait for the 722LFS. ETA?
End of June!
Iv got a Battler 742 LFS. The only thing I would change is the last 3 eyelets. They have such a small hole the only knot you can run is an FG.
8 pound leader is probably the max. If I use 12 I run the risk of snapping off a leader when casting.
Not good when you’re using $25 lures.
Hey mate. They are the same size as INFEET EX rods and I don’t have much drama with anything 12lb or under.
If you’re having trouble, I would recommend going up 1 size of braided line. It’s not so much the size of the knot (it’s tiny compared to the opening) but the change of diameter.
0.8 or even 1.0PE to 12lb FG should pass through no problem.
@@tomslater574 Gidday. Running 8lb Kairki which i can’t find the specs for. Think it’s 0.8.
If I’m using 6lb leader I don’t have an issue but I sometimes get frayed around the knot using 8lb. This has always been the case even since the rod was new.
So does it have ATD or ATD-L? website says it has ATD but Tom says ATD-L in the video
Depending on the size is different. The shallow spools have type L like I was using in the video. The larger reels have atd carbon drags
@@tomslater574 cheers for clearing that up
What's the USA version of that spinning reel, if there's any.😊
Tatula MQ - but it is a little different, no magseal etc only for freshwater mainly
Is it better than a BG for 100 more?
For lighter apps, yes
Yo
These new reels make everything up to revelry fc redundant. The only reason you would go anything else is if you wanted made in japan.
Or if you wanted a ball bearing in your line roller which these reel do not have.
