@AlexandraBond REALLY??? Oh no! I've seen your vids and you have coily-curly hair too. Man, I was hoping it would get better. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
@IndigoBlueSole I use it with lots of water. Some areas may have some gooey-ness, but not enough to bother me. They recommend that the hair be super wet when applying it....and it seems that if you apply too much you get the gooey crunchy business going on.
i think KCCC is best for ur short hair....since the shrinkage is so great with the product, its perfect for shorter cropped hair...plus all u need to do is spray it with some water n the morning to refresh. no need to wash out n re-apply product....u get wayyy more use out of ur KCCC. try it!
Kinky Curly is good stuff! I especially love the Knot Today. I agree that adding the Spiral Spritz is great for refreshing 2nd day hair without re-washing it and you should pick some up to try.
I totally agree with you on the Kinky Curly. It's nice but not sure if it's worth the money. Whole Foods is carrying Queen Helen Royal Curls and has a curl cream for $7.99 - it's a poor man's Kinky Curly Custard. The Queen Helen probably doesn't define quite as well but I like it a lot because it doesn't dry my hair out. I'll still continue to get the Knot Today leave-in because I haven't found anything on the ground that beats it.
That is also the MAIN thing I like about the KCC- once it dries the hold, elongation, and softness is so much better than the eco styler when doing twist on my son's longer hair. I have both the ecostyler olive oil and morrocan oil gel - I live in NY and will probably use it on is hair when the weather gets a bit warmer, when Im able to use it as a wash and go. It's way too cold at the moment to do my experimenting. I hav etried adding oils to it but the softeness just isnt the same.Great review
i tried kccc and knot today. i loved it for my wash and go. i loved it and drove 30 min to get it(before target carried it). the only problem i had with it is the big jar was 30 and the knot today was 13. i tried hair rules and deva curl before that and kccc/knot today gave me the best results. my bff turned me onto Sedal rizos obediente. it can be found at latino stores. it is in dark green bottles. each bottle costs $5. the poo is great and conditioner is great for detangling.
Kinky Curly is my favorite styling gel other than the flaxseed gel mixture by Naptural85. Your hair is SUPER CUTE!!!! I love your make-up as well and look forward to viewing your make-up tutorial videos.
@DCOXVOCALS1 GIRL....why do I have like 20 sample packages and you're right.... I LOVE IT for a twist out. I plan on doing a review for it soon. Just want to be sure though. It is def a good product so far. My BSS doesn't have it and its hard to find online w/out paying too much in shipping. I'm so glad you mentioned it....YES you are telling the truth. Love it for my twist out lately. Thanks.
the leave in is great too. i am now using argan oil gel to get more definition. if my curls are crunchy, i use shea moisture smoothie on top of the argan oil gel to soften my hair. i also use the shingling method. so all together, i spend $18.
KC Knot today is great for short hair too. I use it as a detangler since my hair is really tangled when it's wet. Then I blow dry it out then flat iron it. It's really a great product. Love your earrings.
The Kinky Curly is good. I love the Knot Today but the custard...I had to go through somethings with the custard to really get it to work for me. I would style my hair with it and it would come out feeling crispy or sticky and at times it would leave white residue in my hair. I finally saw another UA-camr use shea butter in conjunction with the custard and tried it. So far so good but I am learning it is about a good ration of shea butter to custard that makes it come out nicely.
Your hair is gorgeous! I love the leave in conditioner! The conditioner is a staple for me. Since my hair has grown longer, the conditioner helps detangle my hair. If you use kimmaytubes leave in recipe you might get the same results and softer and more moisturized hair.
I have been using the Kinky Curly products ever since I cut my locks 10 years ago, it's so easy to use. I've tried a lot of products before Kinky Curly and it works perfectly for me.
I wanted to recommend a product to you. It is the MANGO & CAPUCU FEATHER WHIPPED CURL CREAM by SOFT SHEEN CARSON-ROOTS OF NATURE. This product is the bomb!!!! It is soooooo much cheaper than kinky curly and most of the other natural curl products out there. It really defines my natural curls and does NOT leave it feeling dry or crunchy!! The cost is about $6 and you can find it at your local beauty supply store. They also have a COIL CREAM for braid outs and twists out. Love your videos!
Beautiful! I thing the KC & MJ cost to much! I mix shea butter with my ECO. Yes, as my hair has grown, natural almost eleven months, my hair needs more mousture.
