I have fine 4C hair that used to be see-through. When I stopped using brushes and combs, my hair thickened up and retained length. Finger-detangling and low manipulation styles saved my hair
I know it's a year ago but for anyone reading this, be careful with continuing to slick back your hair while wet. it really broke off the circumfrence of my hair doing it over and over a few weeks. The weakened, wet hair, the gel and the brushing that needed to be done to get it slick while curly was hard on my hair but it looked good.
I love your personality. You make me feel better about cutting my hair off. Been natural since 2011 and its long but so damaged. Just like you said length doesn't matter if it's damaged. Thank you
I cut all of my split ends & it looks soo much better! Now to get with a healthy regime to get it growing. Length doesn’t matter when I’m trying to achieve healthy hair! I’m so proud of myself & how my hair looks now!
Try using a wide tooth comb or a wide toothpick. Be gentle when you comb or brush your hair, and please use some oil on your scalp so it won't be dry. In 1999, I wore a chin bob, and in 2022, my hair grew to a bra length. I just recently got a taper cut. Love it. To grow my hair, I wore 2 brairs Indian style and only wore my hair in a cute curlie style on Sundays, then back to the braids. Find out what works for you and stick to it. ❤
Wow see! I’m a Texture specialist and I got C in May. I was sick for 3 month with LHC. I’ve seen quite a few clients experience this and I’ve been helping through this process. My hair has felt terrible since May. I might upload my experience as well. I’ve been wanting to big chop so badly for months because of this. You are not alone and not many ppl are talking about this. This is more noticeable with fine stranded, rippled outer textured tight curls. Thank you for sharing.
My hair was the same I had to take it old school start using grease and water and pink lotion and keep my box braids in for like 3 months at a time you have to start greasing your hair like everyday and then eventually like just a few times a week (getAwater bottle) trust the process
You have been through so much. Yup being alive and healthy is more important than long thin hair! My hair likes to fall out too at the slightest thing so I'm always cutting it! I have been using Olaplex and it has been helping my hair. I only use it once a week and it's lasting me a long time. I have ultra-fine hair too.
I went through this after having Covid as well. It is heartbreaking because I also had to do an unplanned haircut. I understand completely. Now, my hair is in recovery and seems to be flourishing. I wish you the very best on this journey. Chin up! 🙏🏾💗
Me too! literally the exact same thing in the exact same place. The hair at the top of my head was always my longest and strongest hair with the loosest curl pattern. A few months after covid it started breaking like i have never experienced I even got a bald spot. nice to know i am not alone lol
Same! My hair was doing so well and then I got covid and it looked exactly like hers. I was heartbroken that was 2 years ago and I cut all off the end of December
Your hair looks very healthy and looks good. I thank you for sharing your hair journey and that you are healthy after recovering . God Bless you. Enjoying your videos.
I thought about cutting my 4c hair as well because it was sooo dry and I couldn’t comb it, but then I discovered dark and lovely detangling cream and now me and my hair are getting along for the first time in months. You should try defining your curls. Love the cut. Looks very healthy.
The C-19 and Chronic anemia caused my hair to thin and shed really badly. I'm trying to decide whether to big chop or ride it out while taking my meds, then trim.

U have strong healthy roots so at least you didn’t have to shave it. It’s cute too. Enjoy it while it’s shorter m easier cause it’ll b back faster than y want it to.
Okay yes!!! Bc I see these other videos where I’m like YOU DIDNT CUT ENOUGH!! And their ends still look thin or scraggly bc they are scared to cut the length. I was second guessing if I was missing something or cut too much off. Thank you!
How do you get your blow dryer to get hair straight, I just can’t get it without all the fuzz look! Good luck on your hair journey🔥 good you got over that sickness 🙏🏽
I am feeling every second of this video! This was me last week. I couldn’t figure out why my hair was so unruly. Then I washed and blow dried, and saw the exact same thing in my hair. I couldn’t believe it, and I cut all that mess outta my head. It looks 1,000% better. And like you said, I wasn’t about to go to a hair salon and have them “play in my head”! Thank you so much for sharing this video with us!!! So helpful!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💥💥💥💥💥✌🏽💜
@@DivaEagle77 that's so true! About 10 years ago, my hair was coming out, and it was due to an iron deficiency. That problem was solved by taking iron pills, and everything was fine. A few women I know had COVID, and the same thing happened to them. It's really strange. It continues to grow back, but wow.
@@shebamack4266yeah, so strange! The last couple years I’ve learned so much about stress and hair loss and vitamin deficiencies and hair loss. I had Covid hair loss. So now I’ve learned to keep my stress low, I take Geritol for iron, beef liver pills for Vitamin A and D, pumpkin oil topically to combat DHT, and Ritual Pre Natal Vitamins for any other minerals and Omega 3s. Hair is healthy and thriving now. But good Lord!!! The learning process was a MESS! I’m glad you’re feeling better :)
My hair looked just like yours. I got a haircut in August and will get a regular trim (every 3-4 months instead of annually) and everything should grow in fuller together. The goal is to see how long my hair will grow (before I cut it off again 🤭).
