    I have fine 4C hair that used to be see-through. When I stopped using brushes and combs, my hair thickened up and retained length. Finger-detangling and low manipulation styles saved my hair

    Wow see! I’m a Texture specialist and I got C in May. I was sick for 3 month with LHC. I’ve seen quite a few clients experience this and I’ve been helping through this process. My hair has felt terrible since May. I might upload my experience as well. I’ve been wanting to big chop so badly for months because of this. You are not alone and not many ppl are talking about this. This is more noticeable with fine stranded, rippled outer textured tight curls. Thank you for sharing.

    I know it's a year ago but for anyone reading this, be careful with continuing to slick back your hair while wet. it really broke off the circumfrence of my hair doing it over and over a few weeks. The weakened, wet hair, the gel and the brushing that needed to be done to get it slick while curly was hard on my hair but it looked good.

    Try using a wide tooth comb or a wide toothpick. Be gentle when you comb or brush your hair, and please use some oil on your scalp so it won't be dry. In 1999, I wore a chin bob, and in 2022, my hair grew to a bra length. I just recently got a taper cut. Love it. To grow my hair, I wore 2 brairs Indian style and only wore my hair in a cute curlie style on Sundays, then back to the braids. Find out what works for you and stick to it. ❤

      @shebamack4266 Місяць тому +2

      @@DivaEagle77 that's so true! About 10 years ago, my hair was coming out, and it was due to an iron deficiency. That problem was solved by taking iron pills, and everything was fine. A few women I know had COVID, and the same thing happened to them. It's really strange. It continues to grow back, but wow.

    • @DivaEagle77
      @DivaEagle77 Місяць тому +1

      @@shebamack4266yeah, so strange! The last couple years I’ve learned so much about stress and hair loss and vitamin deficiencies and hair loss. I had Covid hair loss. Hair loss due to iron deficiencies from uterine fibroids. Then another time my hair snapped at the root due to Vitamin D deficiency. So now I’ve learned to keep my stress low, I take Geritol for iron, beef liver pills for Vitamin A and D, pumpkin oil topically to combat DHT, and Ritual Pre Natal Vitamins for any other minerals and Omega 3s. Hair is healthy and thriving now. But good Lord!!! The learning process was a MESS! I’m glad you’re feeling better :)

    Looks like mechanical damage I would recommend detangling with oil in small sections with oil try to do style were you can oil you hair and comb it everyday. Do not detangling on wet hair don’t let you hair get matted ever and don’t put grease or oil on the scalp it clogs the hair follicle and makes hair fall out. And try low manipulation style as well as washing your hair at least 2x a week to unclog the hair follicle and deep condition regularly . Best of luck on your hair grow journey

    Question: the hair you cut off, is that what is considered split ends? Or you cut it off because you didn't like that it's thin?

  • @islandpersuasion4690

    Have you tried hair vitamins & a healthier diet. That'll really get your length & thickness back.

    I don't understand why you had to cut it. Would the thinner ends cause problems or is it just to make it look better?

    • @MonaB
      @MonaB  2 роки тому +16

      They’re very thin and nothing can be done with ends like that. They can damage your hair more and stunt hair growth.

      My bad ends tangle, knot and split more...so I cut them off before they damage the healthy strands.

      @@MonaB Ok, I didn't know it could damage the rest of the hair. They say hair is dead, so I thought it wouldn't matter.

    Low manipulation, give your hair a break I know that you love to do a lot of hairstyles, wigs etc, but sometimes a pause is needed.

    • @MonaB
      @MonaB  2 роки тому +6

      Wigs or doing styles have never been the downfall of my hair. Wigs are low manipulation, they may not be for you but for me they are. Y’all only see a 10 min video from me a few times a week. Majority of the time my hair is in twist. Thanks for the advice but I have this under control.😉

      Just stretch it and wear a fro. even before the pandemic your hair has been about the same length either you have an addiction to cutting your hair or you don't "have it under control" you've been length over health for so many years but when is that health going to result in length? I know some people like short hair but most of the styles you do include extensions. i would think at some point health would turn into thickness and length.

    The reason a lot of you are having hair trouble is because you won't work with a stylist. You say it'be because they don't know what they're doing but you have hair, like this. there are qualified stylists, you just have to find them. it's not easy but, this is worse than you should be enduring

    • @MonaB
      @MonaB  Місяць тому

      My hair actually ended up like this from me being severely ill. It had nothing to do with my maintenance. I’ve been to stylist and literally had to coach them on what to do. This video is old so this stage of my life is over ☺️