I noticed that you stated that when you use Eco Styling gel & Giovanni direct leave-in together it makes your hair dry, it could come from using the gel over the Giovanni leave-in because its a lite protein condition so a moisturizing leave-in might be the fix on the dry feeling...:-)
It's worth it even though it is expensive, do don't have to manipulate your hair as much when you use it. Your hair looks beautiful and you did not have to do that much work. I see the difference in my hair also. I finally broke down a bought it from Whole Foods Market. I did not buy the Knot Today but I will.
One thing I did when I had shorter hair and used gels like Eco Styler was to also use glycerin/water 1:3 parts and it softens your hair while keeping the hold of the gel.
OMG!! Your Target sells Kinky Curly?!?!? That is why I love Target. Your hair looks great! I have the kinky curly and I'm not totally impressed but I think I used too much.
I would like to know how can I add moisture using the Giovanni and eco styler gel? When I decide to add a. Oil. It all goes wrong and all substances separate. My hair has no shine. A d by the end of the day is all fluffy. Do you use Giovanni leave I and deeper moisture? Thank you.
The first time I used it I must have use too much because my hair was really hard, I don't use it at much now, If I were to wear my hair out It's usually a twist or a braid out but I plan on revisiting kinky curly this summer
I like kinky curly but I get the same results when the ecostyler gel. The only difference is the price and my hair takes forever to dry when I use kinky curly! Great review though!
OMG SISTER, you are just fanstastically GAWGEOUS!!! Imma share this with a brother friend of mine who feautures "natural beauty of the day" on his fb page.
I just stated growing my hair naturally and i use kinky Curly but its winter and i cant leave my hair wet.how do you dry it without messing up the curls.
thinking about purchasing it still on the fence about it & my curls are close to yours. I have so much shrinkage! My hair is growing been natural for 3 months & for me to see my length, I have to pull out the curls lol same as you.gosh it works me a little. I think I will stick to same routine until it grows back longer. Seems like the more it grows the more it needs moisture, I have been using water/olive oil and jojoba oil seems to be working.Eco leaves me dry but coconut makes me itch, ugh!
You can stretch it each morning by putting rubber bands on the hair for a few minutes. I do it while putting on my makeup. Pull the rubber bands off and go. Oh and it last over a month if you sleep in a bonnet. Also use the salve in the smell round can. It is all you need to maintain.
I love your hair. When I started my journey, I used KCKT Leave In with the KCCC and loved it, but for some reason, it no longer works on my hair so I tried Eco. Although the curls are almost the same, I think the Eco is making my hair shed. I purchased KCCC today, I am hoping that after a few months of rest it works again.
I wanted to try Kinky-Curly for a few years now but I still resist the purchase. Why? If I make the purchase and like the results, then I will definitely keep buying it and I don't want to do that because I'm on a strict budget, lol. You are seriously tempting me though, lol. Love your results and make-up!!!
Thanks for sharing. I went out and brought the bag of Kinky Curly products. The bag is white an strong with an zipper. The products I received are the Spiral, come clean oil, knot today and the curling custard. All two ounces. Only for $23.99/$24.00 dollars. Thanks again for sharing.
every review of KCCC i see is positive! i have purchased the products, and i HATE the filmy, :crunchy feeling i get. my hair is longer, and i guess i'm just having challenges with learning how to style my natural locks. i've invested in the products - i just wish i could learn how to make them work for me!
I use Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel and ALL NATURAL shea butter and my hair lasted for 2 weeks. I have a tighter hair texture too. Especially on my sides! I shingled my hair and I received compliments both weeks. :) I have dry hair too, but I'm working on using products that moisturize it. I use cream of nature and its nice, but I plan on trying a 100% natural shampoo when I receive it! :)
@colouredbeautiful i just brought this stuff. i was wondering. have u tried to do the loose curl technique with this? it says on the jar for loose curls apply to damp hair instead of dripping wet. because i dont want my hair TIGHTLY coiled i want it stretched
You are a beautiful black sista. Thanks for the video, very helpful since I am planning on doing the big chop for a few months before locking my hair up.
A great way to get even more wear out of KC is to mist your hair with water and it will refresh your do for a couple more days. I can get at least a week from one application
did u do a vlog on how you used it.... I used KCCC and I didnt get good results maybe I used it wrong and I watch quite a few vids...what can you suggest?
Great Review! it looks good & well defined curls, i agree on your experiences with the Eco Styler Gel to hard, flaky & very drying so for me i will be discontinuing ... i hope the Kinky Curling Custard will be better in the future
Hello, loved the video, one the first people that I've found that has hair like mine. If you can imagine my hair is tighter cured than yours and that is the bigges thing I am so not embracing...being super thick, I have no idea what to do, I am 1 year and months natural and the grey is in a race to take over....
@TheSagaciousGirl Thanks Jen! Hope you're still in that peace....loved your last video...
Girl that Kinky Curly 'knot today' is the best!!!!! I love it. do not wash without it
@naturally4us Thank you...I'll have the eye tutorial posted soon.
@AlexandraBond REALLY??? Oh no! I've seen your vids and you have coily-curly hair too. Man, I was hoping it would get better. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
@MegaDiamondmine Thanks!
@IndigoBlueSole I use it with lots of water. Some areas may have some gooey-ness, but not enough to bother me. They recommend that the hair be super wet when applying it....and it seems that if you apply too much you get the gooey crunchy business going on.

Do you have to use the knot today??,because I only bought the curling custard to try it out
The kinky curly spiral spritz is great for reviving next day curls!
Kinky Curly is good stuff! I especially love the Knot Today. I agree that adding the Spiral Spritz is great for refreshing 2nd day hair without re-washing it and you should pick some up to try.
She looks beautiful
I love your eye make up! I've been playing with the idea of going natural but I think my natural hair is too kinky.
I totally agree with you on the Kinky Curly. It's nice but not sure if it's worth the money. Whole Foods is carrying Queen Helen Royal Curls and has a curl cream for $7.99 - it's a poor man's Kinky Curly Custard. I'll still continue to get the Knot Today leave-in because I haven't found anything on the ground that beats it.
Ur complexion is so beautiful even without makeup when u were applying the Kinky kurly!
I know this is an old vid but have you ever tried Shea Moisture's curling souffle? It about $10. Its my favorite styling gel!
Girl your eye makeup is beautiful and the Kinky Curly looks great!!!
That is also the MAIN thing I like about the KCC- once it dries the hold, elongation, and softness is so much better than the eco styler when doing twist on my son's longer hair. Really needed to see this, I thought I was the only one going through dryness with eco styling gel, but it still a great product
Kinky Curly is my favorite styling gel other than the flaxseed gel mixture by Naptural85. Your hair is SUPER CUTE!!!! I love your make-up as well and look forward to viewing your make-up tutorial videos.
@KokoGigglesLots Target also sells Kinky Curly at least here in Ga they do!
@DCOXVOCALS1 GIRL....why do I have like 20 sample packages and you're right.... I LOVE IT for a twist out. I plan on doing a review for it soon. Just want to be sure though. Great review! I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to try this product. I think I'll wait. U look great as always!
the leave in is great too. i am now using argan oil gel to get more definition. if my curls are crunchy, i use shea moisture smoothie on top of the argan oil gel to soften my hair. i also use the shingling method. so all together, i spend $18.
I love the Eco too and I havent experienced any dryness! I spritz w/some water n oil and use the Eco w/a leave in or moisturizer :)
KC Knot today is great for short hair too. I use it as a detangler since my hair is really tangled when it's wet. Then I blow dry it out then flat iron it. It's really a great product. Love your earrings.
The price wouldn't be so bad if you got more product. I love your coils. My hair does the same thing. It's such a nice look on you.
I remember in one of your video you said that your hair is not growing much. But your hair has grown allot-allot and looks great!!!
The Kinky Curly is good. I love the Knot Today but the custard...I had to go through somethings with the custard to really get it to work for me. My hair is tightly coiled and I have frizz how can I get my frizz under control?
I love kccc, I put it in one day and just spray it a little in the morning for five days, looked the same. but you are right about the price.
im about to do the big chop how should i take care of my hair directly after the big chop?
Oh wow...the targets in VA always had it..and i have to try it too.
You are so beautiful! I love your eye make up! Wish I could do that. Thanks for the info!
Your hair is gorgeous! I love the leave in conditioner! The conditioner is a staple for me. Since my hair has grown longer, the conditioner helps detangle my hair. If you use kimmaytubes leave in recipe you might get the same results and softer and more moisturized hair.

You look pretty with your makeup, you do a great job with the application. But you look beautiful without it!
